You're lining up your equipment trailer, but the coupler won't engage the ball cleanly. This cast coupler uses an eZ-Latch that automatically engages when lowered onto a 2-5/16" ball, so you can hitch up and disconnect with less effort.
When your trailer gets hooked and unhooked often, a fussy latch slows everything down. The eZ-Latch lets you lower this coupler over your 2-5/16" hitch ball without tugging the latch open first, then it locks automatically once lined up. Your hookup routine gets simpler, faster, and easier to repeat.
Disconnecting should not turn into a wrestling match after a haul. Lifting the handle releases the coupler socket from the ball, giving your trailer a straightforward uncoupling step when it is time to park, unload, or switch trailers.
For equipment, dump, utility, and work trailers, the connection needs to match the job. This cast steel ball coupler is SAE J684 certified and rated for 15,400 lbs GTWR, giving your trailer hardware a defined capacity for heavy towing setups where a loose or questionable coupler is not worth keeping in service.
Road debris and close contact around the tongue can be hard on exposed latch handles. The low-profile eZ-Latch handle is contoured so hazards can slide over the top, and its impact-resistant polymer-nylon-resin construction is corrosion-proof. Your coupler keeps the latch area easier to operate after normal exposure to the road and weather.
When your trailer sits between jobs or trips, the eZ-Latch design gives you a 5/16" diameter side hole on the coupler body for a coupler lock. Installing a 1/4" diameter lock through that hole keeps the latch from lifting, helping your trailer stay secured while parked and keeping disconnect control in your hands.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Demco adjustable channel easy latch trailer coupler. Now this is a heavy duty cast ball coupler. This is designed to connect your trailer to your tow vehicle using your 2 and 5/16 inch hitch ball. And this is built for serious towing, has a weight capacity of up to 15,400 pounds. So this is gonna be a great option for larger or heavier trailers.
One of the standout features is going to be the easy latch mechanism. What's nice about this system is that you don't have to open up the latch before hooking up. You can leave it in the closed position and then drop the coupler right onto your 2 and 5/16 inch hitch ball. So I have one right here and I just wanna show you how easy this is going to be to use. So here's my ball.
As you notice, the latch is indeed closed. I'm just gonna drop the coupler over the ball and then it latches just like that. And then to disconnect, bring this into frame here. So you can see I'm just going to lift that latch and then that's going to allow me to easily disconnect from the ball. So that's gonna make hookup quicker and easier, especially if you're doing it by yourself.
Now the latch inside of the handle is made from corrosion. The latch handle itself, not inside, but the latch handle itself is made from a corrosion proof polymer nylon resin. So what all that means is this is durable, it's impact resistant, and it's not going to rust over time. The coupler also has a pretty sleek low profile design. So if something slides over the top like a jack handle or other gear, it's less likely to damage the latch components.
Now this does use an adjustable channel mount. Our holes here are two inches apart on center, so you're gonna be able to change the height of your coupler to match your setup. That's gonna be especially helpful if you need flexibility for different towing applications. Just keep in mind that the three inch wide channel bracket and mounting hardware are sold separately from this coupler. Let me give you some measurements here. Looking at the overall, what I'm calling length, just simply from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to seven and three quarters inches long. And then the overall height at the tallest point, about four and a half inches tall. But overall, this is going to be a strong, reliable, easy to use coupler that's built for heavier trailers and designed to make hookup as simple and secure as possible. If you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out because ultimately we do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

One year later and the coupler still works fantastic. Not a single issue and it quickly and securely connects the trailer to my car or ATV. The paint is holding up on it too, no rust. Excellent product, and Id 100 purchase it again.
