Video Transcript for Complete Breakdown of the Jensen Antenna

Today, we're going to take a look at the Jensen top or side mount black rubber mast antenna. Now, this is an AM/FM antenna, it's black in color, has a rubber mast. It is a top or side mount, and you can do that like right now it's set up for a top mount. For a side mount, all you have to do is take a screwdriver to the screw right here in the side, just loosen it up, and that'll allow you to rotate it. Then go ahead and tighten it down that way. Then with it tightened that way, you can see now it can be used as a side mount antenna.

The cable length it comes with is a little over eight feet long. It does have a ground wire with it. It does include all the mounting hardware to install this. Just the overall dimensions, total length on the mast itself is about sixteen and a half inches tall, the diameter on the mounting section is about two and three quarter inches in diameter. That should do it for the review on the Jensen top or side mount black rubber mast antenna..

Very prompt service. Rapid delivery. Excellent follow through. Thank you.

Haven't installed it yet. The mounting surface on my 1962 Econoline is curved and this mounting plate is flat and rather large. I need to source some dense foam or come up with a way to make the plate fit the curved cowl. If on a flat surface, this antenna would fit great. This is my issue, no fault of eTrailer. The antenna seems to be excellent quality. Everything you need is included.

Great product and great service. Thanks will order from yall again.

Product arrived safe and as scheduled. Installed on truck camper that had a stickum type of antenna where the AM/FM reception was so-so. No instructions included but wasn't necessary for installation. Hardest part of installation was drilling holes in the side of the camper. As only a suggestion, use clear silicone on base plate before tightening down screws and finishing the installation to prevent water penetration.

Purchase this antenna to replace a tall 36” chrome antenna that was damaged on top of my motor home. My previous antenna had a spring base but kept getting hung up on the top of the garage door damaging the base of the antenna. I chose this antenna after seeing similar antennas on other motor homes. I receive great reception with this antenna.

working great. Great reception

by:

no trouble installing took less than five minutes . it took longer to unfold step ladder than putting on

by:

5 stars for service and the antenna looks right, but waiting for the rain to stop before I can install it.

One star off on the product since there is no information/instructions on installation.
Appears to be pretty straight forward, but two plates and assume one goes under the outside skin and one on the inside, but not sure how to seal it. Butyl tape or not?

Silicone caulk is whats recommended, due to the fact that it stays flexible for a long time.

Works well

I needed to replace the exterior radio antenna for my Rockwood HW trailer. This was the perfect fit!

by:

I needed a antenna tower to match my feed cable which was run through the walls of my RV. Otherwise I would have had to fish a cable through a thin wall (No Fun!!!). This antenna had the identical match and saved me a lot of time! Was sent the day I ordered and I got it in 2 days. Very Happy with etrailer!!!

For an aftermarket antenna, I think it was better quality than the original. Doing fine, well made. Worth the small amount of money!!

by:

Works great near any urban area. Gets multiple channels automatically

by:

Great company to work with. Shipped quickly and arrived on time.

by:

I was dubious that the antenna for my Lance camper listed by etrailer could be the correct one, I mean the camper is 5 years old so what are the odds. PERFECT fit... in fact I could just install the components needed, no need to open the roof.

by:

ordered this antenna to replace a broken one, it was a flawless replacement, looks good and works good.

You should buy this!

by:

The antenna is exactly what I needed. Works great and will now last a long time. Unfortunately the original installation was done by someone requiring max supervision. Water under the bridge.
I gave four stars because I feel that since this antenna is advertised for an RV replacement antenna there should be an option to purchase antenna cables at longer lengths. I needed 18 feet to pull through to the radio.
As always, etrailer is my go to place for all of my RV and trailer needs. Thank you to all the fine professionals at etrailer that make my life simpler. Merry Christmas.

I do have an alternate antenna for you. It is part # AN519 and it has an 180 inch long cable. It has the longest cable of any of the antennas that we carry.

Great For an RV needing an extra long cable connection

by:

I chose to purchase a Jensen 44US01R antenna for a used travel trailer we recently purchased that did not come equipped with a radio antenna. etrailer had the best price around and free shipping on a $50 purchase. My antenna arrived promptly and I found the antenna mast was bent (rubber). It was properly packaged, so I called to ask if that is the way they were made. I was informed it should be straight and that they would replace it. Now this was not expected on my part considering it was a usable part. etrailer went above and beyond my expectations to make me a satisfied customer. Installation was easy and it seems to work well. Hopefully it will hold up to the elements over time. Thank you etrailer!

My Jensen antenna has held up well and seems to work okay for what it is.

by:

Direct replacement for our truck camper roof mounted am/fm antenna. The last one stood up to 14 years of service. Hoping the same for this one. Looks good to me.

by:

Plug and play. High quality. Works grea t.

by:

Ordered as a replacement for one that broke, just needed the top part. Was a direct replacement.

by:

I only needed the rubber mast to replace the already installed antenna on my 2013 Itasca Sunstar 27N Motorhome. I was able to merely screw the new rubber mast onto the the existing base, after removing the broken one. I saved all the additional hardware supplied for possible future use, if ever needed.

by:

Perfect replacement from original that broke

by:

Exact fit and quick shipping

by:

Great customer service and have been very happy with my purchased items.

by:

Antenna was not an improvement to my radio but the service at etrailer was great would definitely use etrailer again

by:

Replaced broken one on toy hauler matched identical to factory and no issues with replacing. Sealed it up and radio is back in action replaced it as we did a Crazy Seal roof coating install today!

