This Dexter idler hub comes pre-greased, so you can skip packing bearings by hand. It’s ready to slide straight onto your #84 spindle—no extra steps, no cleanup. The hub fits 3,500-lb axles and supports a 1,750-lb load capacity. Everything you need is here: inner bearing (L68149), outer bearing (L44649), races (L68111 and L44610), grease seal (58846), grease cap, and 1/2" lug nuts. It’s a full assembly that saves setup time and gets you rolling faster.
Greasing your bearings doesn’t have to mean pulling the whole hub apart. The included E-Z Lube-compatible grease cap gives you direct access to the zerk fitting on your spindle. Just remove the rubber plug, attach the grease gun, and inject fresh grease—it flows through to both bearings. This keeps water and dirt out while preventing corrosion inside the hub housing.
Durability matters when you’re towing over long distances or hauling in varied conditions. Dexter builds this hub from sturdy iron for consistent strength under load. Combined with precision fit bearings and races, it delivers smooth rotation and helps maintain even wear across your wheel setup from trip to trip.
The hub is engineered for 3,500-lb axles using #84 spindles, making it straightforward to match with common replacement parts. The inner bearing has a 1.378" inner diameter and the outer bearing measures 1.063". Combined with a grease seal inner diameter of 1.719" and a 5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern, everything lines up cleanly for an exact fit with 13"–15" wheels.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Good wheel hubs complete with all necessary mounting parts. Unfortunately one of the four hubs didn't have the correct grease seal with it. One seal instead of having two sealing lips, only had a single inner seal ring with no tensioner spring. If not for that one grease seal it was a good order, reasonable pricing and very quick shipping.
Excellent quality hub from a well known and trusted manufacturer. 4-3/4" bolt circle not as common as most 4-1/2" bolt circle hubs offered by other vendors, but that suited my purposes perfectly. All parts were included, and I would buy this again without hesitation.
Product arrive ahead of schedule, put in service, and worked perfectly. I am beyond satisfied. This replaced 5 X 4 1/2 with 5 X 4 3/4 - this is on the trailer, as yet unpainted.
