This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
Unlike most couplers, which only have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the latch and on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable red powder coat primed paint finish that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish has a 500-hour salt spray rating, making the coupler perfect for marine use.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Demco eZ-Latch Adjustable Channel Mount Trailer Coupler for a 2-5/16" hitch ball, has a 21,000 pound capacity, and has a nice prime powder coat finish to it. Now this ball coupler right here, will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It does provide the connection point for your 2-5/16" diameter hitch ball and this one uses the eZ-Latch mechanism, you can see which is a nice steel latch handle, ensures a nice, simple, secure hookup and disconnect. Basically, what's nice about the eZ-Latch, it'll let you hook up when the latch is in the closed position like it is right now. I want to demonstrate that.
I happen to pull, here's a 2-5/16" hitch ball. So to hook up, it's pretty simple. All you have to do is get the couple over the hitch ball, push down on it and you'll see it'll drops over the ball and the latch snaps into place and you're hooked up and ready to go. So you don't have to open it up, hook up, and then close it, just drop on, you're ready to go. To release it, all you have to do is lift up on the handle just like that, releases from the ball.
So it's very simple installation and removal. Now the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole right here through the side of the coupler itself. You can insert a coupler lock through this hole that'll keep the latch from lifting, prevents disconnect and theft. And those coupler locks we do sell separately on our website. They're usually listed on this product page as a related product.
The size you need for a coupler lock, the diameter of this pinhole is 5/16", and the minimum span, which would be this distance here for the pin lock would be 3". Now we mentioned it is for adjustable channel mount so it lets you change the coupler's height depending on the application. Now the channel bracket it goes in, and the mounting hardware is sold separately. The vertical distance between these adjustment holes center to center is 2". Now this is a sturdy steel construction.
This has a nice prime powder coat finish to it to give you excellent corrosion resistance. It does mean a 500 hour salt spray rating, so it's great for marine applications. This part is made in the USA. A few specs, again, this will mount onto a 3" wide channel bracket. again, the ball size it fits on 2-5/16", and the weight capacity is 21,000 pounds. For someone who kept forgetting to engage the lock this item has been the best investment on my trailer. (Funny thing is once I put this guy on there I don't forget to check that it is engaged.) In the event I forget I know the coupler will be engaged and safe. As far as weight rating I have pushed this guy to almost 18k and seen no stress or issues with it. The components are holding up great after a year.

Very good quality, construction, and finish. This was used to replace a 5000# rated coupler on my RV trailer that was just not strong enough. It has an extra 2-3" of length than the old coupler so make sure your safety chains have enough length to accommodate the extra length. One bonus for me was that the extra length was just enough to allow me to open the back door of my SUV with the trailer hitched (which I couldn't do before). The DEMCO coupler does take a 2 1/2" wide hitch pin /lock which is different than most couplers.
Heavy duty for sure. Drilling 1/2” holes in 1/4” thick angle iron on the trailer required more than a hand drill, but other than that installation was simple. Removing the original coupler was a chore because it was welded on both top and bottom. I had to use a hacksaw (3 blades), 2 lb mallet, large crowbar, steel chisel, grinder. Fortunately I had all that, and I’m very pleased with the result.

Installed this AWESOME hitch on my 20 ft equipment trailer after I upgraded to 8k axles. This hitch is a beast. I love the no touch when hooking up. Just lower the trailer down and it makes a positive lock sound. I welded the hitch to a 1/2 inch thick plate. Welded the plate onto the trailer and used my own gussets instead of the supplied ones. You won’t go wrong with this hitch!

Was very easy to install. I did have to grind a bit off the back so I could get clearance for the bolt holes to line up. Only took about 30 min to install.

I was a little disappointed when I opened the box yesterday and found that there was no keeper pin with the couplers now I have to go to town and find the right size ! I was thinking it would come with one ! should have a option to buy the correct one or just send one with !! thanks

Great fit. Easy fix. Replaced my worn thin ball hitch. Grade 5 1/2" bolts with lockwashers.
When my old coupler failed I was very happy to find a bolt on coupler this heavy as most are weld on for a trailer this heavy. I wish I would have changed the coupler years ago. I always had trouble with the old one. This one is so easy to latch and unlatch from my truck. It is great quality.

This is the best hitch on the market! I've changed over all 4 of my trailers to this hitch. Simple hook/unhook, releases off the ball smooth, no pins to mess with. The included steel bracket (product #DM6125-81) is super heavy duty & so is the hitch itself, plenty heavy for any 2 5/16" trailer. I hacked off my existing hitches w a cutoff saw, welded a plate then the bracket and did each of my trailers , w paint, in less than an hour.
I have this same hitch on another trailer and is the easiest to use and no question it's locked. E-trailer is always willing to answer questions about product and are very knowledgeable about products.

Great coupler, although it doesn't fit on the trailer I bought it for as my trailer only has a 2 3/8" tubing instead of 3".
Latch seems flimsy but holds fine! Not super adjustable due to bolt installation…get an adjustable ball mount.