  • Can Just the Mast Be Replaced On Rooftop Antenna for RV Stereo
We do offer various different antennas for RV stereos like the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R or part # JAN139. The difference mostly comes down to mast length, mount type, and cable length. The actual plug which goes into the stereo is universal so you don't have to worry about brand. That said, the actual mast is specific to the base which means you can't usually just replace this part so you'll need a new unit if yours is gone or damaged. I have attached our full list of antenna options...

  • Can I Buy Just the Jensen Antenna or do I Need to get a Whole New Kit?
Hello Les, Thanks for writing in. I reached out to Jensen, and unfortunately, they confirmed that the individual antenna parts are not available separately. They also could not confirm that the rubber mast from a new Jensen Antenna # 44US01R can be removed and swapped over to your existing ball mount. Since Jensen can't verify that the parts are interchangeable, I don't want to tell you that it's as simple as removing the screw at the ball and swapping the antennas. The best option is...

  • What RV Antennas Have a Rubber Mast/Mount?
Hi Jim, From what you're describing it sounds like you want something with a rubber gasket for waterproofing like that they have on cars. We have two antennas with that option, but they are significantly shorter than the AN110 you were looking at. The AN110 installs using a bracket due to its height and retractability, which is why these other antennas are shorter due to how they mount and the fact that they're not retractable. I will list them out below for you to take a look at: -...

  • Can Self Tapping Screws Be Used To Install the Jensen RV Antenna Part # 44US01R
The Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R comes with bolts/nuts not self tapping screws. However, you can add these using part # 1131832 (3). In regards to strength, the self tapping screws will hold the antenna just fine on your roof so there will be no issues here.

  • Is There An RV Antenna With 2 Or 3 Foot Long Cable?
We do have Jensen In-Wall Antenna - AM/FM - 6' Long # AN140 which is 6 feet long total, but it comes with a threaded on wire loom to hardwire to an antenna, and it can be removed which leaves you with about 3 foot long cable that would work for you and thread right into your new antenna without hardwiring anything. We also have Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast - 6" # JAN139 which is an antenna with 44-3/4" long cable.

  • How To Deal With A Roof Mounted Antenna When Putting On Your RV Storage Cover
Hey Tom, Typically you'd just bend the antenna down and have the cover sit over it. That's completely dependent on the length of the antenna and its flexibility though. If bending down isn't an option I'd just see if I could replace the antenna with one that has an adjustable base like the Jensen # 44US01R so that you can lay the antenna flat against the roof when the cover is being used. I would not cut a hole in the cover and add a grommet since this would likely just lead to a leak...

  • Can You Buy just the Mast with Ball Mount for the Jensen Antenna # 44US01R?
Hello Michael, Jensen does not sell just the half ball mount, you will need to purchase the Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast # 44US01R for that piece. I am very sorry that that is not a replacement part. What kind of camper is this going on? Any big trips in the near future? If so, where are you headed?

  • How To Install The Jensen Antenna With Rubber Mast On An RV
To install the Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast # 44US01R you'll need to drill a hole about 3/8" wide to fit the coaxial cable connector through into your RV. You'll also need to pre drill some holes for the mounting screws using a 7/64" drill bit since the included screws aren't self-tapping. You'll place the black gasket on the antenna over the coaxial connector and you will place the white gasket on the inside of the RV. Then run the screws through and tighten them up...

  • Static Sound from RV Speakers
If the static you are hearing on your Jensen Stereo part # JWM60A is only when the radio is being played then the issue is most likely with your antenna. I would try adjusting the antenna to see if the static goes away but it not then the antenna may be bad and will need to be replaced. For this, I recommend the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R which is both a top and side mount. • Removing the Rubber Mast on Jensen Antenna # 44US01R
The mast of the Jensen Antenna # 44US01R that you referenced can be easily removed by taking out the screw that attaches it to the base (see attached). The mast is actually rubber so I doubt it will do any damage to your cover if you fold it down, plus when you remove the rubber mast half of that ball joint is still attached to the base so it may be better to leave the rubber mast installed.

  • Do I Need to Use the Included Ground Wire With the Jensen 44US01R
You don't necessarily have to use the included ground wire on the Jensen # 44US01R, but as it was mentioned in the answer that you had looked at, it will help make sure you've got as clear of a signal as possible. With that said, I would think that it's likely that your current cable has a ground wire built into it that is grounded somewhere on the trailer already, so you probably don't need it. If you find that you're having issues with interference once you've installed the new antenna,...

If your batwing does not use the standard male antenna jack and you cannot convert it then it may be time to add a new modern antenna such as the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R which has both top and side mounts.
