While standard putty tapes tend to crack and dry out over time, this QTDG tape holds up to the elements far longer. The tacky, malleable tape creates a watertight seal around RV roof components, adheres to most surfaces, and is easy to work with.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Alpha Systems Trim Grade QTDG Tape. Now, while this may look like butyl tape, it is actually a little bit different. This is a malleable tape that's going to create a nice watertight seal around your windows, doors, and trim pieces on your RV. It does adhere to metal, fiberglass, wood, glass, plastic, and painted surfaces.
So just about anything that you're going to need it to adhere to it will. Now, this is a non-drying compound that is formulated to trim easily from molded surfaces, so you're not going to have to use a blade. So it's going to be great for around your fender skirt or sidewalls or anywhere where you're using a sharp blade for trimming could potentially damage the area, and you want to avoid that.So as you can see, I just put my fingernail in it a moment ago, and it's very malleable, very easy to trim away. So even if you're just using your fingernail or something that's not going to cause damage to the surrounding area, it's going to be very easy to trim away. The material is very stable.
Once you have it compressed between your two surfaces it's not going to expand and contract with the changes in temperature. So it's going to hold up very well. This is right at a half inch in width by around about one eighth in thickness. You're going to get 30 feet in this role. So it should be quite a bit for your project.
Depending on what you're doing you may need more or less. And we do have other options as far as the thickness and width go. So if you need something that's maybe a little bit thicker, we've got other options for you if you're at etrailer.com.As far as getting this applied, you can see it does have the backing material to it. It's going to apply to just about any clean and dry surface. Just press the tape onto one surface, remove the paper backing, and then adhere that to the second surface.
Pull the tape off easily, or remove all of the excess that you need to trim off. You can see this is a dark gray, almost black color. So it should work for those dark applications that you're trying to mold to.It is made here in the USA. So you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust the products made here in the US. And it does come with a one-year limited warranty. So if you we're to have any problems within that first year, you could give us a call. We'd be happy to help you out with that. We always want to make sure that our customers are satisfied with their experience with us. So I don't think you're going to have any problems with any of that.I think this is going to do a good job for you. Making sure that you are able to put those window trims and things up and have a nice watertight barrier to ensure that everything is the way that it needs to be for you. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
