Question:
Hello, I am trying to buy the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch - C13316. However I would also like to add the lights wiring. Can you please recommend all the parts or item number that I need in order for my BMW 2011 X3 28i xDrive to work properly with my brake lights? Also, do you think this part Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2inch Hitch Receivers - 63080 will be compatible with the CURT trailer receiver hitch even if it is a different brand? Thanks, I am waiting for your answer to place my order.

To go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13316 on your 2011 BMW X3 I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59236. This powered converter will connect to the battery for the power that goes to the trailer lights. This will prevent the vehicle wiring from being overloaded due to the excess draw that a non powered converter will cause.
The Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover # 63080 is only designed to be used on Draw-Tite 2" Receivers. I have seen customer reviews that they tried to fit it onto a Curt receiver and it would not fit.
I recommend the Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp # C27UR for eliminating the rattle from the free play in the receiver tube to the ball mount or other hitch mounted accessory. The no tool installation and removal make it easy to use when you need it.
The etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 will provide you with 2 different ball mounts to allow you to use the one that will be closet to your trailer height. Also included are 2 receiver pins, a 2" and 1-7/8" trailer ball, and a carry bag.
