What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this Titan Chain Safety Chain. So, we're gonna use it to replace an old rusty chain on our trailer. You can see we left the other one on. So, we're replacing this and kind of getting an upgrade to a stronger, bigger chain. Let's check it out.
The chain is gonna be 42 inches in length, and if you look in here at the links, it's gonna have 1/2 inch diameter in those links, and then we also have 1/2 inch safety hook on the end. The chain is gonna have a weight capacity of 5,000 pounds. It's also made out of grade 70 steel, and the finish on it is going to be a yellow chromate. So, it's gonna help protect against the rust and corrosion when you leave it outside. Install's gonna be really simple.
Went ahead and removed the old chain. We're gonna put it right back in its place. So, we're gonna take the shackle, run that through, line this up over here, drop our clevis pin through the shackle and the hole that's already existing on our trailer right there, and then add our cotter pin in to hold it all into place. Just gonna hang its star there. And so this one's kind of old and a little bent.
I'm just gonna use the hammer to kind of tap it in. Once it's through like that, you can bend out the ends here, and then it'll stay in place. Overall, I think it's gonna be a good safety chain to add to your trailer, whether you're replacing an old one that's broke, or you got some of the links that are damaged, or you just want to upgrade to a stronger safety chain. It's gonna be a good choice. Really easy to throw on there, really easy to use, and you can be on your way.
Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..
