I still need to install it but the quality looks perfect. I like that with this style you can mount it off-center if you have a spare tire as well on your back bumper I really appreciate the expedited shipping. I always shop from a trailer if I can.

Paint is holding up perfectly and it’s still easy to use. If you install this on a bumper, it’s really recommended that you weld the bumper to strengthen or get some products to help out. The torque on the frame connection will rip off the bumper eventually if not reinforced

Just installed this unit on my travel trailer bumper and it appears to be fairly heavy duty and secure. Did have some trouble getting it on the bumper but used my truck tire jack for leverage & it popped right on (see photo). The receiver is just what I need for my bike rack & 2 bikes that I will be hauling to Florida next month. Safety first & this unit looks well made & will hold to the challenges of the road.

After a year & 2 trips to Florida is perfect! No need to tighten the bolts due to vibration & wear & tear from a 45 lb bike rack & 40 lbs of bikes. I am extremely pleased with this receiver!

The Curt trailer hitch is solid as can be and couldn't have been any easier to install. Product arrived ahead of schedule and George at the erailer is great with email communications . I will be purchasing future products from this company. Great job George at etrailer. happy camping

This receiver fit perfectly and was easy to install. We have our Stow a Way luggage carrier mounted on the back of our little RV trailer.
Tried to download a pic but unsuccessful.

by:

As advertised, fit perfect on the back of my camper, no issues. Always great service from etrailer

by:

Solid hitch. Performs as it should, was easy to install.

by:

Haven't used it yet but I did have one on a previous trailer and it worked great. That is the reason that I purchased it..

by:

Thank you etrailer, I’ve been looking for this bumper receiver for my 38’ Keystone toy hauler for a bike rack. Ordered and four days later it’s here. Installed in 10mins, fits perfectly. I used a flat washer and nylok nuts instead of nuts supplied. Well built and sturdy.

This thing is holding up great. I had a different stile before and it broke driving down the road. Causing my cargo rack to fall off carrying my generator and my bb-qer. But this mount has been amazing

by:

Awesome product. I did have one problem with it but it was on my end. The bumper on my Keystone Summerland Series Mini was a little to close to the body so I had to flip the mount over to make the bolts work. Shipping was fast!!!! 4 days including the day I ordered. Would have been 3 but something happened with UPS. I will definitely be buying more products from etrailer Corporation.

Still holding up great a year later. It easily allows me to carry my cargo receiver which has my generator and a couple five gallon gas cans on the back.

I have a 21.5' Trail-Lite RV that had a plastic bumper. I wanted to put a Bike Rack on the back of the RV, so I bought some 3/16" 4" x 4" square stock and had a welder weld it on the back of the RV. This is a lot heaver duty than a stock bumper. Once the bumper was installed, I bought this Curt bumper hitch, part E-100, from etrailer.com. Installation was a breeze, and only took a few minutes. I used some grease and a small hydraulic jack to encourage the hitch to slide on. You DO NOT need to drill out the holes as some have reported. A 4 pound sledge will encourage the back hitch hole to pop above the 4" bumper. Use some never seize on the threads so it will come apart some day. Here is the finished product, with my e-bike installed. Shipping was quick and FREE! (I ordered over $100 of stuff)

by:

Torqued to spec. and works as expected. We hang a bike rack off of it on the back of a travel trailer. Solid design.

Reason not a 5: There was a slight alignment issue getting the bolts through both sides due to the stampings not being aligned when welded. Once I got the bolts through, no issue, but there was interference with the threads on the stamping; had to turn the bolts through as they would not slip through.
Still would recommend.

by:

Delivered quickly. Haven’t installed it yet and look forward to using this for my Thule Bike rack.

by:

A previous trailer hitch receiver was not adequate for a bike rack with heavy mountain bikes. It developed cracks in the metal. There’s a fair amount of vibration for a bike rack at the back end of a camp trailer. I bought the Curt receiver to mount a 50# Kuat bike rack to carry two +50# e-bikes. So the load is +150# plus the torque of extending almost three feet from the receiver. Worked great. An observer noted the rack and bikes were quite stable.

by:

Thanks to etrailer and Michelle for helping me select the Curt E-100 4" bumper mount cargo reciever hitch. The quick delivery helped us get on our fall trip accordingly. Definatly the right product for this application.

by:

Hitch mount was as info described. Needed to mount a heavy 4 bike rack on my RV. Arrived on time and fit perfectly. etrailer videos were very helpful in selecting the right hitch for my weight requirements. You took the time to make them to support the products, you earned my business because of it.

by:

Wow! Service was personal, quick & complete! Will definitely buy from the folks at etrailer again!

by:

Easy to install and has worked great for a bike rack on the back of our travel trailer.

by:

Great product, solid and easy to install on our Flagstaff Camper. E-Trailer kept a timely Email contact informing me of the tracking progress on delivery. Thanks for the great product and professional service.

  • Receiver Hitch Needed To Tow A Boat Behind An RV
Unless you know the towing capacity of the bumper you would be installing the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 on this would not be a safe way to tow your boat. You'll instead want to install a receiver hitch that's rated to tow and to know which size you'll need you'll have to measure from the inside of the frame beams to find the frame width. I recommend installing the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide Item # 13703 on your RV as it has a...

  • How to Determine the Compatibility of 2 RV Bumper Trailer Hitch Receiver E-100 With a Pop-Up Camper
Yes, the Trailer Bumper Hitch Receiver, part # E-100, can be used on towable pop-up camper units with up to a 4 inch square bumper. However, you cannot exceed the limits of your camper bumper. The bumper towing and tongue capacities may be indicated on the bumper itself, but if not you could check your camper owner manual or contact the manufacturer of your camper. You can view some general information on towing and the rest of the RV bumper hitches we offer at the links provided.

The 2 inch RV Bumper hitch, part # E-100, is designed to fit around a 4 inch square tube bumper. I went out to the warehouse and measured the distance from the top of the reciever tube to the bottom of the mounting bolt hole and it is indeed 4 inches. From the top of the receiver mounting tube to the top of the mounting bracket is 5 inches. You will have to measure to be sure that your bumper is 4 inches square and that there is clearance above the bumper for the hitch to mount.

This will provide a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver that you can use with a hitch mounted bike rack. I have included a link to the installation details for the hitch. Generally it is better to install a frame-mounted hitch like # C13701 on an RV rather than a bumper mounted type like # E-100. The reason is that not all RV bumpers are strong enough, nor are they always rated by the manufacturer for supporting enough suspended weight for a load like a bike rack. You can check with your RV maker using the unit's VIN to confirm whether or not the bumper can handle a hitch mounted to it, and if so what that bumper weight capacity is. You can also make the...

The Curt # E-100 RV Receiver is a great option that will fit with your Casita travel trailer. The Thule bike carrier is not rated for travel trailer use as none of theirs are due to the significant movement on the back of a travel trailer. My recommendation is to use the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack - 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y02476 which is rated for travel trailer use. We dont' have the parts you mentioned so we don't have any firsthand experience with them, but since you said 4 inch square bumper that most likely means you are planning on carrying a bike rack at the rear of an RV which when you do this you have to be sure to use a bike rack approved for use behind and RV. • Bike Rack Recommendation for Rear of RV
At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use. Swagman has the E-Spec part # S94FR which is RV approved and...

The bumper should be hollow. If it wasn't and was made of steel it would be very, very heavy! If the bumper has just one long weld its entire length then it would be a continuous weld. As far as the bumper capacity it can more than likely support the spare and a couple of bikes.
