1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Americana 16 inch by six inch wide AM03 Series Gunmetal Gray Machined Aluminum Trailer Wheel with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. As we mentioned, it's an a M03 series wheel, which as you can see, the eight open spoke design in the gunmetal gray finish.
And what's nice, if you notice, if I tilt this a little bit, you might see the reflection. Around those openings of those spokes, they do have a machine silver face on them. Provides a nice, bold sweep look. The gunmetal gray finish is a glossy finish. Now they do use a clear coating on the front and even on the back wheel to help protect the finish.
A few measurements on this wheel I wanna give you is the diameter, which we said is 16 inches. And the diameter is always measured inside to inside. So if we get our tape measure, then you can see if I go all the way across, inside the inside, there's your 16 inch diameter. The width of the wheel is always also measured inside to inside, or bead seat to bead seat. And on this, you'll see is six inches wide.
Now the bolt pattern on this wheel, we mentioned, is an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, like in this case, eight, it's pretty easy, because if you notice the lug holes are directly opposite of each other. So what you want to do is when you go to measure a bolt pattern and pick any hole, let's say this one, measure from the center of this hole directly down to the center of the hole right across from it. So if we go center to center, it's gonna measure six and a half inches. So this is an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern.
The wheel lug size that's used on this wheel is a half inch by 20, or a nine 16ths by 18. This does have a weight capacity of 4,400 pounds. Now one of the nice features on this wheel that I like is they use in the lug nut wells here, the steel inserts are pressed in there. And the reason they do that is it helps keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. So when you put your lug nuts on the stud and tighten it down, it prevents the holes from wearing down or elongating. And it's nice 'cause it eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now the wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do want one, we do sell those separately on a website. Now when you do get a center cap for this, you do need to get it by the diameter of this pilot hole, 'cause your center cap will go in through this hole from the rear. So the diameter of this pilot hole is 4.9 inches. So when you get a center cap, you wanna make sure it has that same diameter. Now this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and the SAE J2530 standards. But that's gonna do it for the review on the Americana 16 inch by six inch AM03 Series Gummetal Gray Machine Aluminum Trailer Wheel.

The rims
nice looking wheels.
Wheels came as advertised installed them today .
I've had a horrible experience over the last two weeks trying to get rims for my camper from other places only to get the wrong rims or rims that wouldn't fit. I received the four rims from etrailer that fit perfectly however very slight amount of damage to two of them in shipping. They use UPS which is a whole lot better than FedEx
Wheels were scuffed on back side during shipment.
Front sides were protected by a plastic cover ring and were ok.
Wheels were rolling around inside boxes and rubbing on one another.
My suggestion, either pack wheels inside their own box or place plastic rings on both sides of wheels.

I have been happy with the quality of the products we have bought in the past, and have not had any issues.
This latest order has a few problems. one of the rims has been damaged along the edge, it is small and will not effect the bead sealing it is just a eye sore. I cannot wait to get a replacement I have already mounted the tire and installed it on a trailer. Three of the center caps are damaged and not useable. Again i could not wait for replacements since I am leaving with this trailer in 2 days to go out of state. I found the same center caps and purchased them at a local trailer place so I could keep things moving.
The rim is what it is, however I would like you to refund me the cost of the center caps.
I ordered 7 of these wheels. This is an exceptional wheel from Kenda USA. I really appreciate the steel inserts for the lug nuts. They definitely aid in keeping the lug nut torqued to spec. All the wheels came properly packaged and were a great price. One wheel came with an imperfection/damage and the manufacture was prompt to rectify immediately after I sent a video and pictures. I rate this wheel an A++ not to mention they look amazing. Thank you etrailer and Kenda.
Had these delivered and installed on our horse trailer. They look great. There were a couple scuffs from shipping but as this is a horse trailer I was not too concerned. They look great on the trailer.
