Video Transcript for MB Sturgis Propane - Hoses - 100473-12 Review

Today we're going to be taking looking at the MB Sturgis Propane hose assembly. This is used to connect the remote tank to a high pressure regulator in order to carry the gas across the coach to the two stage regulator. This is commonly found on travel trailers where the LP cylinders are on opposite sides of the unit. This particular hose assembly is going to feature an RV type one connector on this side, on the other end is a quarter inch MBT connector. The type one provides a higher flower rate allowing more gas to get to the high pressure regulator. The assembly measures twelve inches long. It's made from a nice thermo plastic construction.

It's very strong and durable. The type one dark green connector includes an internal back check to ensure that the system does not allow a back flow gas leak. The hose itself is going to feature a quarter inch inner diameter. The unit also features a heat sensitive thermal shut off device to shut off the gas in extreme heat situations. Where it comes to certification, it's UL 569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified. It is designed for LP gas only.

Temperature range is anywhere from negative forty degrees Fahrenheit to positive one hundred and forty degree Fahrenheit and the maximum flow capacity is 200,000 BTU's per hour. That's going to do it for today's look at the MB Sturgis Propane Hose Assembly.

Product was as described and installed perfectly - cured my problem. Great price; Shipping was fast but a little spendy, IMO; Packaging was just right - not too much or too little. Good job by etrailer.com !! 681645

I used these as replacements for two older style hoses on my RV tanks. The old ones required the use of a wrench to remove them from the tank. It was an easy conversion that took less than 15 minutes. On the connection to the regulator, I used yellow teflon gas tape on the threads as a precautionary measure. Still don't know if that was necessary, but didn't want to take a chance they might leak. So far, so good, no leaks at the connections. They are reasonably priced good quality hoses. With the older hoses it was a pain to switch out empty tank for a full one. Eventually it got so difficult to get the hose thread started in the propane tank that I stripped one of them out, which is why I ordered new hoses from etrailer. Tank swap outs are now a breeze, and no tools required! Wished I had done this years ago. Standard shipment from etrailer was adequate and reasonably priced. 663369

I don’t know what to say exactly. We screwed it on the propane bottle & it’s still working good. There’s not much to say... 559507

Had a terrible time trying to find these locally, even at RV dealers. etrailer had them and got them out immediately. I received them quickly and had propane again! They fit like the factory hoses. I've ordered several products from etrailer for my trucks, trailers, and now my RV. Always great service! 574451

High quality made in USA propane pigtails. Note that these are 1/4 inch pipe thread ends for the older auto switching regulator on my 2007 Airstream International. The more common 1/8 inch reverse flare fitting will not fit mine. The 1/4 inch pipe thread pigtails are a little harder to find, and are able to flow more propane. I have a propane powered generator that thes work very well with. 678376

Shipped and delivered as promised. Item was what I ordered installed easily and works. No leaks. 473121

Product was exactly what I expected. Package arrived yesterday and I changed the hoses on my tanks immediately. These are a bit shorter than the original and I like that. The extra loop in the hoses I replaced were beginning to dry rot and crack in the loop. These shorter hoses have no stress from being looped up and should last a significant amount of time. Once again Etrailer comes through with the right part at the best price!!!! 636350

Perfect fit for the NTP size of regulator that I own (mistakenly bought the flare size before, had to return it). I bought two, both worked without any leaking. I know these don't last long as they are exposed to the elements, so I'll plan on buying another couple when I need them again. Thanks etrailer for the great service and quality product at a good price! 577024

I ordered 2 of these pigtails and both leaked bad where the hose is crimped to the threaded fitting. 547363

Local retailer had the same item, but the price was more than triple than what I paid at etrailer! It only took 4 days for my item to be delivered to my door AND that was with economy shipping. I can wait 4 days if it allows me to save alot of money! Thanks, etrailer. 434176

I ordered 2 hoses to replace old, cracked propane bottle hoses on my trailer, after installation, I opened the valve on one of the propane bottles to do a leak check, and was met with a fairly loud hiss coming from the crimp fitting, touching the hose was all it took for the hose to completely come off of the fitting. On the package, it states that these are "Impeccably assembled and leak-tested", this cannot be the case as the crimp fitting wasn't tight enough to even grab the hose, let alone not leak. 550183

