It was made in China. The connections are lightly copper plated and not a high % of copper. Makes me wonder what the wire looks like. Instructions say always store indoors. Makes me wonder if the exposed copper plug and pins will rust? It also says do not cover cord when in use to avoid over heating. Now I really wonder what they used for internal wiring.... I think I'll send it back. etrailer's service and quality is usually excellent and I have bought over a thousand dollars worth of items since 2022 from them and have always been more than pleased with what I received up until this item. I am sending this back. The company's customer service is just top notch and can't be beat.

I needed this adapter in case the campground I go to only has 50 amp service hookup. Etrailer had just what I needed and at a great price. Their website has great information on all their products and superb technical help on product review videos and customer help. You can’t do better than Etrailer when it comes to great service, fast shipping and excellent customer service.

I really do like this heavy duty power cord. It is a super value and is very easy to unplug the male end. Also it is very flexible even in cold weather. A great product for any camper who needs an extension to their RV. Thanks again for such great products from your company…you can’t go wrong with etrailer.com.

E trailer always does a job!

by:

This adapter is necessary for a camp site only have 50 Amp outlet while your trailer has only 30 amp plug. I have spent a lot of time try to find this one, but nowhere can it be found except on etrailer.com website. Note if your wire are 20 or 30 amps you don't want to load up too many devices/electric loads even if you are hooked up to a 50amp site. This is something I always carry with me while traveling.

by:

Since I only received it today, I've only had time to look at this adapter. Inspecting it I can say it appears to be well put together and should work well. I borrowed one on my last trip for running our AC unit and additional amps available made everything, even the cords, a lot cooler than the 30 amp cord would normally run directly connected to park power post.
Based on that experience I bought this one to allow the air conditioner run a lot more efficiently.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for better electrical performance.

by:

Just what I needed

by:

Went to a week end horse show and unable to use my air conditioning due to my plug not fitting their outlet. Contacted the people at etrailer and they solved my problem right away. This adapter fits my plug and now if I arrive at a campsite with 50 amp rather than 30, I am golden, and now I can stay cool!

by:

The plug is exactly what I needed to step up to a 50amp. I was thankful I had it when running air conditioner non stop this summer. So many of these plugs burn up but this one is holding up!

by:

Being new to the travel trailer community, I have found that there are always necessities that are a must to have on board. This adapter for connecting a 30 amp power converter to a 50 amp electrical service fits the bill where a 50 amp power source is the only service available. E-trailer could provide the adapter for a more reasonable price and more quickly than the other provider I researched.

by:

works and looks great.

by:

A 30 foot power cord came with our travel trailer. I had a feeling that this might be short in certain instances. I have needed the extention cord about 50% of the time. Glad I got it! Works great, and very flexible.

by:

I trust the products I purchase at etailer and this item is no different, top quality and in use as we speck!

by:

Superb product! It's been working fine for more than one year. I really appreciated the follow up etrailer.com did after product purchase to ensure I was satisfied. I'd shop no where else for my RV needs.

by:

Excellent construction

by:

Best price, quick delivery (even using economy). Exactly what I needed to avoid having to rewire the existing outlet. A welcome addition to my class C
toolbox.

by:

As always customer service and products rate at a very high level. Fast shipping too! Thanks for always being our go-to for our RV parts and supplies!

by:

Used this with my Leisure Travel van last year at a 50AMP only RV park in California - worked perfectly!

by:

Does what it is supposed to do. Handy to keep in the trailer incase you are at a campground with different amperage.

  • Will 50 amp to 30 amp Adapter be Okay to Use with 50 amp Source and 30 amp Converter
Using a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter like the part # A10-5030FBK will be totally fine for your application. The 50 amp power source will be 240 volts and the 30 amp will be 120 volts but the adapter cuts the voltage down to correct number and the extra amperage won't be an issue either.

  • Does Mighty Cord Adapter # A10-5030FBK Reduce 240v to 120v?
Never fear! I went ahead and reached out to my tech at Valterra (the manufactures of Mighty Cord products) and she confirmed that the RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-5030FBK takes the 240v down to 120v. This this factor, it is fine to use with a 30-amp RV.

  • Availability of 30 Amp to 50 Amp Adapter
We do have adapters like the # A10-5030FBK which will allow you to plug a 30 amp into a 50 amp but we don't have anything to boost the outlet you're using for your TV. It sounds like the power at the park may not be the best which happens sometimes. Since you mentioned you're only running the TV at home it may also be that you're overloading it with everything you're running while hooked up at the park. You might want to try running the same things at home to see if you experience the same...

  • Is the Mighty Cord 30 Amp Female to 50 Amp Male Adapter Rated for 30 Amp 120V or 30 Amp 240V
The Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-5030FBK is exactly what you are looking for. It only utilizes one of the pins on the 50 Amp side so the 30 Amp side is only rated for 125V (also known as 120V). Attached is a review video for you to reference as well.

  • Recommended 240v 50 Amp to 120v 30 Amp Adaptor
I spoke to my contact at Valterra and found that the # A10-5030FBK steps down a 50 amp service receptacle (2 X 120VAC) to 30 amps supply. This would work great for your camping trailers electrical system. I have linked the above mentioned product to this page for your convenience.

  • What Would Happen if Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-5030FBK Was Exposed to Rain
Water and wiring connectors generally don't do well together. If the female side of the # A10-5030FBK is exposed to quite a bit of water though it will start to corrode over time. That said it is normally used outside so as long as you can keep it away from the weather as much as you can it'll work well for a long time. You'd just have to come up with a way to keep it out of the rain/weather as much as possible.
