Question:

Hi, could you please take a look at this ebike frame link at end and tell me if you see a way this Swagman rack could accommodate a pair of them? I dont understand how the hooks will hold down the frame. Thank you. the-gateway-by-monday-motorbikes

The Gateway by Monday Motorbikes has 4 inch wide tires but I can't find information on the overall weight. I see the battery is 13 lbs, and I recommend removing that for transporting if that gets you within the rack parameters.

The Swagman Current 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S64678 you asked about is rated for up to 60 lbs per bike so it very well could work depending on the Gateway's weight. We have one rack that is rated higher in the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR. This is rated for up to 80 lbs per bike.

With hooks like you pointed out, you would need to use a bike adapter bar between the round part of the seat post frame and the handlebars for the hook to latch onto. I recommend Swagman # 64005 and have linked a video to assist.

Thank for following up. The issue that is frustrating is the term RV is used too loosely. People including our staff use it to describe motorhomes, travel trailers, and 5th wheel trailers. This normally is no big deal, but bike racks are rated differently for all three of those so I apologize for the confusion we have added to. Travel trailers get the most sway causing the most abuse to a bike rack, followed by 5th wheel trailers, and motorhomes being the least but still substantially more than a standard vehicle due to rear axle placement and size. We have worked diligently with manufacturers to specify the actual ratings for each bike rack as you saw with the green checkmark. There are definitely limited options when it comes to 1-1/4 inch receivers and the weights you specify and then adding motorhome use narrows that further. The Swagman Current # S64678 has been confirmed for Motorhome use but not for all "RV" use as it's not rated for 5th wheel trailer or travel trailer use. The Thule EasyFold XT is not rated for any of them (not even for motorhomes). I hope this provides the clarity you need. I wouldn't hesitate to use either option as they are both great bike racks with different perks to their design.
