Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Furrion 50-amp to 30-amp marine power adaptor Y-cord. Now, this Y-adapter is used to connect one dockside outlet into two weatherproof connectors. Now, the dockside connector is a 50-amp 125/250 volt male plug, and the two female connectors are 30-amp 125 volt. Now they do use, on the connectors, the bright blue LEDs in all the ends. And the reason they do that, it'll illuminate when it's connected to power. They call it their Powersmart voltage indicators.
This will assure you that the power is present the moment you plug the cable into the outlet. And it's also bright enough, it'll help it easy to see the connection in your dark areas. It does have, on the connectors, they use molded rubber side grips, made of an easy soft-grip material for easy connecting. The female end plugs, if you notice, they have the plastic locking rings on them to make a nice secure connection. And they even have tethered covers to protect the terminals when they're not being used. And if you notice, this part also includes these sealing collars.
And these are for the female end connectors, in case the plug that goes into them doesn't have a thread on them that you can use the locking collar. Then what you can do is use the sealing collar, and that'll thread into that. And then when you plug it in it'll give you a nice sealed connection. This cable is a heavy-duty, marine-grade construction. As you can see, it's a nice bright yellow color cable. It is a universal fit with many other brands.
Now, for added protection, they've included this nice heavy-duty weatherproof storage bag. Basically it has a hook and loop handle here, that you can just . Open it up, remove the handle. Then it has a zipper on all three sides. So it gives you a nice, wide opening.
Take your coiled cord, drop it right in there. All your accessories will fit right in there. So it gives you one place to keep everything, and a way to haul it around. Put your handle in the hook and loop fastener just like that. And then you can just carry it around just like that. Also includes this nice glow-in-the-dark industrial grade hook and loop strap. And that's used for when you coil this up, to keep it coiled up, because it's such a large gauge of wire. You can use this hook and loop fastener to do that. And because it's glow-in-the-dark, you'll be able to notice where your cable is by seeing that glow-in-the-dark strap.A few specs on this. The length of it is about 3'. The amperage again we're going to go over is, on these two female connectors, they are a 30-amp 125 volt connector. On the male plug it's a 50-amp 125/250 volt plug. The wire gauge used on the male plug is a 6 gauge wire, and on the female connectors, they use a 10 gauge wire. But that should do it for the review on the Furrion 50-amp to 30-amp marine power adaptor Y-cord.
