Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the etrailer, Tandem Axle Bolt Together steel trailer fenders for 14 inch to 15 inch wheels. And it is for a quantity of two fenders. Now these rounded fenders will cover two tires on each side of your tandem-axle trailer. The fender itself will act as an nice splash guard to help keep road debrief from hitting other vehicles.
And it helps to protect your trailers cargo.I wanted to zoom in on them just to describe these are a bolt together design. And when I say that, it means each fender will come as two half fenders, a connecting plate, and then the hardware. It is designed to save shipping costs because of the smaller un-assembled size, when compared to a single piece fender of this size. It will also offer extra strength to the fender because of the way this is assembled. If you can see here underneath there's your connecting plate, that connects the two together, then you can see the grade five hardware that they use.
So when you put this all together, gives it a lot more strength also for the fender.Now the inner and outer edges on this, you can see both edges, both inner and outer edges. They have a nice one inch curve radius slip for extra protection and a nice top quality appearance. And the material is a sturdy 16 gauge cold rolled steel construction. Now it is a raw finish, so because of that you might see some surface rust spots on it, but you just sand those lightly to remove them. And then it needs to be primed and then painted to provide even more resistance to corrosion and to even match your trailer's paint finish.These are a weld on or bolt on installation.
They are not pre-drilled. And the mounting brackets for both on installation, we do sell separately on our website. These fenders are made in the USA. Application again is for tandem-axle trailers with 14 inch to 15 inch diameter wheels. This is for a quantity of two fenders.
The weight on these, each fender is about 13 pounds each. And the dimensions on the fenders, if we measured the length from that end all the way to that end, is going to be 64 and a half inches long. Width on them is nine inches. And the heights from the bottom to the very top is going to be right at 15 inches tall. this solved an immediate problem for a number of trailers we have in our fleet. Our trailers are on the road covering many states 365 days a year. the original trailer fenders were diamond plate coated steel.
this particular set of fenders are smooth (not a problem we replaced them in pairs) the issue I have with this product is the rust that appeared after a month of sitting outside in the elements in Missouri. I sanded the fenders down taped off and bought a couple $8.00 cans of rustoleum spray paint to fix them.
Keep in mind where I am located and the weather fluxuation we have.
This product fit properly and was easy to install. The material I feel is inferior for the price

I ordered 66 inches, after a 2 month delay you sent me 73 inch length. They don't fit! Now I will have to cut them in half, adjust length and weld them back together!! A real real inconvenience and much more additional work.
Could have done that with the local farm and barn fenders 2 months ago.

Packaging sheet metal by wrapping in plastic only does not offer much protection. A sheet of flexible foam could have prevented the dings

I got a reminder today to leave a 1 year review. These fenders are a nice, economical replacement for broken or lost trailer fenders. The sheet metal is pretty thin, even with the optional backing plate they aren't stiff enough to stand on or put weight on. Mine flapped around a little bit at highway speed even when welded to the side of my trailer. The metal ended up cracking off at a stitch weld because of this movement. They're fine, just not OEM quality.

Came with a ding on one fender, probably during transit. If it had a wrap or two of foam inside the shrink wrap it might have come through without a scratch or ding.

Great fenders. Very stiff and easy to install. I ended up welding the two halves together, with the backer plate. It took a little trial and error to get them properly aligned to the inside splash guard already on my trailer. With some clamps and careful measurements it went quite well though.

Although due to a heavy work schedule, I have not been able to install the fenders however I will be within the next two months. I strongly believe they will be just fine. They appear to be well constructed and will be a perfect fit for either our enclosed cargo trailer or for our flatbed.

I would have given 5 stars but the first set of fenders I received were the wrong size. Customer service was extremely helpful and sent me out the correct ones and a prepaid return label.
The fenders come wrapped in plastic which was torn but there was no damage to the fenders other than minor scratches.
