Picking Out Fan Direction for 1966 Ford Mustang with 302 Engine
Basically you'll just look at the current fan you have now noting the pitch of the fan blades and you'll know which direction fan blade you'd need. It depends on the drive belt system that's on the vehicle. Due to the age of your car and the possibility of the engine being from a different year I can't guarantee which direction you'd need. The two Derale fans referenced, their 20-inch Race Fan # D17320 and their 19-inch Flex Fan # D17019, will offer similar performance at lower RPMs, but at higher RPMs the Race Fan will deliver more air volume. The Derale 19" Heavy-Duty, Stainless Steel Flex Fan, Black Hub - Belt Driven - 10,000 RPM, part # D17019, is designed to work without a fan clutch. You will need a fan spacer, this takes up the space where the clutch used to be, to correctly position it in the fan shroud.
