Features to know about

Better Grip and Smoother Turns in Light Snow: Diagonal Cable Pattern Adds Constant Contact

When the roads get slick but not buried, these Titan Chain cable chains keep you steady. The diagonal pattern keeps a roller link in contact with the road at all times, giving smoother traction through turns and better stopping power than a standard ladder design. You’ll notice more confidence on winding roads or gentle grades where normal cables can slip or chatter.

Perfect for Limited Clearance Setups: SAE Class S Compatible Design

Tight wheel wells are no problem with these low-profile cables. They meet SAE Class S standards, so they fit vehicles with restricted clearance where bulky chains won’t work. The compact rollers and slim build give you the traction you need without rubbing or interference.

Stay Prepared Without Taking Up Space: Lightweight and Easy to Store

These cable chains are ideal for those “just in case” moments when snow catches you off guard. They’re lighter and less bulky than heavy chain sets, so they tuck neatly into your trunk or storage bin until needed. You’ll always have a traction backup ready for unexpected winter conditions or chain-required routes.

Keeps Tension Tight and Secure: Custom Rubber Tensioners Included

Getting a snug fit is simple thanks to the custom rubber tensioners that come with each set. Clip them on in a star pattern and the cables pull evenly around your tire for a tight, consistent grip. No hunting for extra parts—everything you need for tensioning is right in the box.

Step 1 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing chains laid flat on the ground to check for twists or kinks.

Step 2 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing connection of the rear cable ends behind the tire.

Step 3 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing front cable connection through eye hooks at top and bottom of tire.

Step 4 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing rubber tensioners attached in a star pattern for a tight fit.

Built to Last Through Seasonal Use: Alloy Steel Rollers Handle the Cold

Each low-profile roller link is made from durable alloy steel for strength and wear resistance. This construction stands up to the stress of winter driving while maintaining flexibility and smooth rolling over icy pavement. Dry them after use, and these cables will be ready for many winters to come.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Video Transcript for All You Need to Know About the Titan Chain Cable Tire Chain

Colin: Hey, everyone. It's Colin here at etrailer 00:00:01, and today we're going to take a look at Titan Chains' line of diagonal cable snow tire chains. Now, these are going to be available for a wide variety. size tires. So just make sure you enter your year, make, model, and our website's fit guide, and then enter your tire size to lead you to the set that's going to best fit your tire. Usually, your tire size can be found around the perimeter of your tire.

For instance, on our truck right here, it is written right here, 275/55R20. First, makes sure you get all the information before you go online and look. Now, cable chains are going to be a really nice low profile set of chains you can throw on your tires, gives you a little bit extra traction through any lighter snow and ice so that you can stay on the road and stay safe out there. Now, these cable chains, like I said, low-profile, you're not going to really feel them too much while you're driving. It really prevents you from having to get one of those bigger sets of steel chains where you have these really big links across your tire, which could provide a rougher ride. You don't really want to have to use those for any lighter snow and ice.

So if you live in an area where you're not going to experience a ton of it, this is going to be a really great set for you. Now, on the flip side of that, if you live in an area where you're really getting a lot of snow and ice year round and it really piles up, you're probably going to want to invest in something a little bit more heavy duty, a little bit more durable. These cable chains we're really designed for use a couple of times a year just to give you a little bit extra traction. So if you're getting your chains out multiple times a week throughout the winter, go ahead and try and invest in a more durable set. Now, these cable chains are going to have a diagonal ladder pattern that's going to give you a much smoother ride, like I said. So you're not going to feel like you're driving over a lot of little speed bumps like you might feel when you're driving with a set of ladder pattern chains. You're not going to feel these near as much.

Now, we have a really rugged wire making our cross chains, and then we have these alloy steel rollers right here that are wrapped around the wire that help give you the traction you need through any of that lighter snow and ice.The chains do come with a set of rubber adjusters. You're going to have one for each cable tire chain. Now, these are something that you want to use every single time that you get your cable chains out because you're going to pull down on your chains. Make sure they stay snug against your tire to give you the tracking that you need. If, for some reason, you haven't to misplace one of these, or maybe it just happens to wear down over time and break, there is a replacement set you can get to make sure you can keep using your snow tire chains. Now, the chains are going to be SAE Class S certified, meaning they're going to be perfect for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance.

