This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable zinc coating that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish has a 300-hour salt spray rating, allowing it to stand up to the elements.
The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is constructed of an impact-resistant polymer-nylon-resin compound that provides the flexibility and strength needed to bounce back from a collision. The handle is corrosion-proof, allowing it to withstand whatever the road and the elements dish out.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Demco trailer coupler with adjustable channel. Now this cast ball coupler is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle giving you a connection point for your two and five sixteenths inch hitch ball. This easy latch mechanism is going to ensure simple secure hookup and disconnect letting you even hook up when the latch is in the closed position as it is now. You're just going to drop the coupler over the hitch ball and that latch is going to snap into place. So I wanna give you a brief demonstration of that. This is a two and five sixteenth inch hitch ball.
Obviously this is going to work easier when you have this actually mounted and installed but I just wanna show you how this will latch with that. This will connect with the latch closed so as you can see, a nice secure connection. And then to lift to disconnect you're just gonna lift this latch up and that's gonna let you remove the coupler from the ball. Now this has a corrosion proof polymer nylon resin composite latch handle that's durable and impact resistant. And the sleek low profile design is going to allow hazards to simply slip over the top of the coupler preventing damage to the latch components.
Now this coupler has a zinc finish which is going to give you that corrosion resistance with up to a 300 hour salt spray rating. Now the dimensions of this coupler the overall length of the coupler, and of course we have a portion of it inside of this channel. But the overall length from end to end we're sitting at about eight and one eighth inches long. And then the overall width of this coupler is two and seven eighths inches wide. And it, as you can see, I have it mounted into this three inch channel.
The you can install a pin lock if you so desire or a lock pin, and the diameter of that lock pin hole is five sixteenths of an inch and your lock would need to have a minimum span of three inches. And if you don't have a pin lock, we do have those options here at etrailer.com. Now this channel bracket is going to let you adjust the coupler's height to match different tow vehicles. And as you can see, this provides six mounting holes on each side, offering five mounting positions. And let me go ahead and retrieve my ruler here and just give you some overall measurements that might prove helpful for you.
So the overall height of this channel is 12 inches tall and then the width is three inches as you can see there. And the wall thickness is three eighths of an inch. And these mounting holes measure on center. Let's see if I can line that up here for you. As you can see, center to center of the mounting holes measure two inches on center. Now I do have this coupler loosely bolted to the bracket with the included four grade five bolts which will give you a secure rattle free connection when you actually have this tightened down and you can see the lock nuts there and of course there's washers here so I don't have this locked down but when you have that tightened down this is going to be rattle free and a whole lot more secure than how you see it right now. But I just wanted to give you an example of what this is going to look like when you have it all connected. Now this is made here in the USA of a sturdy steel construction that's gonna give you a weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. This is SAE J684 certified. And instructions are included to walk you through the simple installation process. Well that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Wow. This is what a trailer hitch should be. Up to now, I tended to buy trailer couplers based on low price, provided it was rated high enough for what I was pulling. This time, I decided to spend a few extra $$$ to get a premium coupler, and I wasn't disappointed. Coupling and un-coupling is the easiest I have ever experienced, fit and finish are excellent, and it looks built to last a lifetime. After years of struggling with a trailer coupler that was difficult to latch and unlatch, this is a breeze (you had to have things lined up exactly, and then still look/reach underneath to be sure the little 'catch' had grabbed the ball, plus fight against a spring-loaded lever to latch). With this coupler, you just park so the ball is under the coupler, and lower the trailer. As you lower the trailer, the little release lever will start to rise up off the coupler. When it 'snaps' back down, you are locked in place. Couldn't be easier. To unlock, just flip the lever up, and raise the trailer. No fighting a little latch that requires you to be exactly centered before it will latch, no way the latch can miss holding the ball in place, and no fighting the catch to un couple. I wish I would have known about this style of coupler years ago. It costs a few dollars more (but not much for one of equal tow ratings) but it works better than any other coupler I have used. Well worth it, if you hook and unhook your trailer with any frequency at all.
