Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com Today I'm gonna take a look at this MORryde shackle upgrade kit for tandem axle trailers with the MORryde LRE leaf spring suspension. Now this heavy-duty shackle kit is an excellent upgrade for your RV suspension. The half-inch thick shackle brackets are a lot thicker and stronger and more durable than the standard quarter-inch thick factory brackets. The bronze bushings will increase durability over the standard plastic ones and the bolts they use are greasable bolts, also known as wet bolts and they're easily maintained and help minimize wear-and-tear versus a tri-bolt. Now, in a multi-axle system, the shackles, these parts right here, this is what'll link the springs and the equalizers in your suspension system and the shackles is what handles the most movement and weight in a suspension setup.
Therefore they're the most likely component to wear and should be checked frequently. The shackle bolts themselves are what holds the shackle straps to your leaf springs and to your equalizer and normally it has dry bolts, which over time could wear out and fail. This upgrade kit, as we've mentioned, besides having the thicker straps also include these wet bolts. And these are bolts with the grease Zerk fitting on the end, allows you to apply your grease gun and then put grease inside the bushing and that'll help keep the wear from happening at your connection points. Now, this upgrade kit replaces the straps, the bushings, the bolts, the lock nuts on your RV suspension system.
Everything laid out here on the table is included. I'm gonna try to go through them all, but the shackle straps right here, there's eight of them and they are two-and-a-quarter inch long by half-inch wide shackle straps. The length is measured center to center, bolt hole to bolt hole. The wet bolts, these are the black ones here that are on the shackle straps, there's eight of the nine-sixteenths by three-and-three-eighths inch long wet bolts. And then on the outside here, you have the four nine-sixteenths by two-and-seven-eighths inch long wet bolts.
Does come with the four sheer spring brackets, right here, the eight bronze bushings, the lock nuts, there's 12 of the seven-sixteenths by 20 size flange lock nuts. And then in the bag we have 16 of the three-eighths inch by 16 yellow zinc bolts and 16 of the three-eighths inch by 16 zinc lock nuts. Does come with a nice set of installation instructions that will describe and show you how everything gets installed. And these parts are made in the USA. Bought this complete kit to replace one I installed back in 2015 and about 30000 miles ago! Cheaper than just bolts and bushings and all the small bolts are now fresh also. Prompt delivery. Hardware is plastic sealed to a card, no worries about something being lost during shipping due to a damaged box.

every thing ordered fit perfectly a little labor intensive but job completed in approximately 6 hrs shear springs will make a big difference as the old ones had worn out and were splitting bad on left side not so much on right but replaced both sides and all bushings and new wet bolts and shackles now the suspension is like new as my Montane is 10 yrs old

I had a leaf spring break on my travel trailer and had some difficulty finding a local dealer for the parts. After doing some google searching, I came across etrailer. I matched the spring size and weight capability with one on etrailer and they shipped it super fast. I also ordered the suspension upgrade kit to go along with the new leaf springs. ETrailer was fantastic to work with. I ordered the Morryde SRE4000 upgrade and the upgraded heavy duty shackle kit. Both arrived in a timely manner. The shackle kit did get lost by UPS. I emailed etrailer and Stephanie was absolutely fantastic. She was prompt in her email replies. We had a few emails back and forth. Then I even called one time and she answered the phone promptly and answered my question no problem. And she got the replacement order out right away. Yes, I highly recommend using etrailer. Very professional and knowledgeable.

The grease fittings would not receive grease on about half of my bolts once they were installed. I replaced those with the old bolt grease fittings. Don't know if it was fitting or my grease gun.

The MORyde Suspension Upgrade kit is a very solid and heavy duty kit. The shackle straps are twice the thickness of the straps that came on the RV and the wet bolts will be a great upgrade for the RV I haven't installed it yet, so I can't comment of the installation and ride. I will be installing this on my 5th wheel RV, triple axle.
I took a star off the review because of the packaging. These items come laid out on a piece of cardboard and then vacuum packed to the cardboard. When the item arrived, it was not packaged very well. All pieces had broken away from the packaging and were pretty much free floating in the box. Nuts had come off some of the bolts and the bronze bushings had fallen off. It doesn't look like the threads of the bolts were damaged. There was also one shackle strap that was missing from the package, only 5 were in the box.
I contacted etrailer support and Adam took care of this issue right away. He contacted MORyde and they are sending out the missing shackle strap. Hope to have it soon.

This is a very well put together kit. Fairly easy to install. It’s nice that the bolts are already seated into one side of the shackle. I will definitely buy this kit for my other trailers. I highly recommend this kit. Just make sure you grease them once and while.

The rear mounting bolt and the front mounting bolt to the frame are the wrong length! I called but they can’t get me the correct size which is the same size as the shackle bolts to the equalizers

Fantastic Shackle Upgrade. The Shackles themselves are probably two times as thick as the original. The Greaseable Zirk fittings with brass bushings make it easy to keep the shackles properly lubed so they dont grind down like the original hard plastic bushings.
I'm frankly amazed the originals didnt break thro0ough the shackles. But I have zero worries with this new kit. We also paired this with the Moryde CRE-3000 hanger upgrade, which makes the trailer ride much smoother.

I have not installed them yet. But I did receive them today and man they look amazing. I was unaware of the existence of these, even when I was looking for replacement parts. Luckily I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I called in late one evening and received the help I truly deserved!

This kit should have 6 bolts @ 2 1/4" for the leaf ends and equalizer hanger and 8 longer bolts to accommodate the thicker shackles. Can with 12 longer bolts and 2 shorter. Had to cancel my memorial day trip because of it.

Excellent shackles! Very well made and strong. The only complaint was the bolts would not align with the shackle holes. The bolts were angled away from each other and due to the thickness of the shackles, I could not bend the bolts together to align them to the holes. I called the techs at etrailer and was informed that several customers had the same issue. I was told to gently and carefully hammer the bolts together and it worked! Go for minute changes as I learned the hard way and bent the first one too much! It is easier to bang them together rather than spreading the bolts apart!!! I love this kit and feel it is a very necessary upgrade from the factory installed kit. I am full time RVer and want the peace of mind that I feel safer.

My old bushings were worn completely out. My equalizers were worn completely out. My trailer tires were rubbing the inside of my fiberglass finders. Trailer appears to be lifted 3/4 of an inch. Tires no longer rubbing finders and all of my trailer bushings can now be greased for longer life.

Easy to install a huge upgrade from the cheap plastic bushings. Glad I changed them out the bushings were wore through and some of the bolts had flat spots shakel holes were oblong trailer has about 15000 miles and is in it's 3 rd season. Read tires were starting to wear funny,hope this helps tightens things up

I open box. Plastic is torn away from cardboard and parts are floating in box. No problem
Put all parts together and sorted them out book comes with package but no numbers are listed to what your supposed to have.
So I got 4 shackles with all the parts one had damaged threads 4 of the same size pins and bushings as shackles. And 2 shorter pins and bushings.
Remove from axle old pins and equalizer pins notice pins for front leaf spring and equalizer pin needs to be smaller then shackles pins
My kits got 4shackles pins and 2 short pins needs to have 6 of them.
The parts I have do look good just disappointed quality of shipment

Money well spent. I made the upgrade because the nylon sleeves in the 2 year old Dexter suspension were already shot. The ride is now significantly improved. The added bonus is the problem with bucking and bouncing on concrete highways with expansion joints is no longer a problem. One comment on installation. If you don't have access to the proper jacks and air impact wrench, have a professional do the installation.
