Features to know about

Better Control on the Road: Rear Bar Reduces Body Roll

Few things make driving more tiring than constant side-to-side rocking. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar – 1-1/2" Diameter ties the rear axle to the frame to balance weight transfer through corners. The 1-1/2" thick 4140 chromoly steel bar resists twist far better than stock, cutting down on lean and keeping the ride level through turns or rough pavement. The result is a steadier, more predictable feel when maneuvering or changing lanes.

Installed Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar mounted between the rear axle and chassis, showing connection points and heavy-duty construction for improved vehicle stability.

Stable and Confident Handling: Cuts Sway from Crosswinds and Passing Traffic

Crosswinds or passing semis don’t have to feel like a fight for control. This bar uses the axle to brace the chassis, reducing side push and sway when wind or road conditions shift. That means straighter tracking with less steering correction, so long drives feel calmer and more controlled all the way down the highway.

Built to Last: Chromoly Steel and Polyurethane Bushings

The bar is built from 4140 chromoly steel—much stronger and stiffer than standard 1020 steel—and paired with polyurethane bushings that outlast rubber by resisting oil, gasoline, and ozone damage. That combination keeps flex in check and performance consistent over time. Less wear means less slop, tighter handling, and years of dependable use.

Close-up of Roadmaster anti-sway bar polyurethane bushings installed, showing durable, oil- and ozone-resistant material for long-lasting vehicle suspension performance.

Simple Bolt-On Setup: No Drilling Required

Installation stays straightforward thanks to the included heavy-gauge mounting hardware, pre-lubed bushings, and clear instructions. It bolts up directly to the axle and frame with no drilling needed, so you can get a solid upgrade without complicated modifications.

Works with Suspension Upgrades: Complements Front Bars and Stabilizers

If you’re already running upgraded shocks or a front anti-sway bar, this rear setup ties everything together for maximum stability. It’s engineered to avoid interference with most aftermarket gear, giving you a smooth foundation for a complete suspension system that keeps your rig balanced from front to back.

The anti sway bar is a big improvement when the truck bed camper is on. The installation took a bit longer than expected because the frame brackets don’t fit around an aftermarket B&W gooseneck hitch. I had to fabricate new top brackets and drill out the bottom brackets to widen the bolt pattern. Keep this in mind if you have a gooseneck hitch.

Received the product in a timely manner. The shipping company used I’d give a no star rating. I received the anti-sway bar bare out of a box or wrapper with the installation part box and a cut out piece of cardboard with the shipping label on it taped to the bare bar with about five yards of packing tape. The bar was scuffed, scratched and chipped with the RoadMaster label destroyed. I realize it’s going to be installed under the front of my motorhome but as much as it costed I would like to be the one to scratch and scuff it. If I was a company installing this on a customers vehicle I’d return it. I do not believe it was shipped from etrailer in this condition.

Great buying experience with ETrailer. Fast shipping and quality constructed part. Noticeable difference in controlling body sway. Very pleased with the bar and highly recommend Etrailer.

RM-1109-121 Rear Sway bar for 85 Chevyvan G30 RV. Install was pretty straightforward. I would mount the brackets to the frame first and then the sway bar to the axle. It’s easier to drill the holes without the sway bar getting in the way.
Before I replaced the shocks and upgraded the from sway bar and added the rear sway bar my G30 Chevyvan Winnebago was a wallow wagon. It took 110% focus to drive. Now it drives like a regular vehicle. Smooth. No leaning over when cornering. It’s night and day.

by:

Nice product. But Hardware was missing and I had to go buy parts. Is a bit more work to install than you would think. Also the directions are terrible, better hope you can visualize. I did by myself but sure would be easier with 2 people. Took me 3 1/2 hours

by:

Sure does help driving ability. These motorhomes need all the help they can get.

by:

2018 Chevy Express 3500 Cutaway box truck with a liftgate, swayed horribly. With this installed, she's rock solid.

by:

Excellent customer service- something sorely missing in todays world! The quality and delivery of the product were top notch. I will definitely do business with etrailer in the future.

by:

Went in place with some efforts,

Weight was great

After installing this front and rear sway bar my RV, it handled much better when in windy conditions and being passed by large trucks. The front sway bar install was very easy. The rear sway bar was much tougher and ultimately I had to have Camping World install that one. It took them about an hour and half to install just the rear sway bar. This was installed on a 2014 Chevy express 4500 frame.

by:

Dramatically improved the cross-wind stability when combined with front bar. Big investment in Material and Installation labor on both bars ~ $1800. Local shop charged $250 to install the front. A RV center installed the rear for $400.

