Features to know about

Keep the Truck Level and Stable: 2,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

Heavy trailers or bed loads can make the rear sag and the front lift, throwing off traction and headlight aim. The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit adds up to 2,000 lbs of mechanical support to your factory leaf springs so your ride stays level under load. The variable-rated coil tension springs automatically adjust to the weight, strengthening your stock suspension without changing unloaded ride quality.

RoadActive Suspension system keeping vehicle level under load for stable ride height and improved traction

Stop Sway and Axle Wrap Before They Start: Mechanically Active Coil Springs

Factory leaf springs only respond after the truck starts to squat or roll. This system converts them into a mechanically active setup that reacts instantly when weight is applied. The coil tension springs absorb load force energy right away, which prevents axle wrap, wheel hop, and bottoming out. The result is better traction when braking or accelerating and more control when towing or hauling heavy cargo.

Smooth Out Turns and Rough Roads: Reduced Body Roll and Bounce

When corners get tight or crosswinds push against a trailer, RAS keeps the rear end planted. By reinforcing your leaf springs, it minimizes sway and body roll so the truck tracks straight and feels more balanced through turns. It also cuts down on rocking or porpoising on rough pavement, giving a steadier, safer feel whether you’re towing or running empty.

Built Tough for Real-World Loads: Corrosion-Resistant Steel Construction

The RAS units are made from high-grade alloy steel with an epoxy e-coat finish for long-term durability. Brackets on each end carry a salt-spray rating of more than 800 hours. Once installed, no adjustments or maintenance are required—just solid mechanical support every time you hook up the trailer or load the bed.

Quick Bolt-On Setup: Fully Assembled and Easy to Install

Each kit comes preassembled for straightforward installation using your factory U-bolts. There’s no drilling, cutting, or welding required. Bolt it on under your leaf springs, set your initial coil tension during install, and you’re done—no compressors or air lines to manage later.

It was nice to open the box and see all the part neatly packaged and by the look of the parts it looks like a good quality product.

Really helps with towing and stability when hauling large loads. I never go more than my vehicle’s specs, but when I’m close to the max these help a ton.

Fantastic! While my towing is within spec, these help so much with stability. After owning them for a year I know I made the right choice.

by:

Provides stability while pulling my trailer and a smooth ride with no load

by:

This system works like a champ!!! I installed it for smoother towing of my travel trailer/toy hauler and it’s made a huge difference. No regrets!

2019 f150 with a camper and 1500lb bed cargo glide.. I should've done this 3 years ago! Definitely recommend! Completely changed the truck in nothing but positive ways!

Hello David, I am sorry this product did not fit your truck. I spoke with our Roadmaster Techs and they told me this kit is not a fit for your truck since your truck suspension is not factory spec. This kit is only confirmed to fit the fit-guided vehicles with factory suspensions.

by:

product came very fast! all was packaged extremely well and no damage to any of the items I ordered. I have not installed them yet but I am excited to get them on and hopefully see that they take that little extra sag out of my truck while pulling my travel trailer! watched many video's on the installation process and seems to be very simple and straight forward... thanks etrailer

by:

Installed on my 2015 F-150. Great product. Easy installation, took longer to get the wheels off than it did to put the springs in. Adjusted to the 2mm spacing and it raised rear fender well height by 1". Improved unloaded handling and towing. Have recommended to friends and will have on any of my future vehicles

by:

This is the second time I have ordered from etrailer . Great service and fair prices. The Roadmasters were not as easy as I expected. A call to support got me straightened out. The job Roadmaster says is about an hour took me four.

by:

2018 F150 4x4 owners pay attention to this review. I received the order today and unfortunately it was the wrong kit for my vehicle. Even though etrailer confirmed that a RAS3611-B is correct for my truck, it is actually for a F150 4x2.
I contacted etrailer and costumer service rep was great and verified that initially the same part number came up for my vehicle, causing the confusion.
My mistake, etrailer mistake.
The correct kit for a 2018 Ford F150 4x4 is RAS3611-Y.
etrailer is splitting the cost of return shipping and my correct kit has been ordered.
etrailer has great costumer service.

by:

Found the installation to very easily! I was able to do it with the tires on the truck and less than 30 minutes to install both. Product seems to work really well but only have loaded it a few times. etrailer has some of the best customer service I have seen in awhile! I will definitely use them for my future needs!

by:

