Not very pleased with this item. I can't find any bike rack to fit this size mount. It also scrapes the ground every time I have to go up a driveway. I wish I had never purchased it or had it put on my vehicle. Overall it is probably not a bad product, just not right for my needs, and your customer service department was not very helpful at all.

Having a 1.25 class I hitch does limit the number of bike racks that will work however it is not impossible. I have listed a few bike racks below that would fit and they do provide a little bit of a rise to raise the bike rack a little higher off the ground. You do want to measure the distance hitch your hitch pin hole to clear your bumper and make the bike rack with be far enough away.

2017 Honda Accord

The hitch was in great condition when it arrived.
I install Hitch on my new 2017 Honda Accord.
I had no problems installing it, I watched your video, read the instruction. I was about 2.5 hours from beginning to finish using a floor jack and two jack stands. I had no assistance installing the hitch. I took a couple of breaks, but at 66 years young it was easy.

This was my second car I have installed a etrailer hitch on. Six years ago I put a etrailer hitch on a 2010 VW Jetta. The instruction have been excellent each time.

Great, I have used it at least once a month with my Cargo carrier, finish still looks like new.

Easy to install, very solid construction. This is the 3rd E trailer hitch receiver I have purchased. A good value!

The hitch was easy to install and have used it a handful of times, no issues hauling bikes!

Great hitch - High quality. Pretty easy to install with the instruction video and paper instructions both great. Well worth the purchase.

2013 Honda Accord

The Hitch was easy to install with the exception of lowering the exhaust, which was hard for me to do, and the instructions of how to do it were not that clear. The Hitch also works as it is supposed to, however I am not sure if the stabilization strap helps, because my rack seems to sway more with the strap. I am also worried the strap could damage my trunk lid, but I guess it shouldn't.

5/13/2014

Im looking to buy the same car you have and need to carry two bikes. Do you have a lot of sway when bikes are mounted?

Etrailer Expert

Rachael H.

5/21/2014

Morgan D.

5/22/2014

I do carry 2 bikes sometimes and the only sway is due to my rack not being the sturdiest when it is pulled tight with the strap. but the sway is minimal, maybe 1/2-1 inch

2016 Honda Accord

The hitch arrived on the third day, much faster than expected. Installation on my 2016 Honda Accord was simple with the clear instructions and an online video. The hardest part of the installation was borrowing a torque wrench. Otherwise, it was a breeze.

Superior. I love it, its well hidden and works great. I just wish my vehicle had more ground clearance, but thats not the hitches issue.

I purchased the hitch for my hitch mounted bicycle rack. I was glad the hitch mounted so easily and without any problems. The directions and the video really made everything easy.

by:

Box came busted and slightly opened at one end but hitch was perfectly covered. Easy install and super easy to follow and detailed instructions. Really glad Etrailer provided the wire to fish the bolt thru.

by:
2015 Honda Accord

I received my hitch today and the box is half ripped opened and I needed this in time to attach a trailer for a move that is happening. I am very stressed that some of the parts needed will not be in the box. I hope they are and that after reading this that I will get a discount for the stress about not having the right equipment or a full refund if there are parts missing. I will write another review if my concerns get addressed but thus far I am not a happy customer

Outstanding product with clear instructions and very helpful video on the website. I followed these instructions exactly and installation went smoothly without a hitch (pun intended). I will definitely buy from etrailer again and recommend them to friends and family.

by:

Although the construction of the hitch is very good there is a problem with the way its constructed with respect to the welding of the hitch to the round bar to the flat mounting flanges. I don''t know if a fixture is used in the process and if there, is then it needs to be evaluated. After install it I used a hitch with an 8" length and found the bar was not level to the car. It pointed in a downward direction. I had to shim the back of the mounting flange to achieve some degree of levelness where the hitch goes. Before I did that I did check with a level to see if the car mounting surface was level to the floor and it was. After verifying that, I started with a machinist wedge and inserted it until I got a level reading. It turned out I had to shim both side 1/4". I bought several hitches from eTrailer in the past but they were made of square tubing and I had no problems. They still have the best around and will continue to buy from them.

by:

The hitch was shipped with care and received in excellent condition. The online installation instructions were simple and easy to understand. The hitch was well made.
Thank You.

2015 Honda Accord

Installed on a 2015 Accord Sport with Manual transmission to tow a trailer that holds my street motorcycle. I use it to tow my trailer for hundreds of miles to get my motorcycle to destinations with lots of curvy roads. The hitch is doing a wonderful job and this is my second one from Etrailer.com therefore I would highly recommend both the hitch and Etrailer.com.
P.S. Picture is of my first hitch also on a Honda Accord M/T.

Bought the hitch for our Honda Accord to carry our bikes on our hitch-mount carrier. It works fine for this but I wish I'd gone with the 2-inch insead of the 1.25 inch for more flexibility.

