Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Westin replacement step pad. This is going to replace one step pad for your Westin Platinum Series three inch diameter round step bar. This is constructed of non-slip polymer plastic, so it is going to give you a nice, firm step surface, and that it's going to be UV resistant, so you're not gonna have to worry about it cracking or fading. And this will fit on the front or rear step pad area. They do include barrel clips to help get this installed, as well as instructions to walk you through that installation process.

Give you a few measurements here just to give you some extra reassurance. You can see this is 19 and three quarters of an inch long by approximately three and one eighth of an inch wide. But because this is a direct replacement from Westin, you can trust that it is going to fit with your Westin step bar. So, no worries about fit issues or compatibility problems or anything like that. We do have a graphic on our product page that will give you more measurements as far as the spacings for your studs here.

DOES NOT FIT. The product selector said it would fit. It does not. The inner pins line up. The outer pins are about a quarter inch off. Obviously the wrong application. What is more common than an F-250? Only an F-150. A comment on the material: This is junk. Why make a step pad out of brittle, slippery plastic when you could use a more tactile rubber, more like stall mat material? As this junk plastic ages, it just gets more brittle and cracks apart worsening the slip hazard. Answer is simple; you have to buy more to replace them. Joke's on us. I appreciate the effort to make installation videos, but it is no compensation for junk products. I am going to make something myself out of rubber. At least it will be safe if not pretty.

When you say "product selector" do you mean you talked to someone here at etrailer, or the fit guide? Trying to get this issue resolved for you, but need a little more information.

Bought for my Bully step rails for my F150. Everything fit perfectly, but the plastic pins just collapsed on installation no matter how gently I tried to tap them in. I ended up cutting the plastic pins off, drilling holes and using anchors to install the pads. It doesn't look as good, but it works.

I am happy that you got these pads to work for you. Do you have Westin Platinum series 3" nerf bars or Bully nerf bars? These are designed for Westin but we don't carry a step pad for the Bully brand 3" nerf bars at this time.

Of the two (2) replacement pads that I've purchased, only one of them mounted securely. The other did not. The pad has four (4) clips, and of the 4, 2 did not want to fasten into place. When one of the clips was hammered down with a rubber mallet, it would cause the end clip to unfasten and pop out of place. Vice versa, if I hammered the last clip in, it would fasten but then pop the prior clip out of place. I would really like a follow up with this by your company after reading this review.

The attached photo shows red arrows indicating clips that would pop in, then pop out once the other is hammered into place. Back and forth, back and forth, until I gave up and left it as shown in the 2nd picture attached. Green arrows show clips that had no problem fastening and staying secured.

I'm sorry to hear that these replacement step pads aren't fitting properly for your bars. Can I ask what the year, make, and model of the truck is and what cab style do you have? I can use this info to help determine fitment.

I ordered 2 of the replacement step pads for my Westin nerf bars. After at least 11 years they 2 started to break free.
When my pads arrived, I installed the first with no problems. The second one seemed to have softer pegs and squished on install.
I contacted etrailer and the pad was replaced without any hassle at all. I installed that one and am very happy with the product and with etrailer and their superb customer service.

I had a little difficulty keeping the ends of the pads secure in the holes. They seemed not to hold sufficiently enough. Sometimes they would pop up and become loose. I finally got them all secure but I hope that they stay secure. No big thing I wasn't sure if the clips were the correct ones, but I finally was able to get them in the proper place.

I installed the pads and everything was holding pretty good. Every once and while one will loosen on the ends but if I push hard or hit them with a hard rubber mallet they work for a while longer. Thanks for checking up on your product. Thanks again Andy Greer

It looks like you did indeed order the correct clips for your tube step. You might also make sure that the clips are seated properly in your truck, and the tabs might need a little adjustment for a more secure attachment.

