This versatile rack has a heavy-duty frame that supports 2 e-bikes and extra-wide cradles that accommodate fat bikes. It's also great for carrying nearly any other type of bike.

Specs:
The Current's mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.
The extra-wide cradles hold fat bike tires up to 5" wide. They also slide to accommodate bikes with different wheelbases. Hand knobs let you release the cradles to slide along the bike tray and adjust for your specific bike lengths. Each cradle has a ratcheting strap so you can secure your bikes' wheels during transport.
A spring-loaded release lever in the base of the rack lets you tilt the rack down with bikes loaded for cargo area access. You can also use that same lever to fold the rack up against your vehicle for storage. A second spring-loaded release lever lets you fold the mast down so you can fold the rack up.
The ratcheting hooks have lock cores in the release buttons so you can secure your bikes to the rack. Simply slide the hooks over your bikes' top tubes until they click and lock them in place. There is also a keyed-alike locking hitch pin that secures the rack to your vehicle.
The rack has a removable aluminum sleeve that lets you convert the rack for use in 1-1/4" hitches.

This versatile rack has a heavy-duty frame that supports 2 e-bikes and extra-wide cradles that accommodate fat bikes. It's also great for carrying nearly any other type of bike.Coming from a Kuat bike rack made out of aluminum this thing is built like a tank. I needed the extra weight capacity of the Swagman for carrying two electric bikes from the Electric Bike company in Newport Beach, CA. The Electric Bike Company also recommended the Swagman for transporting their beach cruisers, since the Swagman secures the bikes by the upper frame rail of the bike and not from the tires like so many other racks. The EBC bikes have fenders and steel baskets, which make a rack that secures bikes by their tires unusable. The Swagman came packaged with zero damage, and went together in a matter of minutes. I put it on my truck to pre-test it out with our two bikes, and to get the bike tire holders properly spaced and tightened down. Our bikes each weigh 53lbs. and this particular Swagman has a max rating for 60lbs. per bike. The Swagman comes with a cable to lock your bikes, a locking receiver pin, and the arm that secures the bikes is lockable. So far, I'm really liking this rack, based upon the quality, security, and price.
Here is the review and the picture is attached. 5 Stars. “As I have two expensive eBikes, I want to leave little to chance. Although a lot heavier than aluminum racks, I fully trust the Swagman. I have had 2 issues: 1) one of the nuts that hold the yellow tire straps was lose. I tightened this, and no issues since. But it has made me keep an extra nut, spring and strap with my kit. 2) I transported my bike with a flat tire one time, and it did bounce free, as I did not push down as hard on the ratchet hook, as I should have. Like any equipment, get to know it for optimum use. I own a Haibike SDURO and my wife has a Pedego Interceptor. They each weigh about 50lbs. Mounted a 2” trailer hitch from [moving company] on the back of my Subaru Outback (least costly… about 2 hour install including trip to [hardware store] for the required metal drill bit). All good… I would recommend this rack. And etrailer Website videos gave me enough details to feel comfortable I was getting the right model. Thanks!“
When I purchased my new e-bike I had to upgrade to a new bike rack because my old bike rack could not handle the weight of the new e-bike. Since I had a Swagman XTC2 and was very happy with it, I went with Swagman again and I'm happy I did. The one key fits both the hitch pin lock and the bike hold down hooks. I can fold the rack back with a bike on it and lower the tailgate without having to remove the bike.
Great product - easy to assemble and great for our 2 bicycles, including my wife's Blix e-bike. The only criticism is, that on the box it says it fits 1 1/4" and 2" hitches - in the brochre it says NOT to use it on 1 1/4" hitches.