Obviously, we don't have that problem right now with our truck. But if you got a crossover SUV or a sedan where it's really tight under there, it's not a lot of space, these chains are going to be a lot easier for you to install and they're going to be more compatible with it. These chains are also going to meet Department of Transportation needs in all 50 States. The chains do have a speed rating of 30 miles per hour, so just make sure you're being safe out there. They do come in a quantity of two and they do come with this nice carrying bag which is going to make for very easy storage when they're not in use. One thing I do want to point out is that you want to make sure you're installing them on the correct side of your vehicle. So if you have a rear wheel drive vehicle like our truck, you want to make sure you install them on the back wheels. If you have a front wheel drive vehicle, make sure you install them on the front wheels. Now with that being said, if you have a vehicle where you have all wheel drive or four wheel drive and you want to have a set for both sets of tires, then go ahead and just use the same part number, as long as you have that same tire size on the front of the back. Now, when you first get your set of chains, I'd always recommend getting them out and just practicing using them, getting them installed a couple of times on your tire and taking them off, putting them back on. Get the feel for them so that when you find yourself in a situation where you're out in the elements and you need to put them on, you're going to know exactly what you're doing. So I'll walk you through that process right now. Now, first thing you want to do is lay out your cable chain flat and you want to make sure that everything's all right with it. There's no kinks or twists. There's no breaks in any of the wire links. Once you've seen that, what we're going to do is slide it behind our tire. And then we're going to mark this as a halfway point. So we're going to have this wire coming out of the backside of our tire and this side coming out of the front side. One thing I do want to point out is that you can see that this says tire side on the backside. Says it right here, as well. That's letting you know that this side of these brackets should be making contact with your tire. So it should be facing up when you install them. So what we're going to do is take the backside of each of our cables, bring it up behind, and then make that connection right there, just like that. And we'll let that sit behind our tire, and we'll grab ahold of our cable chains and drape it around the top and sides of our tire upfront. Go ahead and make our connection right there. Now, we'll head to the bottom and do the same thing. Now we're ready for our rubber tensioner. We're just going to hook that on. I'm going to grab the one across from it and go straight down. We'll go side to side on them. And just like that, it's going to get a little tight. That's okay. Want to make sure you install these right so that your cable chains stay snug against your tire. You also would probably want to go ahead and move it around, make sure that it's as even as possible around your cable chain. You can see our chains are very snug on our tire, so now we just need to repeat this process for the other side. Once you've got both sets installed, go ahead and drive forward a bit and then stop and get out and just double check. Make sure there's no adjustments needed to be made. From there, you're going to be ready to hit the road.Well, thank you all for watching. But that's going to do it for our look at Titan Chains line of alloy cable snow tire chains.

Turned my 2004 Mustang with aftermarket wheels and tires into a snow tank! Easy installation on 285/35/18 rear tires (bald Summer Street racing tires) and these tire cables will take me anywhere I want in the Montana winter!

by:

Easy to put on good quality the product came extremely fast, which was wonderful because the weather changed and we needed to get them very quickly. They perform very well in the snow at Mammoth.

Excellent product. Easy to install.

This review is more about the product delivery and service from etrailer.com itself.
The product from etrailer.com arrived on time and matched the specifications exactly (a problem that I had with tire chain shopping in sites like (another site) was that the received product did not match the tire size given in the (another site) site product description).
With etrailer.com, the transaction was clean and I am happy with the purchase.
I didn’t get a chance to use these chains so far, so I can’t comment on the quality of the chains itself, but I will surely come back to etrailer.com for my future automotive shopping. Thanks.

These are good cable chain which fit nicely on the CR-V.

by:

I bought these for my 2018 CR-V. They were quick and easy to install. There was plenty of clearance behind the wheels. Once I use them in the snow I’ll update my review, but I’m extremely pleased so far.

by:

They are a rather snug fit on my Honda CRV 235/60R18 tires but worked beautifully on my very icy hillside 1/3 mile driveway. Easy to put on. Very happy to have them.

by:

Shipping was quick and communication was great from purchase to delivery. The cable chains install quick and easy in one step without having to move your vehicle at all. Fit is perfect and snug for my 255/70R18 tires.

by:

I was very happy with the overall order process and the quick delivery. Chains comes in a nice bag for storage.

by:

The chains arrived quickly and look great! They come in a nice storage bag. We have not had to put them on our new car yet but we are ready. We hope to carry them and never use them just like insurance.

by:

I haven't tried them in the snow yet, and hope I never have to, but they're super-easy to install in my driveway. The communication with and service from etrailer was beyond great.

by:

by:

Received chains much earlier than I expected. etrailer is great to work with. Got notice when they shipped and confirmation when I received them. Watched their installation video and was able to install my chains easily. They fit perfectly and looking forward to hitting the mountain snow!

by:

