Looking For Replacement Shackle Straps For 2016 Carson Trailer

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/14/2024

Question:

I’m looking for some trailer shackle straps for a 2016 Carson Trailer. Mine are worn and oblong . I can’t measure the exact center of the holes. The bolts holes are about 2 1/2” on center…maybe 2 5/8”. Overall length is 3 3/4”. With is 1 1/2”. The bolts are 1/2 inch x 3 5/16”. They could be metric as the rockers are stamped “CHINA”. Almost everything I find has 3/4” diameter bolts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve

Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out. We do have a replacement shackle strap that is very close to the measurements you provided. Take a look at the Shackle Strap - 2-9/16" Long part # TRSL256. This has bolt holes 2-9/16" apart on center, and it is 3-7/8" long overall. It is designed to work with a 9/16" suspension bolt which is a very common size. I have provided a diagram with more detailed dimensions for you below. The width of our shackle is 1-1/4" long but that is not going to change fitment. I do recommend you replace all of the shackles on your trailer at the same time.

Since all of your shackles are worn, an upgraded shackle and bolt kit would be a worthwhile investment. The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR46ZR is a great option that comes with 9/16" wet bolts, bronze bushings and heavy-duty 1/2" thick shackle straps. So not only will this help smooth out the suspension, but the components will easily last much longer than the stock parts with proper care. This kit comes with 2-1/4" long shackles which is within tolerance as long as all of the shackles are replaced at once.

Hey Steve, how did things turn out with the replacement shackle strap and the MORryde upgrade kit for your Carson trailer? Did the fit and ride quality meet your expectations? Your update could make it easier for others working on similar trailers.
