  • Offers superior airflow with 500-CFM, reversible tornado fan
  • Mounts anywhere with aluminum mounting brackets

  • Distance between inlets: 8-9/16"
  • Mounting dimensions: 4" tall x 11-5/8" wide
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

  • Transmission Cooler Suggestion for Towing in the Mountains with 2012 Chevy Silverado
Unless you live in Alaska or northern portions of Canada where it's below freezing for a good part of the year, we recommend getting the largest transmission cooler that will fit in the most efficient mounting spot which is directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator. The Derale # D13504 measures 11x12, and would offer plenty of cooling to protect your transmission from the extra heat generated when negotiating mountainous terrain like the western Carolinas. The cooler would install...

  • Transmission Cooler with Fan Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
The Derale Atomic Remote Cooler part # D13950 would be a really great option for a very efficient cooler that comes with a fan. It's a very efficient cooler style and size plus has a fan that can move 500 CFM so it will do a great job keeping your transmission fluid cool which will prolong the life of it. It also comes with all needed hardware to install.

  • Best Transmission Cooler for Off-Roading in a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser in Year-Round Warm Climate
The Class rating applied to transmission coolers is to help simplify choosing a cooler for a vehicle. Basically you would think about it in terms of a hitch class rating. So for example if your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser has a Class III hitch then a transmission cooler shown as a Class III is a good match. But ultimately you can use any cooler that fits in the intended mounting location. Derale transmission cooler # D13503 is a very popular option. It is a Class III but if you want something...

  • Will Derale Atomic-Cool Transmission Cooler Work for 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 5.7L
The # D13950 Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan can be used in your 1969 Camaro with 5.7L Engine. I reached out to Derale and they confirmed this. This cooler is designed to be mounted anywhere. According to the installation manual, the purpose is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser. This cooler can be mounted anywhere space permits. Always keep in mind that the cooler still needs...

  • Recommended Supplementary Transmission Cooler for 2004 Dodge Dakota
Transmission fluid temperature can rise quickly when towing, especially in warmer weather and when towing on uphill grades which naturally mean slower speeds and reduced air flow to your Dakota's cooling system. Supplementary coolers are a wise addition to a towing vehicle, and so too is keeping your transmission fluid fresh as you have done. Standard passive coolers like Derale # D13503 (along with hose fitting kit # D13030) can install in front of your AC condenser to give you more heat-radiating...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for Jeep Grand Cherokee that Does Low Speed Off-Roading
I would highly recommend a transmission cooler for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since you will be doing low-speed off-roading I would recommend a kit that comes with a fan so that you can ensure the cooler gets air-flow like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13950. This comes with everything needed to install including lines and fittings but to make installing the cooler easier you would want the radiator adapter part # D13034 to prevent you from having to go through...

  • Will a Remote Transmission Cooler Fit a 2005 Ford F-250 with 5.4 Liter
The great thing about the Derale remote transmission cooler # D13950 is that you can mount it where ever you have space. Since it has its own fan it does not have to be placed out in front of the motor. This will allow you to position it in the place with the most room and that does include areas outside of the engine compartment! The only stipulation you will want to follow is not to place it too low or to where the fan or fins are facing the ground because something could bounce up from...

Be sure you don't exceed the towing capacity of your truck that is stated in the owners manual as well.

As long as you have the available space in the area where you want to install the cooler, you can certainly use the # D13950 Atomic Cool Transmission Cooler on your 2012 Yukon. Keeping the transmission cool when you're moving in stop-and-go traffic is exactly what this particular cooler is designed for. The # D13035 you already have is the recommended fitting. As far as functionality there isn't one place that is really better than another for the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a 2017 Nissan Armada. Basically anywhere there is space for it will be a good location. On modern vehicles space in the engine compartment can be at a premium though so you will want to check ahead of time prior to installing a cooler. • BTU Rating of Detale D13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Mount Transmission Cooler
According to Derale, their # D13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Mount Transmission Cooler offers a 22,000 BTU/Hour Cooling Rating and would be a minimally adequate choice for a vehicle used on a drag strip, I'd recommend bumping up to a 46K unit such as the Derale Hyper-Cool # D15960. Drag racing is extremely hard on a transmission, it would make good sense to make the small investment to upgrade to the higher capacity cooler.

For your situation, the best, most-effective transmission cooler I can recommend for you is the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit with Fan # D13950. You will also want to use the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035, so you do not need to flare lines for installation. • Transmission Cooler Options and Installation for a 2009 Chevy Equinox Pulling a 2,800 Pound Trailer
I am not sure what, if any, benefit new cooler lines would offer. But the right transmission cooler will do the trick. If your 2009 Chevy Equinox has the 3.4 liter engine, we have several options. I recommend the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D12901. This has the simplest, tube fin design. It is fairly small so it should be easy to find the best mounting point. There are essentially three places to mount a transmission cooler. The best place is between the grille and AC condenser core....

  • Can Heat Sink Cooler be Added to Vehicle That Already Has Two Coolers
While you can technically install the Derale 20" Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler # D13265 in your vehicle that already has an Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler like # D13950 and another aftermarket oil cooler, it is not recommended. Additionally, there should not be a need for additional cooling considering what you already have; if your transmission temperatures are still too high it may be a good idea to have the transmission loooked at.

You would need to plug the transmission line inlet and outlet, so the OEM trans cooler could fill with fluid without leaking out....

  • What Is the Amp Draw of the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit D13950
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 will draw up to 4.8 amps. In regards to fluid capacity, this is not a figure that Derale provides. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.

This means the fluid first goes into the factory cooler and then goes into the supplemental cooler before going back to the transmission. For a cooler for your 2008 GMC Yukon the Derale part # D13504 would be a really great option that's larger in size and a very efficient style. Both the Derale transmission coolers you mentioned would work great installed on your 2010 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 liter V8. The part # D13960 is the more efficient style of cooler as it has a stacked plate whereas the # D13950 is a plate and fin cooler which is still really effective but not quite as effective as the stacked plate.