After debating whether to go with these or airbags for a year I’m very happy with my decision to purchase these for my 2015 F150. Installation was simple, the difference in ride and towing is great, and there’s no maintenance. With 1,000lbs of trailer tongue weight and improved stability, I’m a happy camper!

by:

It works very well no more sagging or swaying from the rear.

by:

Really great product. Install on 2017 f150. The truck bounced because it was lite from aluminum frame. It's suspension was weak. My trailer with my small tractor seem to over load rear suspension. Load was for below truck tow rating. Caused problems loading and unloading tractor. Roadmaster really changed the suspension for the better. Truck is very stable and much smoother with and without trailer. A GREAT PRODUCT!!!

by:

I am a first time truck and trailer owner. Talked to friends and did my research and decided on airbags. Purchased Airlift bags. They gave me the worst ride around town, my F150 drove like a bouncing tank and didn't improve the towing ride at all, made it a little worse. So I decided to return those and went with Roadmater AS. My truck around town felt better than factory. My truck takes corners better than any of my friends truck. Towing is smooth and sway in no more.

by:

I received my order a day earlier than estimated. That was nice. But, when I started the installation the next day, I immediately encountered a problem when installing the enclosed bracket for the emergency brake cable. The instructions state the O.E. bolt is 10mm. On my 2017 F-150 the bolt is 13mm and does not fit in the recessed hole on the supplied bracket. I'll unfortunately be making a trip to the local hardware store to find a bolt that will work in order to complete the installation.

Thanks for the info, I have spoken with my contacts at Roadmaster Active Suspension and they have not heard about this issue, but their development team is looking into it to see if they need to update the bolts included.

by:

I installed them on a 2015 F150 2WD. Pulling a trailer with about 750 ponds tongue weight. Before the RAS my truck dropped 3 1/2 inches in the back and raised 3/4" in the front. With the RAS the back still dropped 3 1/4" and the front raised 3/8". They say it doesn't affect the ride without a trailer hooked up. I would strongly disagree with that statement. The ride and handling are affected and not in a good way. Much stiffer. With the trailer hooked up the truck does seem to be more stable, although I have not pulled it a long distance. I am mainly disappointed that it basically did nothing to help the rear end sag. I tried both wafers for adjustment. Not much difference.

Not good. I removed them after a long trip. Going back to airbags that way when not towing I can let the air out. With RAS and trailer hooked up the truck rode like a dump truck. I would not recommend and would give it a one star rating. I feel like I wasted my money.

by:

Easy to install on 2023 Ford F150 w/o removing the tires.

by:

So Far I am very satisfied ! It was easy to install with no problems ! It really helped my truck very much ! Lifted up the rear so that when I hook my utility trailer with my tractor loaded on it sets just right for pulling !

by:

I like the way that I can track the order status from the person preparing my order to the time it is delivered. It feels like it is very personalized. Thanks for getting my order delivered earlier than I expected.
With RAS, My ride feels stable and more planted to the ground.

by:

I put these on my 2018 F150 and towed a fully loaded 17' foot cargo trailer from from Washington to Florida through bad weather and even performing some high speed emergency avoidance. I feel that the safety of that trip relied heavily on the positive effects of Roadmaster on my suspension!

  • Is Leaf Spring Enhancement Worth it With 2018 Ford F-150 WIth Timbrens
Hey there Steve; thanks for writing in and when it comes to body roll and sway for your 2018 Ford F-150, the better option is the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit, with the right one depending on if your F-150 is 2WD or 4WD: - 2WD: RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-B - 4WD: RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-Y Honestly, I would go with these over the Timbrens # TFR1504E, and frankly not even both...

  • Is RoadActive Suspension Kit Needed In Addition to Weight Distribution
The answer to your question will depend on how you use your truck. Vehicle-based systems like the RoadActive Suspension system or air bags will work just fine with a weight distribution system, but they work best to suspend weight being hauled in the bed of a truck or in a vehicle's cargo area, while a weight distribution system does a better job of transferring a trailer's tongue weight from the rear tow vehicle axle to the front. If in addition to towing you also frequently carry heavy...

According to RoadActive, it is likely you won't even notice but at most you are looking at about an inch. This is a pretty common occurrence for newer 1/2 ton trucks. Due to their customer's demands for a more-car like ride featuring a softer rear suspension, the handling while towing suffers. If the tongue weight of the trailer is under 800 lbs, I'd go with the Curt # C17051 along with a friction sway control unit like # 17200. If the ice house has its own...
