Replacing a hub can turn into a mess when you still have to pack bearings and match small parts before the wheel goes back on. This idler hub is pre-greased with the bearings, races, and seal already installed, so you have less prep work before mounting it on a compatible 4,400-lb axle.
When bearing or hub trouble happens on the road, having a spare hub can keep the trip from stopping there. This pre-assembled Lippert hub packs easily in your tow vehicle, and because the bearings, races, seal, lug nuts, and easy lube dust cap are included, it gives you a faster path to getting the trailer rolling again.
This hub fits 14" to 15" wheels with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and 1/2" zinc-plated wheel studs. It is made for idler wheel ends only and cannot be used with trailer brake systems.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Lippert pre-greased trailer idler hub assembly. Now, this idler hub assembly kit is a complete replacement wheel end solution for a trailer with a 4,400 pound axle that doesn't use trailer brakes. This comes with the essential components needed to replace a worn or damaged hub and the bearings are already pre-greased and installed, making insulation quicker and easier by eliminating the need to pack the bearings yourself. Now, this hub is made from durable cast iron for long lasting strength, while the zinc-plated wheel bolts help resist rust and corrosion, especially in harsh weather or road conditions. It's designed to accept the press-in dust caps if you want to add them though, those are sold separately.
So this hub is gonna fit trailers using 14 or 15 inch wheels on a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern and the wheel bolts are half an inch. Now, because this is an idler hub, it is intended for trailers without braking systems and should not be used on axles equipped with trailer brakes. And it includes everything that you see here on my table before me. But overall, this is gonna be a straightforward durable replacement hub that's gonna be great for restoring the wheel end on a non-brake trailer while making installation as simple as possible thanks to it being pre-greased.