Roadtrek Popular 210 on Michelin Tires handles stunningly well for a 9000 pound gross weight vehicle. Also mounted upgraded shocks all around and replaced deteriorated bump stops on front.

Replaced front sway bar attachment links with Chevrolet OEM for $85 for the set of two.

B-class Built on Chevrolet 3500 Express Cargo Long Chassis by RoadTrek Canada.

Fantastic follow up from customer service and quick turnaround time.

by:

I'm one year in on my install of this anti sway bar and I couldn't be happier. It was money well spent as, inconceivably, the manufacturer chose to not install one from the factory. My rig is way easier to drive now as probably 80% or more of the rear end float has been eliminated. Note though that this is not a simple self install. It took me a good full weekend with frame drilling and lots of time underneath my RV. It would assuredly be a bit easier if you asked a competent friend to help you.

GREAT COMMUNICATION AND INSTALLATION IN STRUCTION.

by:

This upgraded rear sway bar positively changed the drivability of my Class C RV to where I'm no longer fighting to keep it between the lines of the road - period!! I upgraded the front and the same time.

The installation was a little harder than I thought it would be, however, in the end it was worth it! I took a lot of photos, so hopefully it will tell my story.

I wasn't expecting to have to drill out existing threaded holes in the factory mounting location, as you'll see in the photos. However once completed, drilling through the rear frame section was a breeze. By the way, do yourself a favor and buy a new 1/2 drill bit before attempting this installation.

I did need a second hand with installing the frame connector bolt, as it was difficult to hold the sway bar with one hand and install the bolt with the other. It's a tight fit where the stabilizer bar link fit between the frame and leaf spring. And by the way, watch yourself on any exhaust hanger bolt! I bumped into it more times than I want to remember, so just be careful.

Bottom line: the manufacture of this 2013 Chevrolet 4500 series had no idea this was going to be turned into a 31' RV; therefore, it was necessary to upgrade the sway bars.

As I previously stated, it makes it pleasure to drive, and when I arrive at my destination I'm a much happier camper!

If you're thinking about upgrading this part of your suspension, don't just sit there, just do it! You'll thank yourself in the end!

  • Recommended Sway Bars for a 2015 Thor Chateau 26A on a Chevy 3500 Chassis
Sorry William but the Air Lift Air Helper Springs item # AL88138 only fit the 2015 Thor Chateau Motorhomes built on the Ford chassis. I checked with Air Lift and there are no options for air bags on the Thor's that were built on the Chevy 3500 chassis. You are going to need the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System item # TGMRG45 if you go that route. These bolt on and have a 8,600 lbs capacity. They will help address that top heavy sway feeling you get. I think sway bars would be a...

  • Suspension Upgrade for 2014 Class C Motorhome on Chevrolet 4500 Chassis To Reduce Sway From Wind
Hi Joe; the best upgrade you can make is to add anti-sway bars like the # RM-1109-175 you looked at. This is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Class C motorhome. The rear is the most important addition but the best option is to also add a front anti-sway bar # RM-1109-149 so the two work together to keep you stable. If you really want to go all out you can also add the RM Reflex Steering Stabilizer # RM-RBK23-RSSC. The stabilizer returns your vehicle to center which helps you keep control...

This combination will work very well for your vehicle and will minimize sway and driver fatigue by improving...

  • Will Adding a Steering Stabilizer Stop the Death Wobble on a 2011 Chevy Express 2500 Conversion Van
The first thing to look at is what is the underlying cause of the death wobble on your 2011 Chevy Express Conversion Van? Some vehicles just do it with no mechanical reason why. Others may be in need of some sort of repair or wheel balancing/alignment. • Rear Sway Bar Recommendation for a 2014 Forest River Sunseeker on a Class C Chevy 4500 Chassis
Yes, for your 2014 Forest River Sunseeker built on a 4500 Class C Chevy Chassis you would want the rear sway bar part # RM-1109-175. This is a 1-1/2 inch thick sway bar confirmed to fit your vehicle. The part # RM-1109-150 will also fit your RV but since it's a slightly thinner bar it wouldn't offer as much stability.