Received the Swagman Current for use with two E-Bikes on the back of a 22 foot Sprinter RV chassis. The hitch was very easy to put together...took about 30 minutes. This is a solid bike rack. Mounted the bike rack onto the Sprinter using the locking hitch bolt. The only movement from the hitch is with the pivot mechanism, which isn’t too bad. Ran into three problems right off the bat. I was hoping the tilt mechanism would allow rear door access.....it does not. Second problem is with the close proximity of the inner bike to the rear window. Shake the bike hard enough vertically and it will bang the glass. Resting position is about 4 inches from the window. The hitch tilts up an inch or two which makes this possible. Third problem is with the lock down hooks. The E-Bikes are step through type so the hook pushes down on an angle. It works but is not desirable. Unfortunately, the long hook won’t disengage after locking down. Have to release the wheel straps and release all pressure on the hook in order to slide it up. Solution to problems one and two is a swing out extender....on order now. Solution to the third problem are adapter bars.....also on order. Total investment to make this works is around $850. I’ll have to update once the additional parts arrive.....fingers crossed ; )
Fantastic product, with super shipping and order support. Given that it's rated for bikes twice the weight of these 2, I was looking for something really solid, and this delivers! Had to reverse the ordering of the hold-down arms to get a good hold on the bike with a low topbar, and I had to use a bar adapter for the lowstep bike, but it all worked. Some people had expressed concern about the bikes or rack blocking the taillights, but on my Honda Pilot there was no problem. Only issue -- which isn't its fault -- is that my backup camera/collision warning system thinks it's going to hit the bike and alerts when in reverse; don't think there is a workaround there. The rack and bikes do not extend past the width of the Pilot, which is nice. When empty and folded up, it's very compact, and the rear hatch opens with plenty of clearance. Unlike the pictures online, the tiedown straps are black, not vivid yellow, which suits me fine. Very solid and well made!
1 year later. Fabulous rack that is left on full time. We have just enough clearance to open Suburu Outback hatch! Have had to replace rubber straps and hitch bolt. Can’t complain, especially considering it has seen a lot of coastal time. I do back up the rubber straps with gear ties.
ordered bike rack on telephone and received 3 days later (in CA!). it was easy to install on our class c. i have to admit i was a bit nervous when i saw the pics only on instructions but my hubby was fine with it. assembled in no time. put our e bikes on it and now we are ready to roll. unit seems very secure. we did put 2 bungee cords to hold the e bikes rigid to each other as our wheels seemed wobbly. very satisfied with it this far.
Arrived on time pretty easy to put together super solid looking bike rack haven’t used it yet will do a review after I use it
I have two Lectric Ebikes. This my second attempt to find a bike ramp to carry both bikes. Finally success. Holds and safely secures both. Solid construction. Fits on my 2" truck hitch and the 1-1/4" trailer hitch. Very pleased. See my photos.
This bike rack works pretty well for our two Lectric e-bikes. We've only used it for a couple of vacations, but all in all we were pleased. The bars that slide down over the bikes to secure them don't give a lot of options for our bike frames. One is a step thru, and they have to be loaded just right or they can come loose from vibration. We found that out during the noon rush hour on I-40 in Amarillo when the bike closest to our Expedition came loose. It didn't fall off though and after resecuring the bike, we made it home without further incident. On a positive note, it's great to be able to open the back of the vehicle without removing the bikes. When staying at hotels,we try to find a parking spot where we can back in close to a bush to lesson the chance of foul play. If you have an e bike or two, this rack is the best, affordable option we found.
It’s worked out very well for me. No shaking, vibration . Just smooth. Thank you
In fairness the unit works as advertised. My primary complaint is that it’s heavy. Much harder to quickly install/remove compared to traditional bike rack (not for e bike). Makes me less likely to throw it into the car for a quick ride.
Great Product! Will work with with probably any bike and is well made and very simple to assemble. Will be used to carry two e-bikes on a class C motorhome. Etrailer is a great company to to do business with.
Excellent product. Very well built and an innovative design. Installed it on my class C motor home for two E bikes with no problem. I put it together in my garage but it would have been a bit easier if I would have connected it to the RV first and then assembled it. My two E bikes each weigh 60 lbs each and I see no problems with this rack handling the weight. One of the E bikes is a step thru and I had to put the lower hook the opposite way the directions said. I also added a bit of cushioning to make a tighter fit. Again, excellent product. I highly recommend.
