Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Inno square bar roof rack system consisting of part numbers INB127, these are the Inno square cross bars 50 inches long, as well as part number INFR which are the Inno feet for the crossbars, particularly the factory raised side rails. The Inno square bar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, offering up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bikes racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. The square bars are very strong and sturdy, however they will make noise while you drive so you may have to purchase an after market fairing, which you can find on etrailer.com. Or you can upgrade to Aero bars, which you can also find on etrailer.com. And they simply wrap around your existing factory raised side rails with a rubber coated steel straps and have integrated knobs here to tighten them or loosen them up as you need, so you can take these on and off as you like while you travel.I'd like to give you a couple of quick measurements now.
From the center of the roof to the bottom of the bar is going to be about an inch and seven eighths, center of the roof to the top of the bar is going to be about two and seven eighths. So that's going to give you enough space in between the roof rack and the roof itself to attach your roof minded accessories without interference. However, you will not be able to use your sunroof, if you have one of those for your particular vehicle. Both parts combined have a carrying capacity of 220 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We already have our front bar installed onto our Escape and we have our rear bar partially assembled on our table here.
Our next step is, we're going to slide our Inno square bar foot here, onto the other end of our bar and then install it onto the roof.So we'll slide our square bar through this opening at the end and it just simply slides onto place. We'll then take our end cap here and that just pushes on to make sure everything doesn't fall off and now we can move on to our vehicle. So we'll set our bar into place, ensure our strap goes underneath here and then we'll measure from center to center on the bars on both sides, to make sure that's even and then from this point out on both sides to make sure the cross bar overhang is even as well. When measuring this out, you just don't it to be under 24 inches. Right, that looks good. We can wrap our strap up underneath to this top latch here and use our integrated knob to tighten it down, we'll do this on the driver's side as well.
Then we can put on our end caps, lock those in place, then we can load up our gear and hit the road. There you have it for the Inno square bar roof rack system on our 2018 Ford Escape.
