Features to know about

Stay Level Under Load: 3,600-lb Rear Suspension Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can make the rear of your vehicle sag and throw off steering and braking. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 3,600 lbs of extra support above the rear axle to keep things level and stable. The hollow rubber springs sit just an inch above the axle, letting your factory suspension work normally when empty, then firming up automatically as weight is added. That means less squat, better control, and a confident ride when towing or hauling heavy gear.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Rubber Springs That Absorb Shock

When the road gets rough, these Aeon hollow rubber springs act like built-in shock absorbers. They cushion bumps and dips so your ride stays comfortable even when loaded. The progressive design collapses along the folds under pressure, then stiffens as weight increases, giving you a smooth transition from soft to firm support. This helps protect your suspension from bottoming out while keeping the ride steady and controlled on uneven pavement or gravel.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

Each Timbren spring works on its own to support the driver or passenger side only when needed. That independent action cuts down on body roll during sharp turns and helps keep off-center loads balanced. When a semi passes or a gust of wind hits your trailer, these springs help keep both the truck and trailer tracking straight so you stay in control through corners and highway turbulence.

Install It Yourself: Simple Bolt-On Design

Adding load support doesn’t have to be complicated. The Timbren system includes 2 Aeon hollow rubber springs with vehicle-specific brackets and hardware that bolt right in place of factory bump stops. No drilling is required, so you can install it with basic tools in your own driveway. Once mounted, there are no airlines or adjustments to fuss with—just reliable, automatic support that keeps your vehicle level every time you load up or hitch a trailer.

by:

A very simple and straightforward installation once you get the oem bumper stops off (had a shop do that)
Timbren worked with me as I had a non OEM frame height (vehicle was lower than stock) to recommend the proper kit. Highly recommend contacting timbren if you are unsure of the proper kit to use. Ride is more stable. It does feel stiffer and less bouncy but am looking forward to seeing how it performs with my truck camper. Truck is a 1998 dodge ram 2500. Brake line over left side of axle needed to be secured to prevent damage.

by:

The Timbren overload spring/bumper was east to install and did what it was supposed to do when I hitched up a camp trailer. These did not negatively affect the ride by any means and I don't have to worry about the troubles with air bags.

by:

Stiffens and corrects kneel in rear end of 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. You will notice a stiffening of the rear end suspension while unloaded, but it’s a fair trade off to prevent sagging and porpoising while towing. I found it easier to pull the rear wheels and work from the side than underneath the vehicle while installing.

by:

The timbres bump stop is exactly the right height to meet the axel when the trailer is connected with all its weight onto the hitch. I have an Andersen weight distribution hitch and it levels out perfectly. The day picture is with the coach (Winn 2100bh) with factory equipment. The night picture is after the timbres are in place. Looks good.

by:

It has been almost a year since I installed Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems (DVF350 and DVR350R) on the front and rear of my 2003 Dodge RAM Van 3500. These bumpers replaced the OEM bump stops that were on my van. I like the Timbren bumpers much better than the OEM bump stops because they provide a progressively cushioned response for suspension compression when traveling over significant humps like speed bumps in a parking lot, or curb ramps into driveways. I did not like the abrupt stop the OEM bump stops provided when traveling over the same objects. I installed the Timbren rear bumpers first, and after a few months of use, I decided to add them to the front. In both cases, the front and rear Timbren bumpers were easy to install once the OEM bump stops were removed. Installation required reuse of the factory hardware. On my van, the Timbren bumpers are not always engaged. Under normal load and travel conditions the bumpers are relaxed and about 1/2” away from the suspension landing points. However, their presence is much appreciated and very noticeable when the van is carrying heavy loads or handling significant humps.

by:

Absolutely Pleased with the TIMBRENS. They were easy to install, and took less than an hour to install both. I noticed a slight stiffness in the ride as the rear bounced over a bad roadway. Towing is great, with a nice level and smooth ride. I am glad that I did not order the heavier duty Timbrens, than what was recomended for my truck. I believe the ride would have been too stiff. If you look at the photos showing the timbrens, the truck is still lifted in the rear, so what you see is a big gap between the rubber, and the steal plate. When the truck is lowered, there's 1" of space as it should be. BTW, I have been purchasing from etrailer for years now, and I have to say that I have never had any issues with any orders. They are my go to folks for all of my vehicle suppension stuff and trailer stuff. You can't go wrong with buying from them.

by:

My F53 was like driving a waterbed down the road. With the Timbrens, it’s a different vehicle. Should have installed them years ago. Etrailer is my go to for anything trailer. FAST shipping and prompt responses to questions or concerns.

by:

2022 F250 Super Duty. Super easy to install. I have about 3/4" gap between the spring and the plate. Time will tell how they impact the ride quality and how much sag they mitigate with my 5th wheel hooked up.

by:

Timbren Spring Helpers were exactly what I needed on my Tundra plus a spacer kit since I have a 3” TRD lift. They were packaged neatly, with proper hardware, and excellent instructions! They absolutely do exactly what they are supposed to do! Truck rides much better and helps level out the load!

by:

Great upgrade when pulling our 6500lb travel trailer. Helps with sag and control on the road on our Ram 1500. Change the stock shocks and if you choose, upgrade your stock springs, and you'll get the most out of your half ton.

by:

I'm suitably impressed with the difference i feel.
I have about 250 lbs. of static load with my topper and Decked cargo system. This put my install gap with no spacers just under the reccomended 1 inch minimum. Then add a couple hundred more pounds hauling music gear 100 shows a year, and the stop is resting on the axle.
I feel the absorption of the Timbren material is better than the flimsy stock bump stops. More cushion.
Where i really feel the difference is in the stabilty of excessive side sway when turning while loaded.
I have a gig coming up that will involve some unpaved mountain roads to get there so I think i will have a real goid idea of how these Timbren's will perform.
Instalation took me about an hour at 11 p.m.
The product it of the highest quality in design and build.
And Etrailer is a company that I would not hesitate to buy from in the future.
Thanks Dee Dee.
You rawk!!

