Question:
I have a 30amp trailer and I am going to a campsite that only has 50amp service. What items do I need to run a surge protector? I have reviewed your QandA pages, but have found conflicting information. Can I run a 30amp surge protector with a 30amp female to 50amp male dogbone? So, the final product would be the 50amp site outlet 50amp male to 30amp female dogbone 30amp surge protector camper 30amp cable. Thank you for your help.

You have it correct.
From the RV connection, you will use the 30 amp female to 30 amp male power cord like # A10-3025ED90. Then you will have your 30 amp surge protector like # CAM55312 for single surge or # CAM55301 for multiple surge with automatic reset which is what I recommend. Then you can use an adapter like the Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter - 30 Amp Female to 50 Amp Male - 12" # A10-5030FBK to connect to the campsite power service.
