Question:
I have a 24 foot utility trailer used to haul a car. It is rated at 10000lbs with 5200lb axles. It came with 225/75-15 tires. The rims on it are very rusted and I have a complete set of rims from my 5th wheel rv like new but they are 16 rims. My question is: is there a tire i.e. 225/75-16 that I can get to use those 16 inch rims with on this trailer that would be load rated for up to 10000 lbs? I see some LT tires that would work, some say they are OK others say the sidewall is not as thick as an ST but can I still use the LT? Or is there another tire I can use that is 16. I have to go with 225/75 because the current 225/75-15 on it only leaves about an 1.5 inch clearance on the front side.

The smallest size trie we have which fits on a 16" wheel is 235/80-16. This has an overall diameter that is 2-1/2" larger than your current tires so it wouldn't provide enough clearance. Your best option is to replace the 15" wheels.
One of our most popular 15" wheels with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern is the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20514 but if you have the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern you would want to go with the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20537 instead.
Attached is a link to our selection of 15" wheels for you to filter through if neither of these options seem like the right fit for your trailer.
