Features to know about

Wireless Blade Control with Auto-Angling

HomePlow Key Fob Control.

When your driveway is buried under snow and you need to get to work, the last thing you want to do is jump out into the cold to manhandle your plow. With the included key fob, you can raise and lower the blade with a click of a button and never leave the warmth of your cab. The Auto-Angling system senses snow buildup and pivots the blade left or right to clear it to the side, then centers when lifted. You can even use it in reverse to drag snow away from your garage. It keeps your passes clean and even, so you finish fast and stay dry doing it.

How Much Snow Will It Handle?

HomePlow Blade.

This plow is built for storms. It will clear 8" - 10" of snow at a time, but the trick is timing. People often wait for the storm to stop dropping flakes before they go out to clear it. But snow consistency can change as the storm lingers, so the sooner you start - even if it's still coming down - the easier the job.

What Happens If You Hit Something While Plowing?

If you catch a buried object, the blade tips forward and glides over it instead of stopping you cold. Once it clears, it snaps right back into place so you can keep moving. It's built to protect you and your vehicle when your driveway fights back.

Assembly and Setup

This plow arrives partially assembled and goes together in less than an hour with common household tools. Once built, roll it to your truck, slide the lift frame into your 2" front receiver, pin it, connect the harness, and you're ready to plow. It's has a simple setup so you can get to work fast when the snow starts falling.

See what our Experts say about this Meyer Snow Plow

  • Do Meyer Snow Plows Require Lots Of Hardwiring In Truck? What About Wireless Options?
Allen, not much at all - it really depends on which HomePlow or WingMan you go with. The Meyer HomePlow # ME28FR comes with a wired auto-angling controller, but it can also run with Meyer’s optional wireless kit if you’d rather skip the cable altogether. The Meyer HomePlow # ME88FR includes only the wireless setup from the factory, so it raises, lowers, and auto-angles with just a handheld fob - no wiring through the firewall. If you step up to the higher end hydraulic HomePlow # ME53FR...

  • Meyer Snow Plow - Differences Between The Models In The Lineup
Greg, great question. The HomePlows # ME28FR and # ME53FR are for residential or light-duty use - 22" tall blades, lighter frames, and smaller hydraulic pumps. The HomePlow # ME88FR is the same as those, aside from only having an 18" tall blade. The WingMan # ME35FR steps up to 26" tall military-grade steel blade, dual hydraulics, and integrated LED lights for heavy daily work. Another difference is the controller setup. The # ME88FR is budget friendly and just comes with a wireless controller...

  • Is There A Snow Plow For Polaris Ranger With 2" Front Hitch Receiver?
Luke, as long as your Ranger’s hitch is a true Class III 2" and the electrical system can support a 60-amp draw, the smaller HomePlow models # ME28FR or # ME88FR are perfect. They’re lighter electric-lift plows with auto-angling, great for driveways and farm paths. They require that hitch class I mentioned rated for at least 300lb tongue weight, and also a battery rated for at least 70A (50CCA) and an alternator rated at 60A output. Do you usually plow gravel or pavement on your property?

  • Which Meyer Snow Plow Is Best For RAM 1500 Plowing Gravel Road On Farm?
Denise, the HomePlow # ME53FR with full hydraulics is tailor-made for that kind of setup - more lift power and smoother angling for longer passes. If you’d rather keep it simpler, the electric # ME88FR works great too at a more budget-friendly price. Both mount to a 2" front receiver. For a half-ton like yours, I suggest adding front suspension helpers to keep the truck level when the plow’s raised. You can find those, along with the proper receiver-and-plow combo, in our FitGuide. How...

  • How Difficult Is It To Take Off A Meyer Snow Plow After Each Use? Are Caster Wheels Included?
Don, removal’s quick. Meyer’s Quick-Link receiver system lets you pull one pin and roll the plow away on its built-in casters. The Meyer HomePlow # ME28FR includes those wheels, and so do the heavier duty hydraulic models. The HomePlow # ME88FR is a more budget friendly option that does not include caster wheels, but it's still a simple pull-pin removal like the others. Just remember to drop the blade to the ground first to release pressure. Where are you planning to store it - garage or shed?