Weve since moved to a Honda CR-V hybrid for carrying our e-bikes and havent used the hitch on the Accord for a while. That said, it served us well when needed, and the new hitch and carrier we purchased from E-Trailer for the CR-V have been working great. Weve carried our ebikes all over the country in the past 18 months!

First I would like to say that etrailer.com was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I was notified of the progress of my order through several emails and was never left wondering when my order would arrive.
The Curt hitch is well made and intelligently packaged to prevent damage. I watched the installation video on the etrailer.com website before I ordered so I knew what to expect. The installation was child's play; it took less than an hour.
The hitch is being used the mount a 3 bike rack. The total weight of the rack and bikes is about 100 pounds. The hitch is rock solid and has no trouble at all supporting this load.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase and installation.

by:

Easy install. Thanks for the video. I watched the video and read the directions, could not have been better. Right down to cutting the heat shield, just use the dimensions shown and you will be good. Took about 45 minutes to install, taking my time, and that includes jacking the rear and letting it down. Thanks etrailer again for another hitch and the support that comes with it. Saved $280 doing myself, including the harness, over what xhaul. wanted.

by:

Excellent instructions and easy to inst all.
Thx,

2017 Honda Accord

Great product - highly recommended. I purchased this one for a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. The Touring/Hybrid comes with an additional cover that hides the driver side frame where the hitch mounts. I removed the plastic cover, took some basic measurements, and cut it to allow access for the hitch to be bolted in. I then reinstalled the plastic cover before installing the hitch. From there, just follow the standard instructions. I had to make the modification to the exhaust heat shield as depicted in the included instructions. Everything else was straight-forward. I've installed and used this same hitch on another Accord, so I know it is bullet-proof.

Clutch!!!! Ordered from this website twice and delivery was perfect, it’s understandable when there is delays due to COVID but honestly, etrailer.com has always came through when I needed. Just to put this particular transaction into prospective, I arrived at [towing store] (bless their hearts) for my scheduled appointment and found that they didn’t have any hitches for my vehicle in stock but had already placed some on back order. Not sure if it was etrailer or one of your competitors but mine and theirs came in at the same day. Just in time for my planned trip. I had a small window to decide how I was going to move my fishing equipment for my move/fishing vacation because that’s just how we operate in the military sometimes. I can’t believe I drove 897 miles using this hitch assembled with a 5x8 trailer with approximately 500+lbs of fishing equipment with my 2017 Honda Accord sedan. It was flawless. I would imagine it’s not recommended to drive over a certain speed limit but let’s just say I wouldn’t recommend it either..again flawless, it was raining too by the way. Overall I am satisfied with my first trip and will be looking forward to utilizing this for my kayak. It would be excellent to be able to pull up at the boat ramp in a small Honda Accord and launch close to the boat ramp fully rigged for a in/out scenario. That is my goal.

2013 Toyota Tacoma

I have a 2013 Honda Accord. I have a small 12' aluminum fishing boat with a trailer. We also have a Tacoma. When I do not have the Tacoma I can't fish, take the kids on the boat, and I can't go to the lumber yard or transfer station because I didnt have a hitch on the Accord. I did some research and saw etrailer. The website was easy to navigate, I was able to choose the right hitch for my car without guessing, and the wire harness was easy to pick out as well. I was told it would be a week for shipping, I got it in 3 days. The installation was pretty easy, take your time with fish wire, but it can be done. The light set up was all plug and play, nice and neat. I hooked up boat trailer, tested lights, and zipped around the neighborhood. Very excited to be able to pull small stuff with the Honda. The price was right, the shipping was right, the product fit like it said, and I am a happy customer!

by:

This hitch is by far well done built , easy to install and they shipped the same day so very happy with my purchase.

by:

Has been wonderful, highly recommend!

I was able to install this in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Installation video and heat shield cutting instructions were on point. The only challenging part was undoing and putting back the muffler hockey puck holders. Make sure to wd-40 before you even attempt to pull those rubber things off. Anyways, I was determined and all turned out very good. In lew of raising the car, I was able to park it on an inclined driveway and had plenty of room to work with. I just used a sturdy box to hold up the muffler, no muffler strap necessary. Plus, when the car is lower to the ground, it helped lifting the thing a tad bit easier, being that I was solo on a this project. This thing had some heft to it. Just make sure you have all the tools in the instructions readily available. Don’t forget a sharpie so you can trace out the cutting line on the heat shield. Another good thing I found out is that you can occasionally check the tightness on the nuts cause they’re exposed convenient for easy future access. I foresee many years of confident service from this bad boy.

  • Would Hitch Adapter HT5R Clear Rear Bumper of 2017 Honda Accord
From the center of the pin hole of the part # HT5R to the back of the upper hitch opening tube measures 3-1/2 inches. You would need to have less than 3-1/2 inches from the pin hole on your hitch out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper. When we installed the Curt hitch part # C11681 that you have installed on your 2017 Honda Accord we found that the dimension in question was 2-1/2 inches so the adapter would fit and work well.
