Rear Suspension Support

SumoSprings helper springs are great for RVs or motor homes. Heavy rear loads can cause sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the motor home's weight. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

SumoSprings diagram of installation above existing vehicle spring

Each spring in this kit is bolted to two mounting brackets. One bracket is attached to the frame of your vehicle, and the other bracket is attached to the axle, typically above your existing factory leaf spring. Because each helper spring is in full contact at the top and bottom of the suspension's travel, the expanding and contracting action of the SumoSprings enhances your ride under all conditions, not just when it's loaded. And the closed-cell urethane springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

SumoSprings compressing under load

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

SumoSprings expanding to allow play in the suspension

These springs extend in height by as much as 50 percent to allow more movement in your suspension when you're traveling unloaded, making your ride smoother and more comfortable.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings expand and compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

This kit comes with custom-fit brackets that are designed to easily bolt onto your vehicle.

  • Best Upgrades to Improve Ride Quality/Stability of 2019 Winnebago Vista 31BE
For RV suspension enhancement the SumoSprings are the way to go. They do the best job giving additional support that reduces sag, offering anti-sway characteristics, and also helping smooth out ride quality. Installing a second set of suspension enhancement would do more harm than good, but I do have something else that would be very helpful. See last paragraph for that. So for the rear you'd want the part # SSR-184-40-1 which is a confirmed fit and then for the front part # SSF-170-40-2...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement and Steering Stabilizer for 2018 Jayco Alante 26X
To smooth out the ride on your 2018 Jayco Alante 26X I recommend the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-184-40-1, which are a fit for your Jayco that is built on a Ford F-53 chassis. The SumoSprings will compress vertically which will help absorb the bumps; they are also going to help reduce the amount of sway and body roll of your RV to further enhance the driving experience of your Jayco. A steering stabilizer will also let you enjoy your travels more by helping you stay...

  • Recommended Anti-Sway Bar and Steering Stabilizer for 2015 F53 Chassis Motorhome
On your 2015 Thor ACE motorhome on Ford F53 chassis, the size of the vehicle often will have the effects you mentioned. The best solution is to add Anti-sway bars and a steering stabilizer. I recommend adding the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Motor Homes # RM-1139-145 first as the rear sway is what you feel the most when crosswinds and passing semi trucks come and this model is the correct fit for your vehicle weight. This system mounts to the rear axle and the frame to balance the...

For your 2015 Itasca Sunstar 27N, I recommend the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-184-40-1. These springs are a confirmed fit for your vehicle and will give you 3,000 lbs capacity at 50% compression. These springs will compress as much as 80 percent and will progressively help with the load as needed. The greatest help when using these springs is the support as they work independently for off-center loads and stability to reduce body roll. For the front,...

  • Sway Bars and SumoSprings for 2018 Winnebago 26 Intent Ford F-53 Chassis
The general consensus with the Airtabs is that they are more of a gimmick than anything else. I would not recommend them for you. If you've already installed the Roadmaster sway bars part # RM-1139-146 and # RM-1139-148 as well as a steering stabilizer the next thing I'd recommend is SumoSprings # SSF-170-40-2 for the front and # SSR-184-40-1 for the rear and you'll have your motorhome handling very nicely.

  • Steering Stabilizer, Sway Bars & SumoSprings For 2023 Entegra Coach Vision On Ford F-53 18K Chassis
Yes, the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer # RM63RR is going to be superior to both the Bilstein and Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizers for your 2022 Ford F53 V8 18K Chassis under your 2023 Entegra Vision RV Motorhome. The Roadmaster has tandem gas struts that help to keep the steering centered rather than just dampening the travel like the shock type stabilizers you get from Bilstein and Safe-T-Plus. In my experience combining the steering stabilizer with the Front # RM72MR and...

For your 2023 Coachmen Pursuit 31BH you will need the Front SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSF-170-40-2 and Rear SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-184-40-1. If you were to select only one to install first I recommend the rear springs since that is where the majority of your weight sits and they will help to reduce the amount of body roll you feel. • Recommended Jounce Springs for Two-Wheel Drive 2019 Ford F-53 Chassis
The jounce springs I recommend for your two wheel drive 2019 Ford F-53 chassis are from SumoSprings, the SumoSprings Rebel for the front axle and SumoSprings Maxim for the rear axle. The reason why the SumoSprings are the best is because they not only work to reduce sway, but also keep your vehicle level and give you a smoother ride. The SumoSprings can do this because they are made of a microcellular urethane which compresses. Each of the springs works independently which is what is going...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement For a 2023 Entegra Vision 29S On 2022 Ford F-53 V8 Chassis
I have a better solution for you as the Timbren Front # TFFF53B and Rear # TFRF53A will create a very stiff ride for your 2023 Entragra Vision 29S. I feel their jounce springs are great for commercial applications and extreme weights but with the delicate trims and construction of your cabinetry the SumoSprings Front # SSF-170-40-2 and Rear # SSR-184-40-1 are going to be a much better option. These are constructed of a microcellular urethane which is much better at absorbing shock and will...

To improve the ride quality of your 2021 Jayco Alante Motorhome, there are a few enhancements that you can make. You are correct in choosing front and rear SumoSprings along with a steering stabilizer first. For the steering stabilizer, I verified the correct fit for your rig is the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer # RM63RR. • Best Way to Reduce Sway & Body Roll on 2019 Winnebago Intent 29L on Ford F-53 Chassis
You are certainly not alone in looking for a way to reduce the amount of sway and body roll when driving a motor home but there are great solutions to remedy those white-knuckle moments when going side-by-side with a semi or meeting crosswinds. The best way to reduce the sway and enhance the ride of your 2019 Winnebago Intent 29L built on a Ford F-53 chassis is to add a rear anti-sway bar, followed by a front anti-sway bar, and after that a steering stabilizer.