Rack appears to be high quality, well designed, well built, sturdy and has a streamlined appearance on our 2018 Jeep Cherokee. Assembly took about an hour, was straightforward, a little awkwardness but not too difficult and certainly within the strength and physical capability of this 70 year old. Only minor issue was that the parts list didn't include the two brackets to mount the cross bars and I didn't notice their mention in the assembly instructions. When I was finished and saw them left over I went back through the instructions and then detached and reinstalled the cross bars with the brackets. This wasn't a huge deal. Loading and fastening our bikes (two heavy EBikes) on the rack is pretty simple and easy. They also appear to be quite stable and secure. Although I haven't taken them on a trip as yet. One thing worth noting is that the rack is a little too heavy and unwieldy for my wife to fold down and back up, even without the bikes loaded, for tailgate access. So, I will be detaching it from the trailer hitch when not using it. Fortunately, detaching it from and re-attaching it to the hitch is fairly easy. I would rate this rack as a fine product, good value and the etrailer purchasing and customer service communication experience was outstanding.
This bike rack fulfilled our expectations in every way—the two sizes of hitch, able to accommodate e-bikes if we go there in the future, VERY adjustable for our 2 different sized step-through bikes, folds down easily with bikes on it to open rear hatch (we have a 2019 Subaru Forester), folds up quite flat when not loaded, and GREAT locking systems! We couldn’t be happier!!
Received the bike rack in record time. Took a little time to assemble but the directions were very clear and the pictures helped. Very heavy once assembled. Have installed it on my car but haven't transported my ebike as yet. Very sturdy construction and should be able to accommodate my ebike which weighs 41 lbs without the battery. My previous rack was also a Swagman but was not 'rated' to carry the weight of an ebike....thus this purchase. Will be very anxious to see how it works with my ebike.
Great bike rack. Easy to use and supports 2 62 lb bikes nicely.
Exactly what we were looking for. Tried two other racks from another company and returned both. Price is outstanding for the rack you get. Easy to assemble, easy to adjust to individual bikes, easy to load bikes with the center support in the down position. Holds bikes very securely and no worry of shifting in transport. Would definitely recommend.
assembly straightforward and quality construction. Heavy duty materials and fit to rv and Jeep wrangler rubicon recon was good, allowing good clearance of unit and bikes between Wrangler spare tire and brake light. Holds two bikes, one is an e bike, with good room between. Some wobble at point of holding hooks and frames but segment of pool noodle attached to bike frame cross bars secured them and eliminated slight loose fit at those points. This unit has to be American made judging from the workmanship and quality of materials. Theresa, in customer service and orders, provided all the prepurchase information I needed and was very good at followups. I recommend using this company.
Service was great! I could not believe how quickly I received the bike rack. Assembly was easy and we have used it daily since receiving about a week ago. The rack seems to be very robust and sturdy. I feel confident in driving down the road with our Lectric E-bikes mounted on the back of my truck.
So far so good. Seems a little loose in the receiver though. Have not driven with it yet, but went together well. A little concerned as although it says for 1 1/4"/2" receivers, inside in the instructions it says not to be used on class 1 1 1/4" receivers. Not a problem yet as I have a 2" receiver, but might be confusing if I had not had a 2".
Very strong rack. There is no doubt that this will safely hold two E-bikes. It keeps my bicycles safely secured when the holding bars are in place - never had a question about them bouncing loose. It offers several ways to keep the bicycles secured to the rack and to the vehicle, thwarting bike thieves. After taking some time to properly position the locking bars and adjust the four wheel holders, I then marked on the rack which bike goes on first and which direction each bike pointed as well as which the position of each locking bar. This made mounting the bikes much easier each time the rack was used. I like the feature that allows the rack to fold down and away from the vehicle so came open my tailgate without removing the rack. This rack is heavy and so much easier to put onto the vehicle hitch with two people. It does not fold up into a small area so storing it easily is not a strong feature. I put it on a small, flat 4-wheeled furniture dolly to move it around the garage when it is not on my truck. It is an awkward piece to store.
Simple to use and easy to adjust for a variety of bike types (e-bikes, mountain bikes, etc.).