While the part is correct for my application, the fit is very poor. What you will find is that because the contour of the part does not match the contour of the running board, one of the fasteners will not hold and that side of the part will lift up. After a year I can say it is still frustrating trying to force the part into place only to have it pop back up. It is more than a cosmetic problem in that it can catch your foot on entry to the vehicle. It also allows water to get into the running board. There is not an alternative to this part and there is not a good way to 'fix' it. I guess the upside is that it kind of covers the area and mostly stays in place.

Product and packaging were excellent. But installation instructions were backwards. I followed directions for the first 2 pins, both of which failed to seat properly. Then I placed the little metal piece on the rubber pins before pushing them into the holes. That worked perfectly for the remaining 14 pins. The first two pins never did seat properly.

I was pleased with how easy it was to order and how quickly the product was delivered.
The one step pad installed with no challenges, however, on the second one the middle two pegs are squishy and move up and down when you step on it. I'm not sure if we need different/bigger barrel clips.

I have contacted Westin and sometimes the holes can become elongated in the pad. If this is the case you will need to double clip the step pad on the hole that is no longer holding. You will need part # 60-0244.

I am not sure that these will fit OEM bars that were installed at the factory. They were designed for the Westin Platinum Series 3 inch round tubes, but we have not tested them with anything else and cannot say for sure. I wonder if Dick M. does not actually have OEM bars, but rather a dealer installed set of Westins. These do require additional barrel clips.

The Westin Platinum Replacement foot pad fit my old 1996 Truck nerfbar perfectly. My old ones were starting to slowly come off and become dangerous. Ordering and shipping was quick. Thank you!

It seems that Westin doesn't make a great product. The step pads don't want to stay down on one end if the rest of the pad is down and in the barrel clips. Either both ends stay down and the middle bows, or the front three stay down but the back one comes up. I measured the existing step pads and they measure identical to the ones I received.

That being said, they were received quickly and the price was right. Westin may be junk, but I will definitely consider another purchase with etrailer.com.

the wrong barrel clips to install this pad etrailer delivered fast and had the correct hardware dont waste your time with universal parts etrailer had the exact factory replacement(BTW) when you install this place the clips in the holes and make sure you have all 4 anchors lined up and press down from front to back easy peasy!

I'm really not sure why they're so hard to find, but we do have a number of step pads that might work. It looks like the closest one we've got available is going to be the Replacement Step Pad for Westin Platinum Series Nerf Bars - 20" Long - Qty 1 # 26-0001. Jerry, we actually don't carry replacement parts for Bully nerf bars unfortunately, so it looks like the closest step pad we have that could possibly work is the Replacement Step Pad for Westin Platinum Series Nerf Bars # 26-0001. This step pad measures 20" overall, has 4 pins that measure 5 15/16" (-1/16") from the outer pin to the inner pins, and 6 5/8" (+1/8") between the inner pins.

We have several Westin replacement step pads that are near 19 inches but none that are exactly 19 inches. We have # 25-0001 which is 19-3/4 inches long and 3-1/8 inches wide. I do have similar replacement step pads that may work for you but none of our step pads match the measurements you have provided. However, we do have 2 options that are very similar. For a left to right peg spacing of 6",6-1/2",6" you will want part # 25-0001 and part # 26-0001 for a peg spacing of 5-15/16",6-5/8",5-15/16". All of our peg spacing measurements are taken from the center of each hole. They are sold as a single replacement and you will need to purchase 4 for a full set.

I was not able to find a step pad with the matching dimensions that you've provided, unfortunately. The closest I was able to find to what you're looking for is the Replacement Step Pad for Westin Platinum Series Nerf Bars # 26-0001 which measures 19 13/16" long from end to end, has spacing between the outer pegs to the inner pegs of 5 15/16" and an inner peg spacing of 6 5/8". Since you don't know the brand or have any info on the steps it might just be easier to replace the bars altogether....

I reached out to the manufacturer and they said the only replacements to OEM step pads they have are from 2015 to current. Any product they have before 2015 are just replacement parts for their own products. If you were looking to replace your running boards, the Westin E-Series Round Nerf Bars # 23-3155 is a great item.
