The TPR roller is a nice quality replacement for the older worn bow roller it replaces. Additionally, Chad was very helpful guiding me as the spacing between my roller forks measured 3-5/8” so I was concerned the 4” roller may not work. Chad asked the right question: where are you measuring? To which I said between the forks, he advised: measure outside dimension, and that confirmed the standard 4” spacing would work. This is a replacement on our boat trailer. Several months ago, I replaced the original that was getting aged, and the rubber was not as pliable as it used to be. After a few uses your roller I installed back in April, was ripped completely off one side while putting the boat back on the trailer. Something that has never happened before. This is the second one from eTariler, in a few months. This weekend the boat did not load as it used to. It was about to slide off the new set of rollers. I think this may have been made for smaller or lighter boats. It is much softer, or more pliable rubber than the original. I may have to find another, or return to the old original to the boat trailer.

A buyer has to compare this product's cost and then add shipping as opposed to others that include shipping in their price.

  • Replacing Bow Strap and Winch Mount on on Older Shoreline Sailboat Trailer
    That's a really interesting setup. We aren't really going to be able to help much if you want to use that winch mount in it's current configuration. If you could instead mount the winch like in the picture I attached you could then go with a different bow roller possibly. You'd be able to use the bow roller part # YR450Y-400Y you mentioned as well as the bracket part # CE31005PG.

    The width of the roller on the Bow Roller Assembly w/ Bells # YR450Y-400Y that is between the center roller bells measures 3-1/2 inches. This is a super popular size so I would be surprised if this didn't fit your Shorlandr trailer but I'd measure first to verify.

    I have a 5 inch roller, but the largest Bow Roller Assembly that we offer is a 4 inch, like part # YR450Y-400Y. The CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly # CE10401G is 5 inches and will accomplish the same task that a bow roller will. The only difference that you will need to consider is that the shank diameter for the 4 inch bow rollers is 1/2 inch while the keel rollers use 5/8 inch diameter shafts.     Almost all bow roller assemblies have an industry standard hardness of 85a durometers. I was able to call my contact at Yates to confirm this. I do have a solution for you but we do not have any bow rollers with a hardness rating greater than 85a durometers at this time. However, I believe the problem you are experiencing can be eliminated using a wider roller as this would in turn dissipate the weight more evenly to minimize contact with the metal brackets.
