Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Americana 14-inch by 5-1/2-inch, black-machined, AM02 series, aluminum trailer wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now, this aluminum wheel is a durable, lightweight, and rustproof wheel. We mentioned it is the Americana AM02 series, which is a split five-spoke design with a black finish. You can see it uses a machined finish on the face of the spokes and even on the lip to give a nice shine to the wheel. Now, the front and the back of the wheel are clear-coated to protect against scuffs and scratches.
Now, one of the nice features I like on this wheel is they use the steel inserts right here that are pressed into the lug nut wells, and that's designed to help keep your wheel securely in place on the trailer hub. Basically what that does is when you put your lug nuts on there and tighten it down, it prevents those holes from wearing down over time, so it eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, if you notice the center cap is not included. If you do want one, we do sell those separate on our website. You do want to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole because when you install it, it will install through this hole.
Pilot hole diameter is 3.19 inches. Now, the wheel is a high-quality wheel. Does meet the DOT specifications. Few dimensions on this, we're going to measure the diameter and the width. And when you measure the diameter, you're going to measure inside to inside because what you're measuring is this is where the tire bead will seat on the wheel.
So you're measuring from bead seat to bead seat. So if we take our tape measure, and if we go straight across, you see there's your 14-inch diameter. And if you do the width, it's the same way, bead seat to bead seat or inside to inside, 5-1/2 inches for the width. Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. And if you want to measure that on a wheel like this, that's an odd number of lugs.
What you want to do is pick any hole, let's say this hole right here, and then you're going to measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this wheel, it's going to measure 4-1/2 inches. So that means it's a five-lug, 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. It will use a wheel lug size of 1/2-inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,150 pounds. That's going to do it for a look at the Americana 14-inch by 5-1/2-inch, black-machined, AM02 series, aluminum trailer wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern.
