Updated 01/02/2026 | Published 12/20/2025

Question:

Wondering if this hitch will work for a snowplow on a tundra 2025 sr5 4x4? Also I’m in Canada and wondering if shipping over here do items get hit with extra duty custom charges?

Hey Barry! The short answer is yes, the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH89CR will work for a snowplow on your Tundra SR5 4x4. You'll need to remove the front skid plate, frame plugs, and front spoiler with motor. Removing the front spoiler will cause some lights to appear on your dashboard (CBI Offroad Fab offers a Tundra Front Active Spoiler Delete Module to bypass these). There will also need to be a hole cutout of the bumper for the receiver tube. Overall, this is going to be a lengthy job between 2 to 4 hours, closer to 4 if it's your first time doing a front hitch install. I know it sounds like a lot of effort, but unfortunately there's no easier front hitch option for your Tundra.

Do you have a snow plow already? If not, then check out our new Meyer HomePlow w/Electric Lift # ME88FR. It's going to work with the 2" receiver of the # EH89CR and is well within the capacity of your SR5. Are you going to be using the plow for your driveway? Or will it be something more substantial?

For shipping to Canada, you can call in and we'd love to give you more info on the process!

I received the hitch the other day and about to install. Is there any ways to bypass getting the cbi module? I read a review someone took the insides of the motor out and left it plugged in and mounted it elsewhere on the truck?

@Barry the hitch will occupy that space once it's installed and, unfortunately, I'm unable to find an alternative mounting option for the front spoiler motor with a front hitch on your vehicle. From what I saw, people who had success leaving the motor in place and plugged in were just looking to avoid the front spoiler deploying for extra ground clearance. So, your best bet to avoid those dash lights is going to be the CBI delete module.
