2019 Lexus NX 300h

Installation was so EASY for me !! As long as you've got the right tools including a torque wrench this is no problem. The install video on etrailer was very helpful on what to expect.. BUT DON'T BOTHER wasting time by lowering the MUFFLER (2019 NX300h).. I did NOT. It's ABSOLUTELY not necessary!! This hitch very easy to navigate into it's mounting place around the muffler. I DID use 1-foot lifting ramps for the extra work space, so this did make it quite easy. It's just 4 bolts into the vehicle frame and torquing to specs. I was done in 20 minutes. Nice quality tow-hitch. I recommend it.

Its been great, love it. Hitch does not interfere with lift-gate kick sensor!! This was a big question I could never find the answer to. SO GLAD I didnt waste money on a factory hitch that was extremely expensive. I still highly recommend this.

I asked my mechanic to install my new 1 1/4" Curt trailer hitch receiver the other day. He called to say that it was so easy and quick to do that there was no charge for his work. This is the second trailer hitch I've purchased from eTrailer.com in nine years, and the first one is still in use on another vehicle I own. My new hitch is used only for coupling with a bike rack. Both are new, so today was the first day I actually used them together. The trailer hitch is securely installed, safe and unobtrusive. 2019 Lexus NX 300

Received this hitch yesterday (8/9/19) in good condition. Installed the hitch on a 2020 Lexus NX300 to day. I did it alone by placing a piece of square tubing into the receiver and facing it forward. Drilled a 1/4" hole in the tubing and fastened the tubing with a bolt through the hole and the pin hole in the receiver. This enabled me to place the hitch, in perfect balance, on a floor jack and the lift it into position. The fit on the vehicle was perfect. The installation went smooth. Did remove the two exhaust system rubber supports in the very back and the left side tail pipe collar.

2017 Lexus NX 300h

I had a mechanic install this. It would be easier on a rack. The mechanic said if the hitch was the right size and the holes in the frame were already drilled, it would be no problem. It turned out the the hitch was a perfect fit, and it took the mechanic no time at all to install. It looks great and functions well for what I need it for. I would recommend this product.

2018 Lexus NX 300h

I purchased the Curt trailer hitch and Thule 4 bike rack recently with the intention of installing it myself. After receiving the hitch and reading some of the reviews for self install I had second thoughts due to the weight of the hitch. I found a very reliable, low cost professional installer in the Matthews, NC area and can honestly say that it was the right decision after watching them have to bend out the prongs slightly in order to fit the frame on my vehicle. I'm very happy with the results. Now looking forward to some fun bike riding with the family.

I bought this hitch about a year ago. When lifted evenly it fit the frame snugly. The mounting holes were right where they needed to be. We have had no problems with the hitch but the rear foot lift gate option does not function with the hitch on. I think this is something that can happen with some vehicles. The finish still looks new without any rust. I would buy another If I needed one.

Recommended Torque Wrench for Trailer Hitch Installation
For the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12172, there really isn't a solution other than to use a torque wrench. Without torqing the necessary bolts to the manufacturer specs, you void the warranty and can have safety issues when using the hitch receiver. If you want to purchase one, I recommend the torque wrench # ALL944001 or the digital adapter # ALL940962. Both of the Curt hitches you mentioned are a confirmed fit for your 2017 Lexus NX 300h the part # C13337 which is a Class III hitch and has a 2 inch opening and the part # C12172 which has a 1-1/4 inch opening. Whenever available I recommend going with the 2 inch hitch option as it has better weight capacities and more accessories like bike racks made for it.

Are Curt Hitches for 2019 Lexus NX300h and 2016 Lexus NX200t Different
The Curt hitches part # C12143 and # C12172 are pretty similar but if you look closely at the side brackets on the hitch you'll see that they are shaped differently to accommodate the different vehicle configurations. If it's ever possible for a hitch to be carried over to a new year vehicle the manufacturers will do so as it's expensive to redesign a new hitch for a vehicle. So they didn't just redesign the hitch without reason.

Will Curt Class II C12172 Hitch Interfere with Hands-Free Liftgate Feature on 2020 Lexus NX 300
We haven't had any reports regarding the hands-free liftgate not working on a 2020 Lexus NX 300 once the Curt # C12172 hitch was installed. If there will be any interference, it'll be right where the receiver tube is located. If you try waving your foot in the area a few inches right of left of the receiver opening, the sensors will pick up the movement of your foot and the hatch will open for you.