I have built several trailers in the past and I am currently building a tilt bed car trailer. I have made several purchases from etrailer.com They are great people to deal with and all of the products that I have purchased have met or exceeded my expectations. For this build I am using dropped axles which make the trailer tongue 5 inches lower than one with straight axles. I needed to be able to raise the coupler to prevent using a drastically dropped draw bar on the tow 4WD tow truck. I chose the Demco channel mount adjustable coupler to allow for the needed adjustment for different tow vehicles. This is a very well built coupler that attaches to the channel with 4 high strength bolts, not 2 like most other mounts. It also features auto latch system so you just lower the trailer onto your ball and the Demc automatically locks on the ball. Great product.

Supper fast shipping.
Perfect addition to my new trailer. The original junk coupler was a pita to use.Had to use free hand to hold lock back while jacking up to remove trailer from truck.Honestly looking forward to using the trailer now.
I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
Awesome coupler!!! Lookin for a robust coupler…. Look no further!
Solid construction, simple and nearly foolproof latching mechanism. Definitely an upgrade from the Apex coupler that came with my trailer.
One recommendation I have is that when installing this coupler (or most any coupler) in your trailer's C-channel, check the side play inside the channel and add a washer or two between channel and coupler to remove the slack space and get a solid fit.
After having my trailer disconnect (yes, I had the right ball size) from a low-tolerance stock coupler, I replaced it with this one. The coupler works great. I've never had the lock mechanism bind like the cheap ones, it's taken a lot of the "slop" and jerk action out of towing, and it's certainly never come disconnected. Great product, and plan to have them on ALL future trailers.
The coupler that came with our teardrop did the job, but getting hooked up and secure on the ball was a real pain that would take multiple attempts to reposition it before it dropped fully in place. I like the Demco eZ-latch. So much better. I uploaded 3 photos: 1) original coupler, 2) trailer frame with new holes drilled and old holes filled with Bondo, 3) Demco coupler in place. The changeover was very easy.
We have four trailers, all got converted to these couplers. Four bolts is a much better design than just two. Even my dad (who hates change overall) said, "These couplers are way better than the old style." They release easy and snap right into place. No complaints at all. We'll never go back.
Coupler appears to be well built. I'm certain that 5 stars is deserved. I may update my review later, but first I need to make the coupler work on my "not standard trailer".
Packaging efforts need to be stepped up a bit. I've seen other comments stating the same.
Great upgrade to my heavy trailers. Would be 5 stars if the locking pin hole would accept a larger diameter lock or a padlock.
Really satisfied with the fit as well as the function of the latch. It gives me piece of mind with my 18 ft tractor hauler. 5 stars if the 6 bolts would have been includdd
I really like this coupler! Very easy to use, no more fighting to decouple my equipment trailer. Simple to hook up.
The hitch is excellent for our 14,000lb equipment trailer.
Only issue is the hole for the padlock was too small for any locks and we drilled it out to accommodate one.
Con- Shipping was not very good. It was returned to the dealer twice because it was sent via United Postal Service and our shop has not Post office box. Only a location address. The USPS does not take packages to our location. We could not seem to get the package sent via UPS or FedEx to us.
Only time this has happened when ordering from etrailer.
The ease of latching and not having to lift the latch handle is very nice and unlachine it's a breeze, works very well very happy with the coupler
I ordered a black coupler set. You told me it would be available in several weeks, by Sept 20 something. I went online to look and you pushed the delivery out until late Oct or early Nov. I called and you actually have one in stock but it's white. I don't care about the color. I asked your rep to sell me the white one for the same price. He refused. How do you get $[XX] more for white??? I paid it as I need the trailer back. You are better than this.
Was the perfect part to replace the pintle hitch that was previously on my 15K trailer.
I’m a 75 year old disabled woman who was about to give up traveling due to the efforts to hitch and unhitch my trailer. I got this new hitch installed and it changed my life; it is effortless. I’m on the beach now while a winter storm is raging around the U.S. thank you so much for a hitch that changed my life.

Still the best coupler I have. I have used it extensively, even doing some pulling with a tractor, and the coupler never fails to connect easily, and securely, and unlatches easily. If it seems reluctant to unlatch, just pull ahead a little to relieve pressure on the lock.
