Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexter 12 1/4 inch E-coat hub and rotor disk brake kit with the eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern for 7,000 pound axles. These trailer brake assemblies will make it very easy to upgrade from drum brakes to disk brakes for better performance. Disk brakes will give you more consistent stopping even at highway speeds and even dramatically shorter stopping distances, and they are easier and less expensive to maintain. This kit will include two full brake assemblies for one axle. It includes everything laid out here on the table. The two E-coated hub and rotor assemblies, the two E-coated ductile iron calipers, the four semi-metallic brake pads, the two E-coated caliper mounting brackets with all the bolts, nuts, and even a little tube of inaudible 00:00:44 sealant.
Also includes the bearings, the bearing races, which are pre-installed in the hubs, grease seals, grease caps, and the lug nuts. The E-coat finish on this will help provide corrosion resistance for freshwater and limited saltwater use. The rotors themselves, if I turn it here you can see on the side here they are vented rotors; this will help regulate temperature to prevent overheating. Now the included hubs will replace your existing hubs. The calipers themselves, they are self-adjusting calipers. They ensure maximum surface contact for nice, smooth, equal breaking.
The brake pads that are included are semi-metallic brake pads, help resist heat, provide excellent grip. The mounting brackets, these are a ductile iron mounting bracket, which will provide strength and durability. Now a hydraulic brake actuator and brake lines are required for these brakes to be activated. We do sell those separately on our website, and it will require a PSI rating of at least 1,600 PSI. These parts are made in the USA. Again, this fits axles with a capacity of 7,000 pounds.
The wheel size that'll fit on these is 16 inch, 16 1/2 inch, and 17 inch. Bolt pattern is the eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Wheel bolt diameter is half inch. Total rotor diameter edge to edge is 12 1/4 inches, and this is a five-bolt brake flange configuration. You can see right here, and it includes the nuts to install it.
Now the bearings that are included, they do include the inner bearing, which is the larger. It's a 25580 number, 1.75 inch inner diameter. The outer bearing, the smaller, is part number 141258, has a 1.25 inch inner diameter. We mentioned the bearing races are pre-installed in the hubs. The seals, they use a double lip grease seal, part number GS-2250DL. These seals will have an inner diameter of 2.25 inches, outer diameter of 3.376 inches, and then they include the 16 half-inch by 20 size lug nuts, which are used to hold your wheel and tire assembly to these hubs. That should do it for the review on the Dexter 12 1/4 inch E-coat hub and rotor disk brake kit with the eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern for 7,000 pound axles.
