As Always, etrailer has delivered a product that is easy to install and fits right the first time. I have used it for a year now and it continues to work exactly as it should.
Looks great and feels sturdy, got it installed with my husband yesterday and I feel confident it will be able to hold my bike hitch with ease!
The hitch showed up the day early and I literally had it installed within 15 minutes. The wire harness took a little bit longer because I had to run power wire under the van to the battery but is was very simple and easy. Had everything hooked up in no time.

That Was Easy!
The hitch was ordered to replace the OEM one that had a too large of a receiver opening and the hole for the pin was about 2" from the opening as apposed to the rest of the world, about 3". This hitch corrected the banging around when towing. Result I wanted. The rest was ugly. The holes in this hitch almost lined up. Mounted all bolts loose and appeared to be okay. However the last bolt rubbed enough on the hitch that it striped the threads. Managed to get a replacement grade 8 bolt with nut inside frame the hold it on properly. Lesson, if you have a Nissan NV van with OEM hitch work with what you have. Despite its "off' design it is way better built than this hitch. I thick this hitch will serve its purpose but if it meets its 10000# rating, the one I took off could handle [more]

Great!
First it is on there and it is working great.
I would give it more stars but installation required the use of a hydronic power pull to spread the frame attach sides enough to fit the van frame. The miss alignment was only the welded sides and all predrilled holes were correct. My guess is that a DIY installer would not have the tool to safely apply enough force to fit this to the vehicle.

The Nissan van has the hitch and it is working fine
WOW. Took maybe 15 minutes for my son n I to install. Heavy duty n nice finish
Holes did not line up. Had to spread the two ends out to get it to work. This took additional time to do was no 30 min. The wiring harness red wire to the battery is not long enough, could not get to engine department.

If you are having troubles with the holes not lining up, it could be that the hitch has been flexed during shipment. This is common amongst hitches, since the mounting brackets are made from a mild steel that allows the hitch to flex with the vehicle after installation. If the entire hitch was made of rigid steel, there would be a greater chance of the hitch being damaged and experiencing stress cracks. Such cracks could cause the hitch to malfunction. This flexing often times will cause the holes not to align. Because of this we do have a help article I have the link attached below that will walk you through the process of straightening the hitch.

The only bad thing,I guess,is all
mounting holes not lining up exactly.
I saw 1 review about this and somebody responded with receiver going under shipping flex or needing to flex with movement.
Well the help article on website explains can be straightened out with different senarios.
None of these ways would
work,6xbolts would work,but last 2x was fun.The welding of receiver needed to flex up&down,allowing bolt flange to snug up to frame-so holes would line up.Had to do some shifting with a socket extension in one of the holes.Stuck in just before threads start in hole-so not messed up.
Advice-do not tighten bolts all the way till they are all threading correctly and close to being snug.
To be honest, I haven't even thought about this hitch since I installed it a year ago. I use it regularly, but haven't had any issues with it at all. We bought it so we could put a platform on the back of our Nissan NV van for our beach trip and it worked great. Easy to install (with a little red-faced grunting in the gravel) and has been very sturdy for everything I've tried to do with it. I pulled a cattle trailer with two cows to the butcher and it did great. So again, I don't really think about it because it just works!
I phone ordered a receiver and wiring kit for my 2012 Nissan van on a Monday and got it on Wednesday. I opened the box and in 15 minutes it was on the vehicle. Looks good and fit perfectly. The wiring took an additional 45 minutes. I had to put it in wiring loom or it would have been quicker. The advice was great! I asked if there would be sales tax. No was the answer. Free shipping? Yes my order qualifies. Will there be a mint in the box? Your service, products, and prices are great, but a mint would be over the top! I did get a laugh. Sorry, no pics. But I did get the camper pulled to the Country Stampede!! I'll be ordering more items later.

Poor packing. Came with 3 penatrations in card board box. no pack
ing in side box. box should have been larger.
Holes didn't line up correctly on my 2013 NV 1500 Nissan Van. It
took me 4 hrs. to get 6 0f the 8 bolts tight.
Poor factory specs. or slight damage in shipping ??
Hitch lined up just right on our 2013 NV2500! Did it by myself, using a bungee cord on one side to help hold it up while I was on the other side, 8 bolts and done. Box was broke through when arrived but no damage, perhaps box needs beefed up, or carrier needs to be more respectful.
The hitch takes minutes to install but the harness is a little tricky. Check out YouTube video for assistance. It helped emensley!
Update originally I had ordered this hitch
It was missing mounting bolts
I had immediately contacted etrailer costumer service
They then sent out bolts , recieved them the next day
Hitch was a perfect fit , it bolted right up to my 2016 Nissan NV3500

It sounds like the hitch that you received was flexed. This happens frequently during the shipping process. I am glad that you were able to get the correct replacement hardware and get it installed. We do have a help article that explains how to bend the hitch back into the correct shape needed for installation for reference.
