This hitch is built for straightforward DIY installation. It bolts right on with no welding required, using the supplied hardware and instructions. The precision, robotic welding gives it a factory-level fit and strength, so alignment is right where it should be. Once it's on, the 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening is ready for light towing or accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers rated within its limits.
With a Class I rating, this hitch is set up for smaller towing jobs and everyday utility. It’s rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 200 lbs. Install looks great Mark! I am glad we had the right fit for you so you can get out doing what you love! Do you have specific trail you like to ride? We have the Katy Trail here in Missouri and it is always loaded with riders when the weather is nice.

James,Thank you for your review. If you are looking for a wiring harness that does not require splicing into your existing wiring I recommend Item # 119250KIT. This Tekonsha wiring harness is not consider a plug and play application but the sensors on this wiring harness clamp onto your factory tail light wiring to detect current but you will still have to run the black power wire to the cars battery.

The 12V feed for the wiring can be tricky without a lift, I like to use ramps.

It is so wonderful when companies supply all the hardware and those special fishwires to make our lives easier Alvin! I hate starting a job only to find out I need to make a run to the hardware store. I have helped with my fair share of hitch installs here at etrailer on the lifts, this weekend I will be putting a hitch on my Ford Escape in my driveway to get the full neighbor (customer) experience =) What do you mainly use your hitch for? I just fell in love with riding a bike again, I have the rack, just need a way to haul it.
