Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on both the driver's side and the passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold panel and corner felt trunk liner to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Best Customer service ever. This is the correct trailer wire harness for the 2021 Mazda CX-30. I had originally purchased and installed the Curt 56450, which is what Curt said was for my vehicle, it was not. Using the turn signal it made both right and left signals work at the same time like a 4 way flasher. Curt sent me 2 replacements and had me take a video of everything. It was clearly not the correct system. I emailed George at etrailer and he knew I had the wrong set up and knew what I needed. Thanks to George, I can safely and legally tow my trailer with working trailer lights! I highly recommend etrailer’s products and their outstanding customer support service and knowledgeable staff!
I have a 2021 Mazda cx30, this kit works. DO NOT buy the curt kit, it made all the trailer lights blink when I put either turn signal on. Curt needs to do more RandD before they say it will work on any given model. I did a complete install banking on curt saying it would work, I expect a full refund on the curt kit, we’ll see. So far customer service at etrailer has been great. TY

2022 Mazda CX30 Turbo mostly pulling a 5x10 utility trailer.
Total installation also installed wire kit took me around 3 hours.
This wiring harnes was easy to install and works well. I have one suggestion for improvement. On my CX-30 the side panels in the trunk area are rigid which means I had to remove them completely to acces the wiring around the tail lights. The instructions and the video on the etrailer website show flexible side panels that could be bent outward to access the tail light wiring. As a result I had to figure out how to remove the hard side panels without inadvertently breaking the mounting tabs. I was successful at doing this, but it made the job take longer.
installs just like videos show, no surprises, works well. little patience is all that's required to run the power line up front in a protected/hidden way. son-in-law is new to mechanics and did this along with the hitch on a nice Saturday morning.