  • Light Grade Snow Plow For 2020 Silverado 1500 4WD For Clearing Snow Off Long Driveway
Brad, for light residential use, the Meyer HomePlow # ME88FR is exactly what you need. It’s an electric-lift design with a wireless remote, so no cab wiring, and it mounts straight into a 2" front receiver. Your 1500 may squat a bit under the weight, so front suspension helpers like Timbren will level things out nicely, such as the # T74FR If you don’t already have a front-mount hitch, hop into our FitGuide to find a complete kit with both the receiver and plow. There's different hitch...

  • Can I Leave Snow Plow On My Jeep All Winter, Or Should I Remove It?
Sarah, it’s best to remove it between uses. Even the lighter HomePlow # ME88FR adds about 250 lbs out front, and that constant load can weaken the springs on smaller SUVs and half ton pickups. It also can rust and get weathered if left out all year round. Meyer designed it so you can disconnect in minutes - no tools required. If your Jeep sits nose-down with the plow attached, a Timbren front helper kit will keep it level and reduce strain on your front suspension. You’ll find your Jeep’s...

  • Meyer HomePlow ME53FR: Comparing Float Mode vs. Down Pressure
Lisa, the HomePlow # ME53FR uses a true hydraulic lift and power-angling system, so it can apply real down pressure when you hold the lower control. That’s the main advantage over the electric HomePlows like the # # ME28FR and # ME88FR, which only lower by gravity. When you hold the down button on the # ME53FR pistol-grip controller, it pushes hydraulic fluid into the lift cylinder, pressing the blade against the surface. That gives you better scraping on packed snow or thin ice, something...

  • Is There A Down Pressure Setting For Scraping Snow And Ice With Meyer Snow Plows? Or Just Float Mode
Amanda, great question. The electric HomePlows # ME28FR and # ME88FR use a “float” mode that lets the blade follow the surface contour but doesn’t apply down-force. It simply lets the plow rest on the ground, using gravity. The hydraulic HomePlow # ME53FR and WingMan # ME35FR plows give you hydraulic pressure downforce when you hold the lower button - handy for compacted snow or ice that's sticking to the road. Are you planning to use it mainly on residential pavement?

  • Toyota Tundra SR5 4x4 Front Hitch for Snow Plow
Hey Barry! The short answer is yes, the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH89CR will work for a snowplow on your Tundra SR5 4x4. You'll need to remove the front skid plate, frame plugs, and front spoiler with motor. Removing the front spoiler will cause some lights to appear on your dashboard (CBI Offroad Fab offers a Tundra Front Active Spoiler Delete Module to bypass these). There will also need to be a hole cutout of the bumper for the receiver tube. Overall, this...

  • Light Duty Entry Level Snow Plow Setup For 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4
Tim, the HomePlow # ME88FR is built exactly for that kind of job. It’s an electric-lift model with a wireless remote - simple to use and light enough for your half-ton. Meyer rates the HomePlow line for 1/2 ton trucks, SUVs, and smaller, so you’re right in its sweet spot. For best results, add a pair of front suspension helpers to keep the truck level when the blade’s raised. If you don’t already have a front receiver, you can use the Curt # C87FR. How long’s your driveway?

  • Can I Install A Snow Plow On Chevy Tahoe With Front Hitch?
Renee, yes - that's a perfect fit for the HomePlow # ME88FR or # ME28FR. Meyer built this series for SUVs and 1/2-ton pickups, so your Tahoe falls right in its operating range. Just confirm your front hitch is rated at 300 lbs tongue weight minimum and you'll be all set. You can check that rating on the hitch tag, or let me know if you find a part number on it. How much snowfall do you typically get in your area?
