Your RV appliances need steady low pressure even though the propane cylinder stores fuel at much higher pressure. This high-capacity 2-stage regulator reduces that pressure in two steps and supplies up to 225,000 Btu/hr.
Propane leaves the cylinder at far more pressure than your RV's low-pressure appliances are made to use. Sending that pressure straight to the appliances would create an unsafe operating condition. This regulator reduces the pressure in two stages, giving your propane system controlled low-pressure gas while supporting systems that need up to 225,000 Btu/hr.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this MEC high capacity two-stage RV propane regulator. Now this high capacity two stage RV propane regulator is basically the control point between your RV's propane cylinder and its appliances. As you know, propane comes out of the cylinder at a much higher pressure than RV appliances are designed to handle. So this regulator is going to reduce that pressure in two stages before sending propane through the rest of the system. So the two stage design also helps provide more consistent pressure than a single stage regulator.
And this model stands out because it's high capacity. It can supply up to 225,000 BTU per hour at a 30 PSI inlet pressure. So this is intended for RV propane systems that may have several appliances or otherwise have a higher propane demand. Its maximum inlet pressure is going to be 250 PSIG. For connections, we have this hard nose excess flow POL inlet, which allows the regulator to connect directly to a compatible propane cylinder.
On the appliance system side, we have a 3/8 of an inch female NPT outlet and it also has plugged 1/8 of an inch female NPT high and low pressure test ports. That's going to give a technician access points for checking system pressure during service or troubleshooting. And then we do have a horizontal dual stage. I'm sorry, we do have a 90 degree vent orientation that I was trying to point out right there. So this is going to be a horizontal dual stage regulator with a die cast zinc body.
It's well designed, well built, very robust. I think it's going to last a good long time, give you many, many years of good service. I think that's going to wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name's Andy, thank you for joining me.
