Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Bow Roller Assembly w/ Bells for 4" Wide Bracket

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out the Yates bow roller with bells. And what that means is, there's gonna be a roller here in the center, and you get these bells on the side for complete protection when you're loading up your boat. Let's check it out. Now, looking at it a little bit closer, you can see the bells here and how much they extend out there. This covers up the bolt section here, 'cause it's a long bolt that goes through here.

So it's added protection from that bolt and from the center section of the trailer here. That way when this boat gets pulled up on here, even if it's coming in a little hot, it's gonna hit that roller, it's not gonna hit the trailer roller, it's gonna be protected on the sides. All of this is gonna be made out of a thermal plasticized rubber. So that means it's gonna be protected. When the boat hits it, it's not gonna leave any scuff marks on there, and it's gonna be able to absorb road shock.

So if this is pulled tightly against this when you're pulling it on your trailer, and it is rubbing on here or bouncing over here, it is made to accept that shock, so it's not gonna damage this, or the boat. Now, let's look at some measurements and make sure it's gonna be right for you and your trailer. So, this roller part here is gonna be 3-3/4 of an inch. And so, that's gonna be fitting in between here, so that part's important to look on your trailer to make sure the roller is gonna fit in there, and still be able to roll. And then the side here, is gonna be 1/2-inch diameter hole, and that's where the hardware goes through.

Now, if you're looking at it and saying this doesn't match your trailer, it does come in two different colors too. You can get in blue or black in the full setup, so check those out on our website. It's also really easy to get installed. Check out how we did it. Now, we went ahead and removed the old one.

So, this is where we're gonna put the new one. So, I'm gonna set the roller part in the center. Ready to go. So we're gonna put the bell part on the bolt, so it's gonna come like this. Originally, you can just run that bolt through that end here all the way to the bolt head, because what we're gonna do, is line this up and just slide it on through. So we got the bell on this side. We're gonna add the bell to the other side. And then we're gonna add our washer and nut. Slide that on there, and then hand tighten this for now, and I'll go get my tools and fully tighten it down. Connect my ratchet and wrench and just start tighten down. Overall, it's that easy to get installed. And I think it's gonna be a good addition to your trailer, especially if you're replacing an old one that's all messed up, or maybe you just have the center roller and you're adding this one that has the bells on the side. It's gonna give you overall more protection when you load up your boat, keep it from getting scratched up when it goes to rolls against the roller. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helps..

  • How to Prevent Metal Bow Roller Brackets from Contacting the Boat
Almost all bow roller assemblies have an industry standard hardness of 85a durometers. I was able to call my contact at Yates to confirm this. I do have a solution for you but we do not have any bow rollers with a hardness rating greater than 85a durometers at this time. However, I believe the problem you are experiencing can be eliminated using a wider roller as this would in turn dissipate the weight more evenly to minimize contact with the metal brackets. I recommend using the Bow...

  • Replacement Bow Roller for 5/8 inch Shaft
I have a few different options for you. The Rubber Endcap # YR134-5 that you mentioned can be used with keel rollers, spool rollers, or bow rollers. If you are wanting to stick with a bow roller, We do have a Bow Roller Assembly # YR450B-400B available that comes with a 1/2 inch shaft. This will eliminate the need to find a bow roller with a bigger shaft hole. I did go out to the warehouse to see with it was possibly that a 5/8 inch shank could fit in a bow roller that has a 1/2 inch hole...

  • Replacement Bow Roller with Bell Ends for a 2011 Skeeter SX200 Boat Trailer
It would appear from the photo you attached that the distance between your mounting bracket is 4" wide which means the correct blue roller assembly for you is the Bow Roller Assembly w/ Bells for 4" Wide Bracket part # YR450B-400B. This assembly will be a nice upgrade for your trailer as the thermal-plasticized rubber will help to absorb shock without marking the boat up and the included bell ends will ensure there is no contact with the mounting bracket.
