Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this etrailer galvanized steel rectangular backing plate for tandem-axle trailer fenders. This backing plate will offer extra support for your trailer fenders and adds extra splash protection, if used on an open trailer. This is designed to work with etrailer tandem axle trailer fenders. It is an 18-gauge galvanized steel, resist rust and corrosion.
And the thickness on this is about one 16th of an inch thick. This part is made in the USA. Again, it's for a quantity of one backing plate. Give you the dimensions on this. Overall length, it's going to be right at 69 inches.
The height is right at 12 inches tall. And one note on it is the backing plates are not to be used for mounting a fender to your trailer. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer galvanized steel rectangular backing plate for tandem-axle trailer fenders.

Fenders & backing plates were received in a timely manner. The fit was perfect for my needs with a easy install. The packaging could have been more substantial, the shipping company really abused the shrink wrapping & allowed for several scratches that shouldn’t been there.

Good match for the fenders I got with my trailer. The steel was clean and welded nicely to the fender and to bend I made to seal against the frame. The usual paint prep is recommended for finishing the job.

the good part was it was delivered early, the bad part was it delivered with bends put into it. So I tried to lay it flat on my garage floor and put some weights on it to get it straight. It sort of worked. I cut it to fit the fenders and was hoping to us rivits to hold it to the fenders, but due to being bent all over I will now have to weld it it to the fenders.

- Do You Carry Backing Plates for the Single Axle Jeep Style Trailer Fender - Cold Rolled Steel 8-12"?Hello Karl, We do carry backing plates, but the ones we do have would need to be cut to size to fit the Single Axle Jeep Style Trailer Fender - Cold Rolled Steel - 8" to 12" Wheels - Qty 1 # HP99VR. The width on the # HP99VR is 24" and the height is 8", so if you were to get the Backing Plate for Tandem Axle Trailer Fender - Steel - 69" x 12" # HP72FR the one sheet will be more than enough to do 2 wheels. I wish we had a backing plate in the size you need, but this would be your best...
view full answer... - Does etrailer Carry 108" Long Trailer FendersHey Scott, unfortunately the longest fenders we have are the Tri-Axle Teardrop Trailer Fenders # HP37VR which are 97" long and 9" wide, and will work with 14" to 15" wheels. Since you need pretty custom fenders, I'd suggest reaching out to your local fabrication shop and see if that's something they'd be able to do!