These were mounted on a 2017 Fiat 500 Sport. Last February we drove from Quartzsite Arizona thru Santa Fe New Mexico to Denver, Boulder, and then spent 3 weeks in Aspen Colorado before heading west back to Quartzsite. In Aspen it snowed nearly every day and I put the chains on and removed the chains multiple times. By the third cycle I had the installation wired and could install them on the side of the road in a raging blizzard in less than 5-6 minutes - with gloves on. Great product that worked incredibly well. We could have never done the trip without them.

by:

I have not used the product yet but I pulled it out and simulated the installation steps. Product looks solid and of good quality. The instructions contains photos, some of which are difficult to discern the details; a drawing/diagram would be more helpful.

by:

I knew zero about snow chains for my truck. etrailer website gave me all the information I needed to make a buying decision. Then easy ordering, great shipping and perfect follow up. They even showed me how to install my chains!

by:

I haven't used them yet. Price and delivery were good. Previous purchases from etrailer have been very satisfactory.

by:

I've used these chains several times in this winter and it works only on flat roads with light snow. My 2015 Subaru Forester wearing these chains couldn't climb 10 - 20 degrees road with around 3 - 6 inches snow. I was expecting my Subaru could climb that road because it wasn't steep. No issues with clearance. I should have bought diamond pattern chains.

by:

We ordered these during the recent winter storms in North Carolina. Have never used chains before. Unfortunately, due to USPS delays, by the time we received them, we really didn't need them, but they will be good for peace of mind. I'm sure sometime they will be useful. We practiced putting them on yesterday and found that the tensioner was a lot harder to get on than shown in the video. My husband, who is strong, was barely able to do it, and there's no way I ever could. That's why they got 4 stars instead of 5 from me. But the product seems to be high quality, and I love the carry/storage bag they came in.

by:

Perfectly capable tire cables. Helped me get around my iced up city during the North Texas ice storm in late January.

Only two criticisms: 1. The bag came really dirty and dusty, like it’d been sitting in a barn since the 1800s. 2. the included tensioners weren’t long enough to strap to all 5 points across the rim. Luckily I had some 18 in bungee cords that solved this problem.

by:

Haven't used tire cables yet … but … did install one to check the fit and look. And the thing fit perfectly on my 2019 F150 with 245/70r17 tires. Even look pretty good too! I especially like that the cables can be put on as the truck sets - no need to lay them out and back over them. And the carrying bag is nice - keeps everything together and able to be stored under a seat, in the bed, or wherever. I thought about getting chains with v-bars … but didn't think I needed anything that aggressive - so the tire cables ought to do just fine in deeper snow, packed snow and maybe even on ice.

by:

Looks to be of decent quality. I like the carry bag they come in which is a nice touch. Have not used them yet or put them on my car, so can’t give a full honest review at this time.

by:

Shipping was quick, installation fiddly but doable. Customer service was excellent. Removal is a pain as things wont line up as neatly, but with some practice isn't bad. I got to use the chains in anger this winter and performance was great, I got into and out of places that would have been impassible otherwise, even with true 4x4 and good tires. Recommended for the price point and for occasional use.

by:

Just received them loving the structions with photos they look very well made down in just in case for emergencies

  • Are 2 or 4 Tire Chains Needed and is there a Speed Rating when Using Chains on a 2004 Nissan Sentra
When using tire chains they would need to go on the main drive wheels. On a front wheel drive car they go on the front wheels and there would not be much additional benefit to put them on the rear wheels. But on a rear wheel drive vehicle they would go on the back wheels and having some on the front wheels would help with braking and steering. But for your 2004 Nissan Sentra the front tires are where you will put the chains. Different chains have different speed ratings, and there are...

  • Are Titan Tire Chains Sold Individually or as a Pair
The Titan tire chains part # TC327DC are sold in pairs. If you ordered a quantity of 1 you would get one chain for each tire on your drive axle. I would need to know your tire size to pick you out a better fitting chain if possible. Of the tire sizes we list for your Nissan these chains are not a fit. Check out the link I attached to select your tire size and see what would fit your vehicle.

  • Easy to Install Tire Chains for a 1997 Honda Prelude with 205/50-16 Tires
I checked the owner's manual for a 1997 Honda Prelude and it states that you can use Class S or cable style chains on the front wheels of the vehicle. We have numerous chains that fit this description. By far the easiest chains to install that I have ever used are the Low-Pro chains # TH04115075. Nothing has been easier or faster than these chains. And when you are off on the side of the road in the snow trying to put on chains you want it to be as quick and easy as possible. I have linked...
