Recommended Sway Bars for a 2015 Thor Chateau 26A on a Chevy 3500 Chassis

Updated 04/14/2025 | Published 04/12/2025

Question:

Looking at buying the AL88138 system for our 2015 Thor Chateau 26A based on the Chevy GS3500 chassis. Is it a bolt in system or is there drilling or welding required? I would like the air bags to assist in Sway and wind control, not lift. Do you recommend this, or should I also look at a Sway Bar? I have also looked into the Timbren bump stops TGMTG45. Talking to Alex this morning Regards

Sorry William but the Air Lift Air Helper Springs item # AL88138 only fit the 2015 Thor Chateau Motorhomes built on the Ford chassis. I checked with Air Lift and there are no options for air bags on the Thor's that were built on the Chevy 3500 chassis.

You are going to need the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System item # TGMRG45 if you go that route. These bolt on and have a 8,600 lbs capacity. They will help address that top heavy sway feeling you get.

I think sway bars would be a far better way to go. Air bags and springs are not the best option for sway control, they are better designed for load support. I checked with Roadmaster and for your 2015 Thor Chateau 26A you'll need the following parts:

Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter item # RM-1109-149

Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter item # RM-1109-175