I purchased two of these about one year ago and they are sill working perfectly. They fit well and were of the proper length. Thought they were a bit stiff, but seem to work just fine. 739557

Form Fit Function, and longevity, all awesome. I ordered two of these, and they worked great. Easy to install, fit like the original equipment OEM. No leaks a year later, no issues. We put 20 tanks of fuel on this machine last year and 10 this year so far. Great part, great quality at a fair price. 737145

Order two of these to replace failed units on our trailer. Shopped on Amazon and saw tons of comments about people getting units that failed and leaked out of the box. Both of these look like high quality hose crimps and two weekends of use without any issues. Shipping was super quick and good communication. Would order from etrailer again. 726586

  • Does the MB Sturgis Propane Hose Assembly Part # 100473-12 Require a Sealer
The MB Sturgis Propane Hose Assembly part # 100473-12 should be exactly what you need to replace the leader hose that connects the propane tank and regulator on your 2007 Airstream Bambi Anniversary Edition. Since it has a MPT fitting you will need to use some sort of thread sealer or pipe tape which can be obtained at your local hardware store. It does not come with it but it is also fairly inexpensive. I have attached a review video for you as well.

  • Replacement Pigtail Propane Hose with 1/4 MPT Fitting
Thanks so much for the pictures and I'm sorry to hear about your accident! I hope everyone is okay. The correct replacement hose for your regulator is the MB Sturgis # 100473-12. This hose measures 12" long but various longer units are available, which I have linked below. The brass fitting/adapter you see on your existing hose is what is seen on some regulators, such as with the Camco # CAM59005. These are typically installed and kept on the regulator itself but sometimes are put...

This is a standard hose that connects to your tank goes to the single state regulator like what you have. • How to Remove Quick Disconnect Adapter From POL Fitting on DOT Propane Tank
There isn't really any advice I have on removing the quick disconnect fitting other than getting a wrench and plenty of elbow grease. It's in a POL thread which means it's a left-hand thread so keep that in mind. Once you get the quick disconnect out you can use a standard pigtail hose with a Type 1 ACME nut like part # 100473-12 on it.

  • Parts Needed to Connect DOT Propane Tank to RV
You will need a regulator to supply your RV with propane as all RV propane accessories are designed for low pressure propane. The first thing you'll need is a pigtail to plug into the DOT cylinder you want to use. For that you'd want the part # 100473-12. Next you'd want a regulator like part # 108220 and then a hose to connect to your trailer. Most likely you'd need the part # 100040-144-MBS which uses 3/8 inch MPT fittings but you might check out the FAQ article I attached to determine...

The line that would go to the interior of the trailer would be the # 100040-144-MBS for the burner. Check out the diagram I attached to see how it all installs as well as the help article link I attached as well.

You need two Type 1 connection hoses to go from the tanks to the regulator, part # 100473-12 is a 12 inch hose. • Should Propane Leak From The Hose When I Remove The Tank on Fifth Wheel Trailer
You are correct, gas should not be able to leak from the hose when you remove the tank. It sounds like you have a stuck or defective check valve in the regulator or the pigtail. Sometimes corrosion can build up and cause the back check valve to stay open. Some customers have been able to use a small amount of spray lubricant or PB Blaster to loosen up any build up that may have caused the check valve to stay open, but your best option is to replace the regulator and the hose completely,...

  • Connecting Kenmore LP Dryer to Propane Tank on RV
Thanks for the picture of the LP requirements of your dryer. It uses a standard 10 water column propane pressure rating so the regulator part # 108220 that you referenced is a good start since that is what this is designed for as well. You'll need a pigtail from the tank to the regulator like with the part # 100473-12 which is 12 inches long and then a hose to go from the regulator to the dryer. For a 10 foot hose you'd then want the part # 100202 and that would be all you'd need.

If you need new pig tail assemblies between the tanks and the regulator we have the part # 100473-12 which is a standard 12 inch long pigtail. None of these have O-rings though.
