  • Half-Slider Vent: Sliding section allows airflow into the van.
  • Spring-Loaded Latch: Holds the window open or closed to reduce movement while driving.
  • Built-In Mesh Screen: Keeps insects out while the window is open.
  • All-Glass Exterior: Frameless appearance once installed.
  • Urethane Bonded Install: Installs with urethane adhesive for a sealed fit.

Features to know about

Low-Profile Bunk Window

This window installs into the wall space above a bed platform where a full-height window would interfere with cabinetry, structure, or both. It brings in light while keeping the sleeping area intact.

Half-Slider Vent Section

The sliding portion allows airflow into the bunk area. A spring-loaded latch holds the panel in position to reduce movement while driving, and a built-in mesh screen keeps insects out.

All-Glass Exterior

The exterior surface is flush glass for a smooth appearance once installed. The window bonds directly to the body using urethane adhesive, creating a sealed edge around the opening so the bunk stays sealed when closed and still gives you airflow when the slider is open.

17% Gray Solar Privacy Tint

This bunk window sits at eye level from outside, creating a direct view into the sleeping area when parked near others or in public spaces. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.

Video Transcript for Review of Van Windows Direct Van Windows - Half-Slider Window - VW79FR

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at our Van Windows Direct SE Series half slider bunk window. Now folks, this is going to be for the driver's side and if you're building out a camper van, adding the right windows can completely change how that space inside feels from more natural light, better airflow, improve comfort, and just the looks of the van and everything as well. So today we're taking a look at this SE series driver's side half slider window. So half slider, I can pull the tab back here and as you can see, I can slide halfway.

And now I have the screen over here. And as you can see, that screen can actually open or close as well so I can actually get to the full outside if I so choose. Now I do want to zoom in here so you can see this a little better. Again, you got that screen there and the latch. So let's spin this around so you can see the backside.

So this is the latch. It's literally just pull and then you just pull the window slider. And then same thing with the screen. If you want to slide it, you just simply slide it. You can do it all together if you want or individually.

It's totally up to you. Now this is a nice tempered glass. It does have a 17% gray tint and that's going to limit how much someone can see inside your van while also taking away the glare. You can see if I tilt it up, it's got a nice reflection. You're not really seeing through at that point, you're seeing the lights in the studio, but you can see that nice tint.

It's hiding my hand. Now this does measure 40 inches long by 15 inches tall. So it's sized specifically for sleeping areas. And again, it's going to give you that nice natural light and ventilation without taking a valuable wall space. Now the cutout, the backside I was showing you earlier, that's 37 and a quarter long by 12 and a half. They even give you this cardboard template cutout. Now that being said folks, again, this is for the backside. That's why it's smaller than the glass itself. Make sure, just like it says here on the disclaimer, always, always measure a couple times before you cut. Don't just trust that that template is 100%. Things happen in production. It could be an eighth of an inch off. Who knows Just always double check that, please. I'd hate for you to cut it whole in your van and then have a big gap or something. Now talking about installation, if you don't want to tackle it yourself, we have installation locations across the US. You can simply use our install locator link below or on the product page. And then you can click on that, enter your zip code and find trust to etrailer techs in your area. Now this has been built with a durable black aluminum frame and it's going to give you a clean factory style appearance. And you will need a Urathon bonded installation. What do you mean by that You're going to need to get some black color urethane and it's made specifically by Sikaflex. It's the company that makes that. And we carry that here separately. We have a couple kits. If you have a large window that's item number VW74ZR, a small window like this one, you probably would be okay with that one on the right there, the VW84ZR sold separately. And that's going to hold this in place. It's going to give you that watertight seal, and it's going to secure everything and give you a professional finish look. Now that being said, if you're cutting through your van, you're also going to need obviously a jigsaw, some kind of sandpaper, primer paint, those kind of things. So check out the product page. We list everything that you should need on that product page. And you can also check out the installation instructions before you make your purchase as well if you're going to tackle it yourself. Well, folks, again, if you're looking for a high quality sliding bunk window, this is the Van Windows Direct SE series for the driver's side. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
