Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this T-One vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. Now, this harness is designed to fit the 2022 and newer Hyundai Ioniq 5. To confirm if this is going to work for your vehicle, take advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Now, as you can see, this harness is going to provide this four-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your Ioniq 5 to power your trailer signal lights. It is compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters. And those adapters are sold separately, but you can find them here at etrailer.com. And included is a dust cap for the four-pole flat connector. And as you can see, this is tethered to the plug's housing.

So, that's going to ensure that you're not going to misplace or lose this dust cap. And, of course, that dust cap covers up these connection points when this plug is not being in use, protecting it from debris and moisture. Now, the black box on this harness is the ModuLite power module. And the ModuLite ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer. It connects directly to your vehicle's battery, so to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system, reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system.

Now, this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily, so there's not gonna be any splicing of wires. There's not gonna be any alterations to your vehicle's wiring, which could lead to damage or possibly voiding warranties. The connections with the yellow wires are going to go to the driver's side. And the connections with the green wires are gonna go to your passenger side of your vehicle. This custom fit T-One connector, these connectors plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on both the driver's side and the passenger side.

You will have to remove the cargo area floor covering, some interior paneling, and the rear threshold cover to access this harness. Then after locating the wiring connector's mating T-One connector harness, disconnect the vehicle's wiring harness from both the driver's and passenger's taillight assembly. And you wanna be careful not to damage any of the locking tabs. These T-connectors are custom fitted for your Ioniq 5, so they're gonna match up perfectly with the connection points on the vehicle. And they snap and lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Now, once you have plugged those T-connectors in, you will need to make a good ground connection. And this ground wire is this white wire and as you can see, it has a ring terminal attached to it. And it does come with a self-tapping screw, so you can get this grounded to a suitable location, such as your vehicle's frame or crossmember. You just wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust free. Next, you're going to want to mount this ModuLite box to a safe, out of the way location. And you can do that with a mounting screw that you have, or with this included double-sided adhesive tape, or with one of the many cable ties that is included with this kit. Next, you will need to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery. And that hot lead wire is this short black wire that's coming out of our ModuLite. And this short black wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire. And you're gonna be using one of the included butt connectors to connect this short, black wire to one end of this bundle. And then this bundle is going to get routed to your vehicle's battery. And once you have this routed to your battery, you are going to take the fuse holder here and you are going to cut the yellow wire in half and connect one of the wires with the second butt connector that you see here that is included to the routed black wire. And then the other half of this fuse holder is going to get a ring terminal attached to it. And that ring terminal is going to attach to the positive post of your vehicle's battery. As you notice, it does come with a 15 amp fuse and that is going to go into this holder. And this holder has a cap that's going to keep that fuse safe and protected. Now, you can secure any excess or slack in your wiring, especially with this wire, this black wire that you're gonna be routing from the rear of your vehicle to your battery. You can secure those that wire and more with these included cable ties. And you're gonna get quite a few cable ties to secure any excess or slack in your wiring. Once this installation is complete, you are going to have this four-way flat connector ready to go. And this can be stowed in your rear cargo area when not in use. When you're ready to use it, you can just open up your hatch and run this in between the weather stripping out of the rear of your vehicle to use it. You just wanna make sure that the wire stays away from the striker on your hatch door. Now, the maximum amperage for the stop turn lights is five amps per circuit. For the taillights, it's 7.5 amps per circuit. This is constructed of 16 gauge bonded wire. Instructions are included to go in a little bit more detail of some of the steps that we just covered briefly in our time together today. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four-pole connector itself. And it is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. On your screen, I am including our item number to a small container of dialectic grease.