Easy install and work well on my 2500 S uburban

by:

Installed on a 2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500. These worked great, i have airbags on my dually but wanted a less involving install and wont be hauling as many varied loads as that truck. They were simple to install and even solved some body roll issue that would lead me to consider installing a sway bar.

by:

This is a well designed product that is (mostly) easy to install. No cutting or grinding, just unbolt the old ones and the new ones fit right in. The one hiccup was that the bolts (and nuts) that are welded on to the brackets are covered in paint, which makes the threading the nut rather difficult. I needed a vice and some oil along with some elbow grease, but I was honestly worried that I might break a weld. Once I pre-threaded everything it was a snap to put together. I do recommend these, but the added frustration for such an expensive product means I can only do 4 stars.

by:

Very happy with this product. I have bought these for 2 different vehicles, Great for the price & does the job fine. It decreases the sagging of my 3/4 ton Suburban by 3" or 4 ". I wouldn't pull a trailer without them.

Still love them, wouldnt travel without them.

by:

for a 2009 Suburban 2500, these are great when towing. It helps with squat and handling. It does make the unloaded/non-towing ride a lot rougher. Unloaded, for my Suburban, if the gas tank is more than a quarter tank full, the Timbrens are making contact with the frame and in turn, translating a lot of the road bumps into the body causing more roughness in the ride than usual. It's a trade off. But I don't mind the rougher suspension if it means safer and smoother towing.

by:

Very good value, this does help support the vehicle when I hook up the trailer. I measured the height of the wheel base and it holds higher with this unit installed.

Fantastic, I ordered a second set for another truck I own. They set above the axle so when not loaded there is not a stiff ride.

I have a 2004 GMC Yukon XL 8.1 2500. I’ve been pulling a 27 ft puma travel trailer weighing around 11000 pounds for the past 8 years. We camp usually once a month March - November. I’ve always thought this truck held the weight just fine until my neighbor recommended these timbrens. He has them on his 1 ton Chevy hauling a 18000 Pound fifth wheel. Installation of these timbrens was simple about 25 minutes. We just got back from a 300 mile round trip camping weekend. What a difference!!! Bumps are now soft. Very little sway when big trucks pass and my Yukon now sits level. A very sturdy feel while pulling My camper. I do notice when unloaded my truck rides a tad bumpier. I think it’s because the rear of my truck sags a little due to all the years of hauling weight. All in all I would highly recommend these. Big big improvement. The people at etrailer are great to work with. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

by:

Kept my Surbuban 2500 from squatting so much while pulling an enclosed trailer and the ride quality is fine when doing so. These took out any bouncy, boat like feel and made the truck feel far more stable. I’m giving this product 3 stars because the ride is absolutely horrible when not pulling a trailer. The truck rests on the Timbrens, which causes a very rigid suspension. My solution is to remove them when not towing heavy. The description of this product states that the truck shouldn’t rest on them while unloaded, but that wasn’t the case for my vehicle. I wish the ride quality wasn’t so horrible when not towing.

Hey, Keenan. I'm sorry to hear how your ride quality is with the Timbrens. That is one downside to them, unless your under a constant load, it can affect your unloaded ride. Are you just towing the enclosed trailer or are you towing/hauling any other type of equipment?

by:

The order process was great with excellent delivery. As an automotive professional I have recommended and installed well over 100 sets of Timbren's on customer vehicles. When it was my time to address weight and sag due to my new trailer...it was obvious what I was going to do. As expected they reduced my sag 1 3/4 inches at the rear wheel body to tire with trailer hooked up. etrailer was recommended to me and I will use them for all my needs from this point forward. Absolutely great service and I rarely give 5 stars. They do deserve it with product and service. Thanks George J.

After 1 year they are doing exactly what was expected of them. A great product with great results. I will and have recommended etrailer to many people because of the quality products and fantastic service and followup.

I've only used these twice since I bought them. I was pulling a little over 10k pounds. These "springs" keep the rear end from squatting and it maintained a really smooth ride while pulling. It still squats a little because the rubber compresses some when there is weight on it. Also, I have different torsion keys and the front end is leveled. When you look at the pictures, it gives the illusion that it's squatting in the rear a lot. But remember, the front end had been cranked up 1.5 inches. I really like them over all. My only complaint is that when you keep them installed when you aren't pulling, it rides really rough. These prevent rear suspension travel. When you hit a bump, the axle hits these stops and it hits hard. I just take them off when I'm not pulling and put them back on when I do pull. After you switch them out a few times it only take 10 or 15 minutes to do the job. I'd rather have these than airbags. More reliable, less maintenance. I would buy them again.

Is it the additional spacers that are causing the main part of the spring to out of alignment compared to the stock bump stops on your 2004 GMC Yukon XL? Are the Timbren springs fully seated in the bump stop cups? On these vehicles it is hard to manually push them into place. We usually use a block of wood and slowly put weight back on the axle so that the wood and the weight will push the springs into the bump stop cup. For your 2005 Chevy Suburban 2500 4x4, I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRSB4S. This will stabilize your vehicle to significantly reduce that sag by using the Aeon Rubber that becomes more rigid as more weight is added. These springs are extremely well suited for towing, they just don't have the adjustability of the air springs, which you may not even desire. I do have options for you to tow a heavy trailer with your 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 but a gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer would be off limits. The reason for this is not so much as the weight of the trailer is more than the vehicle can handle though it would be a stretch but more so that the configuration of the truck bed does not allow for turning clearance.
