The EZ-Latch coupler on this actuator takes the guesswork out of connecting your trailer. You don’t have to hold the latch open or wiggle it to get it to drop into place. Just lower the coupler onto your 2" hitch ball and listen for the click. The latch locks automatically and holds tight, so you can see and feel that it’s ready to go. The nylon-composite handle has a low-profile design that won’t snag or bend if something bumps it, and it’s strong enough to take a hit without breaking.
Inside the actuator, a heavy-duty steel housing rides on an acetal copolymer liner. This hard plastic surface is self-lubricating, so the moving parts glide instead of scrape. That means your braking stays consistent and quiet, even after years of use. The liner also protects against wear and binding, keeping your surge system working smoothly every time you slow down or stop.
The body of this actuator is plated with zinc that holds up against corrosion twice as long as standard coatings. With a 200-hour salt spray rating, it handles wet or salty environments with ease. That makes it ideal for boat trailers or any rig that sees a lot of water. The heavy-duty steel frame gives it an 8,000 lb gross towing weight and 800 lb maximum tongue weight rating, while the built-in 4" drop helps you line up perfectly with your tow setup.
The glass-reinforced nylon master cylinder won’t rust or pit like metal ones. It has an automotive-style diaphragm cap that seals out moisture and dirt, keeping brake fluid clean. The large reservoir gives you more capacity to prevent running low on long hauls or heavy stops. Together, these features deliver strong, consistent braking for disc brake systems without needing a separate brake controller.
This actuator bolts directly onto a 3" wide trailer tongue using 1/2" x 4-1/2" Grade-5 bolts (not included). It needs about 18" of space on the tongue and 2"–4" clearance behind the master cylinder for your brake line fitting. The bolt pattern matches standard three-hole setups, so it’s straightforward to install and get back on the road fast.

The product is awesome as is everything I have purchased from you in the past. As for the packaging...less than adequate by far. Luckily the product wasn't damaged. The box was destroyed and had been taped up by (I'm assuming) the carrier. No harm, no foul but putting a heavy object with sharp edges loosely in a box will never fare well. Packaging dept. needs a slap!

Thanks!! What a great experience with etrailer.com. Trailer needed many parts, rusted, broken etc. Tried to contact maker of trailer for replacement parts, bad experience. everything worked just as advertised. installation was pretty striate forward. I had to make a few changed to hydraulic lines but all worked fine.

The brake actuator is still working properly

Did not fit my trailer tong as it was not 3"sq. Quality of product is good, E trailer service is fantastic great people to work with, arrival time was as stated. My trailer Is not standard and brake assembly is no longer made for this tong. They did make some suggestions but I was able to find another supplier who had rebuild kit. The cost was much higher. Returns were easy. I use e-trailer as my first go to.
