Question:
Ive used my 2008 jeep liberty sport to tow my 4000 lb. travel trailer. I live in the Adirondack mountains and have success with the exception of the trans running hot for short periods 220 for 15- 20 mins. and would like to increase cooling capacity. I do not have the optional tow package on the vehicle. Would this unit help and fit

Yes. Since your 2008 Jeep Liberty does not have the towing package that usually adds a transmission cooler to your setup, installing the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 will help keep your transmission from overheating. Since this unit has a powered fan unit, you can mount it anywhere inside your engine compartment and not have to worry about getting enough air flow.
I've linked the installation instructions for this cooler to this answer that you might want to have a look at as well.
