Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the etrailer, Tandem Axle Bolt Together steel trailer fenders for 14 inch to 15 inch wheels. And it is for a quantity of two fenders. Now these rounded fenders will cover two tires on each side of your tandem-axle trailer. The fender itself will act as an nice splash guard to help keep road debrief from hitting other vehicles.
And it helps to protect your trailers cargo.I wanted to zoom in on them just to describe these are a bolt together design. And when I say that, it means each fender will come as two half fenders, a connecting plate, and then the hardware. It is designed to save shipping costs because of the smaller un-assembled size, when compared to a single piece fender of this size. It will also offer extra strength to the fender because of the way this is assembled. If you can see here underneath there's your connecting plate, that connects the two together, then you can see the grade five hardware that they use.
So when you put this all together, gives it a lot more strength also for the fender.Now the inner and outer edges on this, you can see both edges, both inner and outer edges. They have a nice one inch curve radius slip for extra protection and a nice top quality appearance. And the material is a sturdy 16 gauge cold rolled steel construction. Now it is a raw finish, so because of that you might see some surface rust spots on it, but you just sand those lightly to remove them. And then it needs to be primed and then painted to provide even more resistance to corrosion and to even match your trailer's paint finish.These are a weld on or bolt on installation.
They are not pre-drilled. And the mounting brackets for both on installation, we do sell separately on our website. These fenders are made in the USA. Application again is for tandem-axle trailers with 14 inch to 15 inch diameter wheels. This is for a quantity of two fenders.
The weight on these, each fender is about 13 pounds each. And the dimensions on the fenders, if we measured the length from that end all the way to that end, is going to be 64 and a half inches long. Width on them is nine inches. And the heights from the bottom to the very top is going to be right at 15 inches tall. I gave an excellent rating because the fender is excellent and very sturdy. The very long delivery time did put me in a bind but that was no fault of yours.
It looks great. I dry fitted the fender, I'm going to paint it real soon before final install. So far, so good.
Great fenders. Very stiff and easy to install. I ended up welding the two halves together, with the backer plate. It took a little trial and error to get them properly aligned to the inside splash guard already on my trailer. With some clamps and careful measurements it went quite well though.
The vendor worked out real well I would buy it again
I used these fenders to replace the crappy plastic ones that came on the trailer. i had to shorten them 2 inches and they work perfectly!!
