Hi, everyone, Steven, here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this MEC 50-inch-long Propane Hose. So folks, whether you need to connect your propane regulator or something like a cooker, smoker, even a torch, this gives you over four feet of flexible hose to put some distance between those components, route things around where you need it, and give you the space that you need. Now, like most hoses, it's very important when you're matching these up to what you already have that you pay very close attention to the connections. And as you can see, starting off, these are fully crimped brass ferrules, so very nice. The hose itself is thermoplastic, so it is flexible, but it has a working PSI of 350 PSI.

Now, as far as the threads here, you're gonna have a 3/8-inch female flare, and that's gonna swivel. So you're using your wrench to tighten it right here versus turning the whole hose. And as far as the other end here, you have 1/4-inch male NPT, or National Pipe Thread, and that'll fit into a compatible 1/4-inch female NPT port. Now, because these both use flare connections, you don't have to put pipe dope or pipe tape in there, but I highly recommend you always, no matter what kind of connection you're doing, once you pressurize it, make sure you're checking that with leak detection. Some people use soapy water.

We sell a nice leak detection sold separately here. It comes in a pink jar with a little applicator, and you can put that on your fittings and check them for any kind of leaks that way.
