When it comes to securing your trailer's leaf spring suspension, having the right size bolt is crucial. The Shackle Bolt with a 1/2" diameter offers just the right fit for mounting a double-eye spring inside both front or rear hangers. This means less hassle and more reliability on the road, ensuring your trailer stays exactly where it should.
Worried about rust and corrosion ruining your suspension bolts? The reversible locknut that comes with this shackle bolt is zinc-plated, offering robust corrosion resistance. Whether you live in a humid climate or frequently hit the open road, this feature helps keep your bolts rust-free for the long haul.
For those who demand both strength and reliability, this shackle bolt doesn’t disappoint. It boasts a Grade 5 rating, identified by the three radial lines on its head. This means it offers impressive tensile strength for handling the everyday bumps and grinds of trailer travel, letting you tow with confidence.
Fit matters when you're setting up your trailer's suspension system. The 3-inch length of this bolt provides ample grip to ensure your springs and hangers are solidly connected. This improved security translates to smoother rides and a more stable towing experience.
Who says assembly should be complicated? The reversible locknut feature allows you to thread it onto the bolt from either side, making installation straightforward and adaptable to your needs. It's a small detail that saves time and effort, getting you back on the road faster and easier.

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the half inch diameter shackle bolt with the lock nut for double-eye springs. Now, this half inch diameter shackle bolt is used to mount a double-eye leaf spring to your front or rear hanger that's on your trailer suspension. This does include the half inch by 20 size lock nut, and if you notice, the lock nut has a zinc plating to it for corrosion resistance. It is for a quantity of one shackle bolt and one lock nut.A few dimensions on this, the length, and when we measure the length, it will be measured from under the hex head to the end of the bolt, so this one's going to measure right at three inches for the length.
The diameter we mentioned is a half inch diameter. The threads on the end are 20 threads per inch, and the lock nut again is a half inch by 20 size, so it is designed to fit on the end there and lock down. Now, the hex head size and the size socket for the nut is the same. It uses a three quarter inch size socket. I happened to pull one here. Again, you can see it fits onto the head and it also fit the lock nut.
On the bolt, if you look at the head, this is a grade five rating on the bolt, and the way to tell that is when you look at the head, you'll see three straight lines. That indicates that it is a grade five rated bolt. That should do it for the review on the half inch diameter shackle bolt with the lock nut for double-eye springs..
